Do Not buy cars from this dealership. I bought a 2021 ILX from them 3 weeks ago and it's been nothing but problems. I gave them 3 weeks to make things right and they haven't. The Car had after market wheel locks they provided no key and no assistance in braking off the wheel locks and they are refusing to give me a full reimbursement for it. Then the car had 2 tire pressure sensors that are bad. That they said they were going to fix it while i did the paperwork they never did.when I finished the paperwork with the finance guy they were all gone and the car was parked outside in the street with the Tire Pressure still in the dash but no one to help. I took the car to acura by me to fix the sensors thats when i was told by acura about the wheel locks. Driving the car from NJ back home to NY is where I realized something wasnt right. When I was at acura they told me right side axel is broken. Tires are all bad snd need to be replaced and the brakes are bad. Its been nothing but problems since the purchase. They do not respond or acknowledge everything just play dumb stating cars are sold as is and they didn't know. Very dishonest business and this is a very incompetent dealership that cannot be trusted. Go to BBB and see the complaints they are selling bad cars. And provide no help or assistance afterwards. They didn't send my registration and title stating the message was never relayed so it wasnt mailed out. I dropped $ 9,400 down payment and have a total purchase of $48k and the car is all fucked up! European Auto sold a customer a car with a bad head gasket also played dumb and provided no assistance after. In addition, they would not move off their list price and when we came up in negotiations they stayed put. They also had BS dealer fees that probably go straight into the manager's pockets. Went to European Auto Expo on Saturday- showed us a ML350 which was OK but I asked if they had any CX-9s. I was told yes- they had one at their sister dealership in Hillside (this place). They said they Could drive it up from there but it would be an hour. My wife and I had to be somewhere so we made an appointment for this morning Monday at 9:30 with a sales person who said she would be there and she would show me the CX-9 then. 2. This morning we brought our kids to school drop them off and headed over to European to check out the CX-9. What do you know? The CX 9 is not there!!! Sara the salesperson is not there. Matt Another sales person tells us it's no problem just come back later even though we have kids who are in school. It's no problem. Reluctantly we say OK and we made another appointment for 230. 3. Back at home I get a text not a call from someone who does not identify themselves at European. They tell me that the car cannot be driven up from the other dealership and then I would have to go down my self to see it but it was absolutely there in the lot. 4. I take the time to drive half an hour down to Hillside NJ to see this infamous CX-9 and I bet you can guess what I'm going to say next - The "oh it's in the shop excuse" - oh the car is not here we took it to maintenance it had a recall and service engine soon light. They also told me that I should cut out the middleman and call them directly next time after someone up north verified that the car was actually there. It just keeps getting better and better.... First, the sales man, Matthew, had a nonchalant attitude and was unaware about the vehicle and it's issues that it came with even though he was the one that called me telling me to come in and see the vehicle. Once I turned on the car, the traction control light was on and it couldn't be turned off and the tire pressure sensor was on, and the car said "drive carefully, systems are initializing" even though the car was on for more than 10 minutes.. Meanwhile, my girlfriend noticed that there was a huge scratch on the rear passenger side and few minor dents throughout the vehicle and there was no spare tire. There was also a hole on the carpet mat on the driver side. There was also a leak. We went inside to talk about the car. Right away, Matthew wanted to talk about financing without reassuring us about the car issues and he didn't even offer a test drive. There was tension because he was nonchalant about the car problems and was extremely dismissive giving false reassurance that the car would get fixed TODAY, only to find out their mechanic was off on Saturdays Eventually he brought out his manager, who was a nice guy to say the least. He said all the sensors will go away once I drove the car, so I asked for a test drive. Only to find MORE issues with this vehicle. When I drove the car, the brakes sounded extremely loud. SEE BELOW FOR THE ISSUES THAT CAME UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR: 1. Tire pressure monitor problem 2. While another car sales man was parking the car, I told him "he shouldn't be parking that car back in the lot, it should be parked in the mechanic's garage" A lot of red flags, from the looks of the dealership itself, nobody wearing face masks except for the manager, the attitude of the sales man, the missing spare tire and the MULTIPLE car problems. We met Jorge who let us test drive a car that we were interested in and later talked us through all of the details back in the office. We decided to leave to discuss the prospective vehicle and my husband and I even went above and beyond to put a 500 dollar hold payment on it. We were excited and told him that we would be back in the evening. When we arrived later in the day, we noticed a group of people in the car and were confused. "Shouldn't there be a sign that indicates that this car is unavailable?" That's what any proper business would do. Then Jorge told us, bad news: the car is sold. Sold? How is that possible with 500 dollars less in my bank account... Here's how it happened: a group of people came in AFTER us and no one was informed of the hold payment. The group wanted to buy the car right away and that's just what they did. With our hold payment on it. After a long feud with the manager he refunded us. He explained that they are short staffed so no one knew of the hold deposit. His excuse was nothing short of apathetic as he offered us a slice of greasy pizza. Very disappointing experience here. Dealt primarily with sales person Lauren who was cordial if not incredibly apathetic to my inquiry. I looked at a car that I saw online, liked, test drove. It was only after I came back and was ready to move forward that she acted interested in my business in anyway. When it came down to discuss pricing I was led to the office where Jonathan("the manager") obviously thought I was a young naive fool and tried to stick me with a $2,750 "reconditioning fee" which everybody knows is a BS fee. This is of course on Top on their $589 semi legitimate Doc fee (which in and of itself is kinda high). The OTD price they gave was me was over 45% above the asking price of the car which is absurd. When I called them out on this blatant BS they tried to give excuses saying they recondition their cars, etc... It was a bit insulting to my intelligence to be taken for a fool... I told them wasn't paying bogus fees so they came back with a number and I gave my out the door number. They agreed and then