When my year long treatment ends in January I'm truly going to miss my weekly visits at my secret getaway at Texas Hair Restoration and Wellness. When I wasn't living close enough to see Faye, the other places I went to never matched Faye's expertise. She is always gentle and caring about how I'm feeling during the process and after. She is quick and accurate, and her office is in a professional location in the Galleria area. I've been getting compliments on my eyebrows since Faye did electrolysis on them 10 years ago and I always have to tell people about what a wonderful job she did on them. She was incredibly nice and very knowledgeable on my treatment but I was just a little…read moreuncomfortable at the office. I had a 60 min electrolysis and a 5 min laser consultation on my face and neck. She did not use any gloves when touching my face, I didn't see her wash her hands before, during or after my treatment. She did a laser treatment on someone before me and didn't clean the equipment before using it on me. Also, I have been getting electrolysis for years and this treatment hurt like nothing I have ever experienced before. While I appreciate her aggressiveness in wanting to get the stubborn hairs, zapping me 6-7 times in the same hair follicle would hurt just about anybody. Even when I complained about how much it hurt, she just explain what she was doing but didn't actually stop zapping me. My face was inflamed and irritated for 4 days afterwards. If you have sensitive skin or very stubborn hair, I would not recommend going to her, at least not without getting something to numb your face first.

LOL We agreed on our philosophy. Yes we've both tried ayurvedic methods before and she said, "yes, you can pay me money. I can rub you for an hour and it will feel nice. But I want for you, results." (Did your mind go to a dirty place? I had to hold my giggles in when she said this.) But hallelujah. Yes sistah, we want results!! While we were calibrating the laser for treatment. She said, "on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being nothing, 10 is hurting. We need to be at an 8. We'll stop if you need to catch your breath but 8 is what we need." I thought i was working at an 8 but i think i can handle more next time. She almost seemed disappointed that I couldn't handle more. She was thorough, took her time and explained things as she went and asked how I was doing. Great bedside manner. The Spa is quiet, well decorated, comfortable and very private. You won't see or hear much activity but there are other things going on in that space. Love the hushed environment and personal attention.
