This is information you can't get doing an internet search * Jennifer's estimates of delivery dates were 100% accurate. Some items even came in early. * Jennifer clearly identified which fixtures were returnable without a restocking fee (standard in-stock items) and which were not returnable (custom orders) * Excel Plumbing is open on Saturdays. Many plumbing supply houses are not * The average discount over the entire order was substantial for the fixtures we bought, and was better than that offered by any other showroom In addition to all of that, Jennifer understands the emotional toll from renovations and reduces concerns where she can: * Your home is in chaos and daily routines are disrupted (she can't help you there) * The wide selection of brands can be daunting (she helps you cut through the clutter of information, and whittle down the options) * You are concerned about making costly mistakes (she helps you make choices with confidence and can also point you towards products that can be returned without penalty) * You might feel urgency to get the renovation done before holiday guests arrive (she can tell you which items are in stock and if not in stock, which manufacturers' estimated delivery dates are reliable) * Your contractor may be pressing you towards products you don't want or like (she can help you identify alternative products you do like) Jennifer has our highest recommendation.

The cabinet price…read morethey quoted me ended up being at least a couple thousand more than the place I ended up choosing and they were not as nice either (the East Star ones were particle board while the other ones were wood, the other ones were soft close which these were not, my actual layout ended up having almost entirely drawers on the base cabinets which wasn't included in the East Star price and so it would have been even higher than the quote they gave me, and so on). I was also looking for countertops and their options left a lot to be desired. They were maybe slightly cheaper than the other place ($40 difference for a standard countertop size of 110" by 26") but way less options and didn't look as nice. Mostly they were just not that helpful and I also didn't love their selections. I left searching for other options pretty quickly. I think one reason to maybe come here is the prices but in my experience even those were higher and the quality and selection were worse. In addition, ideally you want someone who can actually help you figure out a layout and make you feel like you want to shop there and I didn't get that sense. Maybe I just had a bad experience but even though I came in having some idea of what I wanted, I definitely did not get the vibe that this was where I would find it.

I think the company is very picky on clients and like to see if they have enough money to pay for their service. If they think we cannot afford it, they will just cut all the communications. They emailed me last minute to say they'd do a smaller sink than I had specified and I didn't see the email until it was too late. They were about to do the small sink but fortunately I was onsite and caught the issue in time. They made it work with a proper size sink. Even with these glitches I still was satisfied and would absolutely work with them again. The price was similar to what I'd paid several years ago for a similar sized job so I would consider their overall offering to be very competitively priced.

The showroom is well laid out, two floors, attractive, not confusing, with a range of prices from, say, Delta, Moen and Kohler to higher end brands. (I think lower costs on the bottom floor, higher-end upstairs.) Free parking lot to the side of the building, which you need in the Mission. It's important to see and touch as many of these products as you can. We worked with Keoki Garner. He was well informed, timely, easily available, and collaborative. He stayed cheerful when I overrode him and then changed things last minute (due to my own mistakes.) I loved that I could do research on Build.com and then bring it to Keoki. He never upsold or resisted when I went, say, for Kohler over Grohe. Everything so far has been delivered impeccably and undamaged. Build.com offers an enormous range of products, and I like that too. You can return within a reasonable amount of time. We haven't started construction yet but almost everything is sourced and in the garage.We have a clear billing record so much came from Build.com. I ended up gravitating to some more expensive fixtures, but not because of pressure, because of my own preference. I'd definitely do business with Keoki and with Ferguson again.

The part was an obsolete one, for which I'd purchased a comparable replacement online. However, I hadn't realized that the part didn't come with bushings. When I tried to get the bushings out of the old cylinders, they were stuck. After a tremendous amount of time trying to dislodge them myself, I thought I'd need to find replacement bushings. I'd already struck out at a different hardware store prior to going to Discount Builders. Similarly, Discount Builders also didn't have what was essentially a specialized bushing designed just for the old obsolete cylinder. Most employees would've just stopped at nope we don't have it. However, Max was incredibly resourceful and skilled, and took the cylinders to a work area in the store and spent perhaps the next half hour getting the bushings out. Miraculous! My rowing machine is now reassembled and working great. Thanks to Max! That is truly above and beyond customer service! Love this store!
