I can't believe the price I paid for a 2.5hr groom on my dog.It cost $100. I don't know the man's name. She was matted and needed a shave. I was told she was really matted. I brush her alot and the area really mated was her legs. they have a couple new employees and this is the 2nd cut I have not been happy with. I was very happy with the groomer that use to groom her but they have more people now,. Sorry to say I will find a trained groomer that doesn't do a chopped up grooming job. No matter if I don't go every 6weeks that doesn't explain the mess they did. I notified Eva's grooming and was told she was nervous and very matted. My dog has been to other groomers and I have never been told she was nervous with them.Her tail was fine but cut short uneven and 3"hairs here and there hanging down,long hairs under her belly, under chin was cut very choppy, mustache uneven If she was that nervous they should have called me. I never get to speak with a live person except when I go there. read more

my dog needed her nails trimmed and Eva's offered a walk-in for $15 so I took my dog in and while in there I asked the gentleman if her anal glands needed to be expressed and he said yes so I told him to go ahead and do that. When he came back out about five minutes later, he charged me $30, $15 for the trim and then another 15 for the anal gland express, which to me was outrageous, but I neglected to question it prior to having him do the job. I thought it questionable when he said he couldn't take my card. Wanted to know if I had cash. I said no. He then asked if I had a check and I did happen to have one so I wrote a check for $30. He did not want me to fill in the paid to portion of the check, he just wanted that left blank. I found that to be very questionable, and will not be going back to that business. The business was not clean, and the whole get up was sketchy and unsatisfactory. read more

It was clean and the staff were friendly- however, the reason I took my dog in to get cut was so that it would look professional. I have a standard dog grooming kit at home and I typically cut her hair myself to save on grooming costs. When I picked her up, she looked cute, but almost exactly the way I cut her at home- a little choppy, and not at all like a professional groomer had done it. Her face even still smelled a little funny, like she hadn't been thoroughly bathed. She also had little white flakes on her fur that I'd never seen before. If you're looking to spend $50+ to get an average cut, be my guest. However, my search for a good groomer will continue. You can see in the picture how choppy her face looked. I'd give this place another chance, but not for a while. read more

I just picked up my Cavalier King Charles and they gave him THE worst cut I've ever had for him! I can't believe how chopped up he is and they cut off all of his feathering!!! Just the worst. They do an amazing job with my poodle mix Mila. I love that she gets to hang out with other dogs while she's there. Her cuts are always perfect! They really seem to treat her well which is the most important to me. All the groomers here seem to have a kind and gentle disposition. I usually walk in to make an appointment and they can usually get her in fairly quickly. read more

The two times my dog Sam has been there a bichon poodle mix they have been wonderful with him and he looks so good when he is done there. He is super soft afterwards and still smells good a week after. I like that as long as the dogs are well behaved they don't have to be kenneled and are allowed to play with the other dogs that are there. They also are reasonably priced. I took my dog in for her monthly spa trip. She came home upset, hiding in the closet..her rear end was raw. I called to find out what happened and the told me she was acting constipated and pooped in the bath. Odd since my dog had never exhibited signs if this before, ever...and the said nothing of this behavior when she was picked up. She looked good...but was an upset puppy. The next day the poor pup was crying going to the bathroom. Took her to the vet and she has a pulled groin muscle, probably from slipping in the tub. When I called the groomer back, they said sorry she was sick. There were also different folks running the desk and grooming. I asked about Eve. She no longer owns the business. We have been customers since July. The business changed in September, no mention to customers. Needless to say we will not be back. Extremely disappointed read more

This place has really gone down hill, since they sold it to the new owner. They don't return calls or answer the phone. You pay for a service and sometimes they don't clip the nails or bath the dog I've noticed. How much longer will this place stay in business. I've had enough of this place. The dogs are allowed to socialize with the other dog clients in the main grooming room, which I think makes for a relaxed environment rather than being stuck in crates. Took my dog there for the first time today and was pleased. She just needed a bath and simple trim. It's been raining non stop so she hasn't been able to play with other dogs for days and today she finally got the chance. It was pretty cool that they let the dogs loose to play. They are good with the dogs. My dog always looks good and is so happy when I pick her up. However, they don't treat the owners very well. Never answer the phone. Never return your messages. You have to leave many messages before you get a response. And one time they cancelled my appointment and didn't take the time to inform me. I drove down there and parked outside, waiting for someone to show up and no one did. How inconsiderate! How do they stay in business? I give it two stars because my dog always looks very good and they obviously treat the dogs well. I just wish they had the same respect for the dog owners. read more

