The burgers were great. The fries, aight. (I, sadly, did not order the sweet potato fries with honey.) My greatest disappointment was the service. I was part of a larger party and had to stack the dirty and used dishware in an effort to declutter the table. I don't think a single person was offered a glass of water. But, worse, I had to argue with the server in order to get my bill split. He kept saying, "Well, she said to do just one bill. It was rather annoying. If I ever visited again, I would take my food to go. read more

Any place that looks as classy and clean like this, has a full bar, AND corn dog lollipops is an instant winner in my book. Partook in the happy hour gloriousness and enjoyed every second of it. The drink menu has a lot of beers on draft with multiple local brews, fun and tasty cocktails, and even wine to educate the fancy side of your pallet. The corn dog pops were awesome! there are three different dipping sauces for them: the all american ketchup, honey Dijon, and a cheesy like dip that you would typically see with a Bavarian pretzel. Six come with an order so make sure you share with your table-mates. read more

Eureka! - The lolly's - Burgers Near Me - Berkeley, California

Drinks are probably the best thing about Eureka, but even they are a bit basic and the whiskeys here are very pricey. The naked chicken I had is wrapped in prosciutto over arugula but that unfortunately didn't save the thinly sliced chicken from being overcooked. The fries were undercooked which just left the experience as another unimaginative version of American food. Hoping the cooks here learn to treat ingredients with a bit more love in the future. read more

Sunday brunch. Not much of a selection for vegetarians. Had a salad which had this great lemon balsamic dressing. Tasty! And side of onion rings - boring. Those weren't anything special or worth the price tag. Lacked seasoning or even a special tasty sauce for dipping. TVs to watch football. Service was attentive. Cool bar area. It's a nice place. Meat eaters might enjoy this place more. Vibe is cool just missed the target for me. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on a Sunday at 6, no wait to be seated. Love the design of this place, especially the big open window facing the street. We ordered bruschetta appetizer (3 stars, the tomatoes did not taste/look fresh and the balsamic vinegar makes it too tangy), fried chicken sliders (4 stars), and my bf had the tortilla burger or something, can't quite remember. But his was really really really messy.. hard to hold and as soon as he bit into it the sauce came oozing out. I enjoyed my sliders though. And the truffle sauce is amazing! Service was pretty good considering our server seemed to be in charge of a lot of tables. Digging the atmosphere so I would definitely come back! read more

One of my favorite places to eat hands down. The food is amazing, very good and consistent. Lots of beer chases with rotating taps as well. Friendly people, nice decor. They have live music nights as well. Sometimes I wish it was a Dj. Right next to Berkeley college, parking all around (paid parking I'll 6pm). You're close to everything that happens in Berkeley but seems like everything is happening here now. Gives the sports bar kind of feel without the pool table and loud annoying overly commuted sports fan. They do have tvs, and plenty of seating. Can get busy though, especially weekend nights. All the workers have been great except for one, and I think he's a manager now so won't have to deal with him anymore. All other workers have been great, helping, and hard working. Have had most the food on the menu and nothing is less than good. Great happy hour, and it starts again at 9pm. read more

Eureka has delicious burgers and great service! On my most recent visit, I ordered a Cowboy Burger and my partner ordered a Fresno Fig Burger. This was my third time coming to Eureka and I am so amazed by the consistency of their food and service. Our servers were warm, welcoming, and helpful. The burgers and fries were absolutely delicious. I believe that they make their own sauces, so make sure you try the ranch and ketchup! Their creamy ranch is my all time favorite, and the ketchup has a very nice zesty note. I will definitely be heading back to Eureka! read more

me and my party came here to have dinner and our server zachary was very passive aggressive from the start, he did not put in our order for two of our meals which came 20 minutes late after the rest our party was finished, no one attended us and and it was terrible service. we asked to get compensated and we're not. our server then left and was gone missing for 25 min. we had to ask another service. i wouldn't of wrote this review if the food was mind blowing so here we are. safe to say we won't return after our server finally returned and sort of threw our bill on the table read more

