As food trucks go this one is pretty good. Not your standard fries and burgers. Perogies, lamb burgers, Gyros and pretzels. They also seem to have some inventive specials. I have been a couple of times and had the lamb burger (excellent) and a special greek poutine (Gyro fixings on fries) which was really good, should go on their standard menu. I've also had their fresh pretzels also great. They happen to be parked outside of a micro brewery, not an accident i'm sure. So if you want a cold beer with your meal its only steps away. Best in Stittsville in my opinion. read more

We are a brand new food truck located in the far west end of Ottawa and here is the story behind the idea......the kitchen in many European cultures is the heart of the Home and it was no different for me. It's where you grew up watching your meals so lovingly come together. It's where gossip was spread, tears were shed and laughter was shared. For me, most importantly, it's where I learned the importance and appreciation of cooking for those we love. Since I was little, I knew I wanted to cook for others, sharing some of my fondest European recipes that remind me of home, of cooking side by side with my mom, my aunts, my grandma and learning that food is not just what's in front of you, it's the people around you when you're eating it. With that in mind, we are a family-run company that will strive to make every customer feel like they're part of the family! The food itself was good, but unfortunately not great. Truthfully it just didn't have a lot of flavour. I really wanted to love it here, but instead I just liked it. The service was average at best, but the restaurant is nicer inside than the pictures show. I think an older crowd who prefers less "flavour" will love it here. I will be back at some point to try the pierogies, but with lots of other spots to hit in the meantime... Happy eating!

Perfect! Nice little deli with one table in the store. Take-out spot. We got the following: # Turkey sandwich: Thick cut, generous turkey slices (taste like actual tender turkey breast) with lettuce, pickle, tomato, mayo, mustard, and roasted red pepper spread. Paired with smoked cheese slice. It was DELICIOUS. What set this apart from other sub/sandwich places is the use of roasted red pepper spread. It is a game changer. Bread (Kaiser) is fresh, crispy on the outside, slightly sweet and light interior, perfect for the rich meat slices. # Schnitzel sandwich: Pork schnitzel topped with sauerkraut salad and served on a toasted Kaiser. This was a bit disappointing - the schnitzel was very hard and dry. However, the sauerkraut salad and again, the roasted red pepper spread was perfect accompaniment. # Homemade Vienna cheesecake: Delicious!!! $2.99 per cake, homey taste. They have a varieties of European goods such as jams, mustards, cheeses etc. They carry European candy (milka chocolate..yum), coffees, bread. They also have deserts such as fruit cakes. Over all, great place to pick up some euro groceries. The food is good quality. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable on the products in the store.

They sell perogies and other Eastern European snacks. Overall, the food was good, and reminded me of the home cooking of the mothers of my Slavic friends. I found the prices a bit high for what they were, but I guess nowadays that's not unsurprising. I got a ground pork and rice bun ($4), a ground beef crepe ($4) and a cottage cheese pancake ($4). The ground pork and rice bun was reminiscent of a cabbage roll in bun form, minus the cabbage and the tomato sauce, lol. It was heavy on the bun and rice and light on the pork, but tasted like comfort food. It reminded me a bit of the Asian buns filled with fillings like BBQ pork or curry beef as well. The bun was soft and almost brioche-like. The ground beef crepe was tasty, albeit a bit oily for my tastes. The crepe is a bit sweet, while the meat is slightly salty. The cottage cheese pancake was slightly sweet and I should have eaten this one last, as it was more dessert-like. I like that the cheese was thick and had a nice texture. Overall, the three items made a good snack. Service was courteous. The lady asked if I wanted the items warmed up and I liked that she placed them on a real plate to microwave them before putting them into a styrofoam box (I have seen some places put styrofoam in the microwave [shudder]). I mean I would have preferred if the box was cardboard, but at least they don't microwave styrofoam. The shop is located in a strip mall. There's plenty of free parking in the strip mall.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Tasty fancy donuts (mostly yeast…read moredonuts) with cool flavours. The Long Version: I've been a fan of Suzy Q donuts since they opened their first location in Hintonburg. They have expanded over the years and have several locations across the city now. My brother picked up a half dozen donuts here for one of our family get-togethers. He got there too soon after opening and their filled donuts were not ready yet, so he got their regular/unfilled donuts. I much prefer filled donuts, but the unfilled ones were good. They have their permanent line of flavours then they have seasonal and rotating flavours. The seasonal/rotating donuts sometimes cost a bit more, like a $0.30 premium. It's usually $23 for 6 donuts (Feb 2025 pricing). My brother got a Spicy Pineapple Twister, a Dirty Chocolate, a Cookies n Cream, an Old Fashioned, a D'OhNut, and a Raspberry Cassis. There was a premium charge on the Spicy Pineapple Twister and the Old Fashioned. The Spicy Pineapple Twister is just a regular donut, it is not a Mochi donut despite the shape. I tried a bit of it and enjoyed it. The spiciness was incredibly mild. I tried a sliver of the old fashioned just to try it, but I'm not generally a fan of cake donuts. I much prefer yeast donuts. I didn't have any of the others because I've had them before and needed to save stomach space for other foods at our family feast, haha. Suzy Q donuts are always aesthetically pleasing and taste good. This location lives up to that standard. Review #55 (2025)
