I'll start nice, we strolled in with smiles looking for just some ice cream. The two friends I was with have severe gluten allergies. We started by looking around and we decided to ask if any of the ice cream had gluten. The first dude we talked to couldn't tell us. So we kept asking and the manager walked in. We asked her if we could see the ingredients list since we weren't able to determine what did or did not have gluten. Finally, she pulled out the folder of nutritional facts but she would not let us see it. That is incredibly dangerous to my friends and it is illegal(I'm pretty sure) to hid that type of information from your customers. Either make it clear what gelatos, sorbets, and fro-yos are allergy friendly, or get the f**k out of the resort we love. read more

Probably the very worst gelato I have ever had in my life! It had a horrible, grainy texture, it tasted as though it was freezer, burned, and I just can't find words to describe any further, how bad it was. The woman behind the counter looked at us about three times without greeting us, and just walked into the back room. Finally, I asked if we were supposed to serve ourselves! Or if she was going to serve us. She was so awkward and had zero understanding of any level of friendliness or customer service. I would definitely avoid this place, unless you absolutely have to have some gelato or frozen yogurt. We might come back to check out the frozen yogurt just to see if it is equally as bad. read more

oof, I hate to write reviews like this, but honestly the service, atmosphere and ice cream were all so terrible. Walking into the building their is missing lids on a lot of the topping items, sanitary concerns as im sure a dozen kids have stuck their little hands in the bins to grab a free snack while waiting. The gelato case had a bunch of flavored displayed and decorated, however their was ICE chunks on the top of them, and crystallizing on over half the flavors as well! When ordering, we decided to do 3 flavors, and the gal was so concerned with which order she was placing the flavors that completely forgot which flavors we ordered, and asked several times while we waited to check out. Once she finished packing the icy gelato into the cup, we went to sit down outside on the patio. As we started eating, the top layer was too icy almost like it re froze, texture was definitely off. I got another cup from inside to scoop the bad gelato out so we could enjoy the other flavors, but unfortunately they tasted just as bad. This place is a great location, and really the only ice cream spot in the village, was really a bummer that its so run down, and poorly kept up. read more

Yikes where do I even start. First of WAYYYYY over priced and someone tell me why there is always only one person working and no one out at the front. The toppings are all either old and gross or all stuck together. They stop making flavors two hours before closing if they are empty. They didn't have the two most common flavors at 6:30 when they close at 8. Also the gelato looks absolutely disgusting it's melted and the signs are even melted into the flavors. For being the only desert place in the village they should step up their game especially with how expensive it it. I got a half bag of little candies and the total was 16 DOLLARS!!!???!? So they weighed it and charged him $21. And our 12 and 13 year olds were charged $18 and $12 for theirs. For a cup of ice cream. When I asked why they said the price per weight is clearly marked in the menu. I explained that it was a 7 year old kid and they said "well we just work here." The only chocolate was labeled "sorbet" - which he doesn't like because of the icier texture. The guy working said "no it's not really - it has milk." Stupendously overpriced yogurt that is nothing special. It cost almost $32 for my husband and me to each get a cup, twice as much as we'd have paid at the yogurt shop back home. I had my back turned when the cashier told my husband the total and I thought I'd misheard, but my husband confirmed later that is heard correctly. The tables and chairs outside were pretty beat up and the cashier was quite unfriendly, too, which made me wonder where all of that money is being invested. Was hoping for cleanliness especially during the pandemic. Walked up and a hand written sign in the window said "back in 30 min". 30mins from when? We waited 20 mins. The table and chairs on the patio were filthy. Sticky to to the touch and dirt. Hadn't been wiped much less sanitized in the last day. One employee showed up, she took money, straight to the bowls, straight to the yogurt machine, straight to the toppings, to the customer. Straight back to the register and repeat. NO GLOVES! Never again! Wow...what a ripoff. As others have said, you'll pay at least twice what you'd expect from a self-serve yogurt shop. The machine shot product out of the nozzle so forcefully, part of the nozzle ended up in my daughter's yogurt. The employee's demeanor indicated this was probably not unusual. They only have one size cup (giant!), and of course you fill it yourself but that's a bit hard for the kids to understand moderation (which I'm sure is intentional). Father-in-law sampled two different flavors of gelato and passed on actually getting a cup...he said it tasted as though it had been in the freezer for months (and he's not picky!) Finally, the two women working there did not speak much--if any--English. I'm guessing Japanese, which is awesome to come to Squaw for a summer job or whatever, but didn't help our experience in trying to help fix the yogurt machine when the nozzle shot off. read more