A great experience. Brings a much-needed restaurant to Berkeley. This is a great place for awesome burgers, amazing beer selection and a nice ambiance--and reasonable prices. We tried the truffle fries. They could have been crispier, but they were still good. I absolutely loved my vodka burger cooked rare. It was great and the burger was cooked perfectly. The toppings were very unique and yummy. The bun was good too! My brother liked the napa burger a lot. The side salad was good and the coleslaw was excellent!! Awesome place! Can't wait to go back!!! read more

It was a good place with great apps and a strong craft beer selection. As with most places in the area the drinks are way over priced but the food makes it worth it. I have it four star because the service was a bit sloppy and took a very long time to get our food and check. read more

First, did this place used to be a super-sketchy cheap Chinese cafeteria? The decor is modern and stylish. The noise level was perfect-- buzzy when crowded, but no need to shout at your dining companion. Our server was friendly, but I don't think she ever came back to check how our food was. The food also took a bit longer than expected. It might be a problem for many who are on their lunch breaks. I got the Fresno Fig Burger with fries. I asked for it to be well done, it came medium rare. Not a big deal. The burger was delicious. The French fries were average. I think this is a great addition to Downtown Berkeley. And I wish it success. read more

Good food, awesome décor, and very cool staff. Took clients here for lunch and they were as impressed as I was. The managers are very knowledgeable about the food and drinks and willing to cater to whatever your palate craves. They are in tune with gluten sensitivities; make sure you ask one of the managers about what is and what is not gluten-free. When in doubt talk to Chelsea; she is one of the staff members who is actually allergic to gluten and she knows exactly what you can and cannot eat. I look forward to going back to this place very soon! read more

Loved this place. A group of us (5) decided to get dinner here on a Saturday night. The wait was about 50 minutes (they told us 30-40) so we thought they better be dang good! Well they certainly delivered. The waitress seemed ok - they were pretty busy, and she was kind of inattentive (we had to ask her for waters, and had to flag her down to put in our meal orders). But once she got our orders in (burgers all around, cocktails, and a couple appetizers), the food came out quickly, and she got all the special orders 100% correct. The burgers were delicious. The meat is high quality, and my medium-rare burger came out exactly as I wanted it. The wings appetizer was really good too, with their 2 house-sauces. And the cocktails were well-proportioned. I will definitely go back next time I am in Berkeley. read more

Many times the question has been asked, "Where can I find the best burger in the Bay Area?" I too, have asked this question on many occasions, as if the answer will fulfill my life's mission. I swear, if I hear The Counter, Gott's, The Habit, or In-n-Out mentioned one more time I'm going to start flipping tables. These are fine establishments to visit when you're in the mood for something classic, quick, no-frills, decent. There are way better options for a classic "quick" burger. With Eureka, we're talking a different ballgame. Thicker patties, peculiar combinations of condiments, and above all: variety. But what it really comes down to are the ingredients and consistency. Their beef is excellent in my opinion, juicy and flavorful, and always cooked deliciously rare at my request. My two favorite burgers here are the cowboy and the fig one. They both pair wonderfully with the sweet potato fries, sans-honey, which are some of the best I've had (note: I prefer less crunchy and more "meaty" fries). The buns are delicious, the bacon is top-notch and I LOVE their BBQ sauce (more on the sweet side). So is Eureka the best burger in the Bay Area? For me, it's up there. I've honestly never left disappointed. Couple that with their craft beer selection and it's a no-brainer for date nights, especially when the dubs are playing. read more

I came here with my bf for his 21st birthday. The atmosphere is trendy and simple, with ample people-watching space. My bf ordered the craft beer sampler (four small beers). The waitress helped him select the beers, since he wasn't really familiar with them, and he got a nice mixed selection. He said the dark beer was a little too intense for him, but I warned him that that would be the case :p Food wise, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which was sooo good. Sometimes grilled chicken sandwiches can be on the bland side-definitely not the case here! The combination of the amazing bread, pesto aioli, and avocado made for a great sandwich. The fries on the side were ok (my bf loved them). He ordered the Pearl Street Blues burger, which he also liked a lot. He said the bleu cheese didn't overpower the burger like he feared it might. Overall a very pleasant dining experience here. I look forward to returning :) read more