Moving back from Southern California it was extremely difficult to find a dog groomer that really new how to cut Standard Poodles. After trying more than 1/2 dozen, Alex at Eva's Doggery was recommended to me. They are the best in the area and equal to the groomers in Woodland Hills and Palm Desert that I would take Hank. We recently added another Standard Poodle to our family and they have taken great care of our new puppy Pepper. Yes, sometimes phone follow-up isn't the greatest and yes, he will normally have the dogs for 4 hours...sometimes a bit longer but, the dogs come back perfect...beautifully cut and happy. Every groomer I have met wants to cut poodles but few have the experience to really do a good job and a bad haircut lasts for months....I really like this place and only hope this review won't increase business to the point where I have to wait longer to get my dogs in. If you have a Standard Poodle, you want Alex to bath and cut your dog...you won't regret it. read more

We have been clients for 13 years. My dog has a lot of anxiety issues. Alex has a calming presence and my dog mellows out right away in his arms. They take very good care of the dogs. I like that my dog gets to roam around most of the time after his cut, rather than being placed in a kennel. As I mentioned, my dog has a lot of anxiety so him being in a kennel is not ideal. I just picked my dog up today from Eva's and he was very calm, looking out the window waiting for me. It melted my heart. Our dog is a Shih Tzu and we love the puppy cut. The staff was nice and professional. My dog had no injuries. Other than that I will not be going back. I asked for a very simple short cut. Her hair was very choppy and I probably could have done as poor of a job at home myself. The hair around her paws were also not cut, and she looked like she had a quick bath. EVA SOLD HER BUSINESS. NEW OWNERS ARE HORRIBLE, but retain the same name. I've been taking my Yorkshire Terrier to Eva for over 10 years and have always been very happy. When it was sold I was told the new groomers were trained by Eva. The shop is certainly not as clean as it was previously. Today I took my Yorkie to be groomed and it looks like she got in a fight with hedge clippers. Uneven cut from top to bottom. Shaved her front legs and didn't trim around her ears. When I picked her up I noticed her leg shave right away. When I questioned them they said: "oh that's just the way her hair grows on her legs". Well that's news to me! When I got home I realized I had to call. I found out she had been trimmed by two different groomers (obviously in training). The receptionist graciously told me to return for a refund and to try and correct the cut. I drove back hoping to somehow correct the uneven cut. While the receptionist was very polite the groomer was strangely confrontational and told me "If you don't like it go to Petsmart". An odd response. Needless to say I won't be returning and will be glad when my Yorkie's horrible cut grows out and I can get it cut by professionals. Dirty, unprofessional and UNTRAINED. read more

Having my lab shaved is the greatest to help with not shedding! I never would have thought of it until Andrea suggested it. It helps with keeping him clean and also cuts down on my daily need to vacuum. The only negative is the receptionist. She was so rude when I picked up that I would never return if it wasn't for how great Andrea is with my dog and his haircut. I picked him up an hour before they closed and the receptionist acted as if I were late. Great job Andrea! But....find a new receptionist that won't scare away the customers! read more

Normally a good experience but less two visits have been less than stellar. I was asked to bring my dog in at 8, rather than my 1pm scheduled appointment. My dog was not ready til 3pm and it was quite obvious she was never let out to relieve herself nor was given any water. My dog looks good other than the uneven 'bowl cut' shave lines she now has on the back of her neck. Lady at desk was rude when I paid and didn't even say thank you after a generous tip that I would not have left after seeing my dog and her actions after the appointment. Although Eva sold her business to Alex and his family, the quality of care has not changed one whit. If your someone that like's your dog cut a certain way, then don't take your dog here. After I explained to them what I wanted cut, the way I wanted it cut and what not cut and they agreed with me before I left him, they just went ahead and totally disregarded my wishes and cut him the way they wanted too. I discussed it with them after they just shaved all his hair off and they said they didn't think he'd look good the way I wanted him so they just did what they thought was best. Who's dog is it theirs or mine? Who's paying the bill? Shouldn't I be able to get the haircut I want?, well not here you can't. I can't do business with people that won't listen to me and don't do what I want specially after agreeing with me to do it. read more
