    Interior of Restaurant

Came by for lunch today with my family and had a good time, though the experience was a bit rough around the edges. Eureka is a restaurant with indoor only seating, though it does have an indoor patio area that opens to the street. They take reservations so I'd recommend doing that if possible. They've got a ton of beers on draft to choose from, and also offer a taster option which I did to try a few different beers. I wish the tasters were bigger, and wish they gave you something to track the different beers, because it's easy to get them mixed the way they serve them one-by-one. I wish they served them all at once as well, because I received my beers piecemeal, with one showing up 10 minutes after my other beers had arrived. On the food front, I got the al pastor fish tacos and tried the fish & chips. The Al pastor fish tacos were excellent, but the fries it came with were stale. The fish & chips were ok, a bit bland but well cooked. Like the beers, all of our food came out very piecemeal, with one item coming 10 minutes after everything else had come. Overall, it felt like the service was a bit hit or miss; the staff is nice but it was hard to get their attention, which I would attribute to them being spread thin. I think if you're not in a hurry this place has some good lunch specials and good beers to try, just be ready for a slow experience.

Been here twice, and it's a great location. Literally in the middle of downtown Berkeley. UC Berkeley being close by & Berkeley City College few steps away. Also, right off of the BART stop. PERFECT! They got great deals for Happy Hour. Those HH burgers are amazing. We've also had other appetizers there before & it's amazing as well. Definitely, a place to stop by for lunch or HH when in downtown Berkeley. The workers are nice as well!

Tried the Jalapeño Egg Burger with tots. The burger was cooked medium and the egg over medium exactly as requested. The tots were crispy and the portion size was generous. Everything was good but didn't quite have that wow factor that would bring me back.

We came to Eureka! Just to grab a few little bites to satisfy our savory craving. We got the pretzel bites and the Mac and cheese balls. The Mac and cheese is always the stand out with the yummy and slightly spicy fried balls. Staff was incredibly attentive and super kind! Oour service was constantly checking up on us. Highly recommend visiting midday when the weather is nice, since the whole wall/window was open and it was greatly ventilated!

Ugh I hate giving 3s but I must stick w the yelp credo and be honest. Started off bad w only one server and one bartender on the floor, server was super nice so no hate to her, hate to the managerial staff for leaving her up a creek like that. There was a manager(?) helping occasionally, but clearly they were very understaffed. Took a while to get seated even though there were empty tables available. Dirty soda was yummy, and the burger was good, but the buns were very odd? And like the bottom bun was already soggy and splitting by the time it got to my table. The fish and chips...I mean come on that plate is 75% fries! Gotta give credit that the fish were battered very well and not greasy, but besides that, mid. I usually fuck w eureka but this was a bummer!

Just missed happy hour! The truffle cheese sauce was awesome n loved it, but the cheese on the fries didn't melt? What's that mean? Lol.... The wings were extra crispy the way I like them!! Reasonably priced! The drink flight was hit n miss. 2 of the whiskey tasted like blah, n the other 2 were great. The Pinot noir was a miss, but the Chardonnay was great tasting. Don't recommend the whiskey flight, for the $$$ There's a lot of seating, but wooden n uncomfortable... which is what a lot of places in Berkeley do... so average seating. There's clothe napkins n very nice silverware! Good for date night! The server was nice and attentive! Very fluid conversationalist!!! I like that in a server! Close to Bart & street parking nearby! Clean restrooms! Child friendly, but not baby friendly!!!

It never goes wrong to go Eureka! For burgers! We went for St Patrick's Day and ordered a special burger with wagyu beef patty marinated in Guinness. You can truly taste Guinness in it. One of the best burgers I ever had!

The food was amazing. The atmosphere was chill with a great view. Ordered off the daily specials menu which is also on the weekends. Had the burger and grilled chicken sandwich. Bloody Marys were average. Our server was great and attentive.

Service was a 10/10. Jack did a great job. He was helpful and consistent Ambiance - 10/10 nice and versatile, you can come here for a nice date night or to watch a game with boys. Food - 8/0 the food is good specially the mash burgers and apps. Also they have great cocktails selection.

The interior is provided a cozy experience with fine end chandeliers and excellent seating arrangements with pre set tables. Despite this I think they rushed the hiring process considering the service felt subpar at best. We Shared all of our burgers to give a proper taste of the items and my party settled on the Eureka Burger and the double smash as the best for a classic American burger. The bison was my second choice since it was a sweet caramelized flavor. Fresno fig had a strong goat cheese taste, but was still sweet. Overall I think this place has a lot of potential in improving their service and taste of the food. I would personally come again later on in the year and see if it improves.

Are there typically long lines to be seated? Is it large enough to seat a table of 6?

It definitely depends on the night you go. On the weekends it gets pretty busy around 7ish (especially if there's a concert nearby), but most weekdays are okay.

    Is there gluten free option?

We have our “naked” option which takes away the bun and serves your choice of item on a bed of arugula with our house-made lemon vinaigrette.

For our drinks, I had the Moonlight Blossom, my aunt had a glass of red wine, and my mom had a cucumber mint spritzer (mocktail as she was the DD). The moonlight blossom tasted similar to cherry limeade. The entrees we had were the mussels, veggie burger, and the chef's market pizza. The mussels themselves were tasty and appreciated that they were able to leave out the chorizo. However, I wish that they brought a spoon and there was more broth. I tried some of my mom's veggie burger and the red color from the beets made it stand out from the usual veggie burger. The fries tasted homemade. I had a slice of the pizza and while I like the ingredients themselves, the combination just didn't do it for me. The crust was good though! We also shared a green goddess salad, which was tasty. The desserts looked amazing but we had no room! Service was friendly and our waitress made good recommendations. Can park on the side streets or the garage. Restaurant was not noisy. Would come back to try other items, especially dessert.

I got the vegan spicy tomato pizza and my friend got the shakshouka. We also got some herbal tea to go on the side. The tea came out pretty quickly and tasted great. The food also came out pretty quickly. The presentation of the pizza was top notch and I could not wait to dig in. The portion size was adequate. The vegan cheese was yummy and the spice level of the pizza was just right. The pizza was packed with flavor and thin crust! My friend liked the shakshouka too. He said it was flavorful and tasted great! Over all, we loved this restaurant. The ambiance is very welcoming and they have farm to table concept. You can select between 4 different items should you choose this appetizer. We ended up selecting the smoked duck breast and chicken pâté. Both of these options were excellent with the duck breast coming topped with a small amount of flake salt. These starters were also served with crostini, mustard & pickles, and a fruit spread. The mustard provided some nice balance to the richness of the proteins. Additionally, we ordered a little gem salad which was solid. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but good. For my main, I went with the chicken thigh. The thigh was cooked to perfection with an excellent crust and rich sauce surrounding it. The meat was tender and flavorful. I also think the charred vegetables added an interesting bitterness to the meal. We both ordered dirty martinis which were also excellently balanced (extra olive juice of course). Overall, our meal was excellent. The food was good and the vibes were right. Our servers were attentive and friendly. I've heard word that Wood Tavern will be closing down soon unfortunately.