went to finish the deal and their out door price didn't include tax and a 500 doc fee. In all they tried to hide $5,000 in fees in the deal. Good news first. I came to this dealership, just to window shop a specific car: 2017 Blue Toyota Highlander XLE with 40000 miles. I dealt with an enthusiastic salesperson that didn't want me to leave without this car, and brought my monthly payments down to a manageable amount for 66 months , with 3500.00 down and a fair trade in value of 2000.00 for my 2008 Toyota Rav 4 with 190000 miles. It was a relatively painless and friendly experience as far as the car purchasing experience went. After taking my Highlander to Parkway Toyota, it passed a thorough inspection with flying colors. The only item that needed immediate attention was a rusted front brake assembly from probably consistent exposure to moisture. They strongly recommended that I have European Auto Expo of Lodi take full responsibility for entire replacement brake assembly; not just the pads, as their is significant rust present. European Auto Expo assured me they would take care of this, but to please schedule later next week as the entire month is booked at their mechanics. I was fine with this. I waited a week. They then told me that it is the Muslim Holiday of Eid al-Adha and if I could please patiently wait til the holiday is over. I of course respected their holiday. At the end of Eid al-Adha they told me to drop car off at 11:00. THEY WENT BACK ON THEIR WORD AND REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE ENTIRE NEW BRAKE ASSEMBLY. THEY AGREED ONLY AROUND 100.00 FOR PADS ONLY!!!! THEY LEFT ME WITH THE REST OF THE BILL: APPROXIMATELY A LITTLE OVER 450.00!!!! NOT COOL!!! NOT PROFESSIONAL. So far I like the car, I can manage the payments, and I appreciate a 200.00 refund on the title situation. I almost was prepared to give 5 stars for my experience. Why they pulled this on a safety issue as important as replacing rusty brakes is beyond me. You get what you pay for. European Auto just payed me for a TWO STAR REVIEW!!! I was referred to this dealership from a colleague of mine. I was very eager to see the vehicles on the lot because I was truly in urgent need of a new car I work 2 jobs and currently attend school. My intention was to purchase something reliable and efficient. I went in February of 2021 and had a wonderful salesperson by the name of Manny he worked with me and understood my circumstance. I was able to leave the lot with a new car. Within that month the vehicle displayed a warning of new rear brake pads, I called the dealership and informed them. During the call I practically had no help. Nobody was willing to do anything for me I was told " its considered wear and tear so unfortunately I would have to pay out of pocket in addition my warranty did not cover the service. Approximately 5 weeks later my check engine light came on and I brought the car to my mechanic he informed me that I was in need of a new thermostat based of his diagnostic run, at this point I was in disbelief because I entrusted this dealership with the money I had saved to receive something of quality this did not reflect so. I attempted to call again and this time I asked for a manager, when I spoke to him I basically received the run around again, he tried to refer me to their mechanics but at this point if I could not trust the vehicle I purchased I didn't feel comfortable trusting someone they referred me to. Whatever you do stay away from this dealership. I was dumb and didn't read the reviews or do research on the company before dealing with them. I was looking for a very specific car and was willing to travel from Colorado to their dealership to get it. After putting the deposit down and setting the appt and starting the financing I bought my plane tickets to New York. Friday 7-20-18 was when I last spoke to Tori who took my money and told me the car had gone through the Audi certified preowned inspection and had new tires and brakes. I booked my flight for my gf and I (was surprising her with the car) on that Saturday but wasn't able to get a hold of Tori until Tue 7-24-18 when I made the front desk patch me through to her. First thing she said was that they were looking for a new car for me bc the one I had paid for was gone. She told me a story that it had major frame damage and had gotten an update from Carfax about that on Friday (Craig and then the finance manager told me two different stories. They also wouldn't show me any paper work proving what had happened). I am now out all my travel fees (~$600) because Tori didn't call me that Friday or Saturday when it was supposedly deemed unsalable. If she had I would have been able to get a refund on my travel expenses. I told them to give me the money I had put down back and refund me for my travel expenses since it was Tori's fault for not contacting me. It took a couple days to get my deposit back and they still won't refund any of my expenses. I honestly think they sold the car and were waiting for me to get to NY to force me to buy a different one from them because I would have been stuck. They also charge a low jack and "inspection" fee adding up to over $2000 that they don't advertise. Doing more research they have been sued by the state for many things and lost. I don't understand how they are still in business. Everyone there was very rude and pushy and unwilling to help once they got the money. Tori uses a personal email for information and a google phone you can't actually call into. The front desk answers and you can barely understand what they are saying. I asked to talk to the owner and he has been conveniently gone since the beginning now. I will continue the process of getting a refund mainly on principal now. Please do not go to this place. They are big-time SCAMMERS. I recently bough a car from here and we had a deal at the time. The manager, Zach, told me the final price was including everything. He said at the time of the deal that he would take care of the number plates. However, when I went back to get my Certificate/ Title, he told I have to get the number plates from the MVC myself or there will be an additional cost. I went to MVC and they told me the dealership did not stamp the Title, so I have to go back to the dealership. I have already gone back and forth to the MVC thrice. It is already very difficult to get appointments at the MVC. Three months after the purchase of the car, they tell me I have to PAY TAXES on the car if I want them to provide a proper Title for Registration. They made me pay addition $1,200 after the deal was sealed and done. In addition to this, 2 weeks after the purchase, I had to replace the tire/ rim, which cost me $400 on top. I kept calling the dealership and no one would answer my call or get back to me. No one in my family has had such an experience before. My family has a lot of experience in buying cars from dealerships, but this was my first time. I HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Get everything in writing because these people hide information. The car runs amazing the only bad thing is that I had to change the battery and passenger side head light which was pretty expensive but other then that what can you expect from a used car dealership.