To begin with, they are expensive for what you get and the burgers are small. In the photos they look big but they are not comparable in size to other places. However, American restaurants serve too many large portions. Also, this way one probably won't waste their food because they will eat it all. Size wise it is enough. Even when I ask for my burger well done including in the notes it it medium or medium well at best. I eat Eureka food when I want to eat out because I can get the lettuce wrap cheeseburger, and the side salad with arugula, bleu cheese and craisins instead of a bun and fries. Again the portion sizes are smaller too so it is enough to be full but not overeat. I am going to try chicken breast, broccolini and the caesar salad next though I really like their $2.50 side salad. Their kids burger and fry meal is huge and worth the price. They didn't slack i anyway on those. I have only ordered through delivery so I don't have any insight on service. My orders have been correct and prepared in a timely manner each time (outside of medium/well done preference). The items are also delivered in plastic containers with sealed lids, then place in a paper bag with handles that is safety sealed with 2 stickers. Overall, they are good. read more

Your basic burgers and bourbon place. (Tongue in cheek, because burgers and bourbon is not a common combination.) I've been a Scotch guy for eons but a taste of the Old Fashioned made here is enough to prompt me to consider a return to the whiskey of my youth. Ahh, simply the best Old Fashioned I've had in - well - decades. Oh yeah, they serve food here too! Who would of thought the combination of burgers and bourbon would complement each other? Well, they do. The inch-thick patty was cooked perfectly with a slight pinkish interior, juices flowing from the bite. Not overcooked and pounded thin for quick grilling. Perhaps a half-pound? The Napa Burger I had was a tasty refreshing creation with the saltiness of panchetta combining nicely with spicy arugula, the Havarti cheese and pesto aoli. My mouth is watering at the memory of that burger. And what's the perfect complement to the burger? Crispy hand-cut fries, of course. The bar scene can get hectic and overwhelm the single bartender. It took 15 minutes to get my drink, for example. But Eureka! is a new place and they are still trying to learn their staffing needs. Its a comfortable, casual room but can fill quickly after a Cal athletic event even though the prices can drive students away when cheaper choices are just down the street and around the corner. Television sets all around the room make it easy to keep track of the new ways Cal's football team can get blown out of a game. A wall of windows opens up to create an outside-inside feel letting the cool Berkeley air flow in. Heaters allow for temperature control in case the fog rolls in. There are other items on the menu that might suit a student budget but the burgers are the stars. I'll be back for sure. I'm anxious to try their bourbon flight. Eureka! is part of a small chain of restaurants but don't let that put you off. I guess the Berkeley planning commission didn't know that or they might not have Eureka! set up shop in Berkeley. For once, I'm glad they didn't know that or I never would have stumbled upon it. Apparently, a lot of people are finding Eureka! read more

Went here for dinner with a bunch of friends. We ended up having a large group of about 8 or so. We already had a reservation so there was no problem being seated. Our server was absolutely amazing and very attentive. He made sure we all had enough to drink and eat and even recommending his favorites or must try on the menu. They have a bar so if you feel like a beer just won't cut it with that burger you can get something a little stronger. I ended up having the Napa burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and was well seasoned. The fries had cinnamon and honey on them which was an interesting twist. There is plenty of parking next door in the garage or there's another garage across the street. The decor is inviting and definitely allows for a fun night out with friends for dinner or even just to grab drinks. read more

After thoroughly reading the menu online and checking out the great reviews on yelp, I decided to head here with my friend on Friday night. I should mention, I came here after celebrating a coworker's birthday at happy hour so I was a bit buzzed so that might have influenced my experience. So we get to Eureka! and this place is popping. We put our name on the waitlist and the hostess tells us there's a 30 minute wait but for two people it shouldn't be that long. My dear friend and I don't mind because we have time, so we sit around talking until we receive a text saying our table is ready. We probably only waited 15 minutes so I'm already liking this place. Overestimate the wait so customers are pleasantly surprised when the table is ready before. The service here is a bit spotty. I don't think they assign one server to a set of tables so we interacted with different servers every time. The restaurant was pretty packed so the food took a while to come out so minus one star for that. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are in a hurry. But the food is delicious. I ordered the tortilla turkey burger with a bun and my friend ordered the cowboy bison burger. The turkey burger was awesome. Usually whenever I order turkey burgers, it's just turkey meat with no seasoning but not at Eureka! Everything tasted amazing. My friend really enjoyed his bison burger, he said it was the best burger he's had in a while. So overall, I would definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

This is an amazing lunch spot and even though I have not been here in the evening for dinner, I expect it to be extremely busy. So far, I've been here twice, once ordered the fish tacos as a meal, which were delectable. The second time, I ordered their equivalent to a Swiss burger, it was a mighty fine burger. The tab is presented on a mini clipboard, and the two times I've been there loose change is never given back, check your change and tip accordingly. read more

(: Boba-Foodholic Says :) This was my first time trying out with my friend in first visit in Berkeley. I was surprised by their interior design, which was so cool and neat, so eco style :) Since it is street parking, it might be hard to find a parking lot. There is two parking garages: (1) right beside this restaurant - $2.50/hour; (2) right across from this restaurant - $2/hour. I recommend that you park at the (2) parking garage which is $0.50 per hour than the (1). First, their service was awesome, which the server welcomed us and led us to our seat. Then our actual server took our orders with smile :) We ordered Lollipop Corn Dog as an appetizer, which was so cute and awesome! It comes with homemade ketchup, mustard, and ranch with 5 pieces. Then we ordered Jalapeño Egg Burger and Cowboy burger. It is big so I shared with my friend and my boyfriend finished it all. You can change the fries with other fries, so changed to onion ring (only 3 pieces :() and cinnamon sweet potato). Their burgers are really juicy and their homemade sauce is so delicious! I really like this place, I would definitely come back for different burgers. The price was not that expensive, which was $31 total! read more

Mediocre food and terrible service. We made a reservation and called twice to confirm it. Then got there and they didn't have it down so they made us wait almost an hour to get our table after telling us it would be only 15 minutes. It was over and hour and a half till we got food. read more

I like the food overall but the service is EXTREMELY careless. I normally order takeout via delivery apps, and the food quality in the takeouts are at least 50% worse than when you eat in at the restaurant. The portions are half size smaller for the same price, missing items are a norm and the salad dressing is MIXED INTO THE SALAD when it arrives. Isn't it common sense in the restaurant business to leave the dressing on the side when the food is being delivered so the customer doesn't get stuck with mushy lettuce and an excessive amount of dressing she doesn't want? So for gods sake PLEASE improve your customer service. Who would want to eat in if the food being delivered is so damn bad??? read more

Food is always great, service is usually slow. Will come back, but expect to spend a while waiting..

A decent burger place. I went with my husband and brother-in-law for dinner. We got the firecracker wings and riblets as apps. I wasn't too impressed. The riblets were a bit dry. The wings were average. Now for the good, the veggie burger was good (if you don't like when veggie burgers try to taste like beef, which I don't). You can get any of the burgers as a veggie burger FYI. The American burger was a solid 8 out of 10. My bro-in-law enjoyed the bison burger. Also, their fried Mac and cheese balls are the equivalent of crack (and a heart attack rolled up into a ball of yummyness). Service was good and the atmosphere was sort of a sophisticated sports bar vibe (if there is such a thing). Solid 3 stars. read more

This place was phenomenal! The manager Matt was our first server, come to find out he is one of the managers! An operation where the manager takes care of customers is one focused on customer service. What a great first impression! Then there was Charlie, the bar tender with a plethora of knowledge about this wonderfully blossoming company! He was amazing... We brought our 6 year old and 2 year old along on this first journey and it was a great experience for them as well. The kids Mac and Cheese was amazing and everything was so fresh! The corn dogs are like nothing you have ever experienced! Beer choices were unreal, the whole bar was great! For the same price as Applebee's, except you get REAL food, great food at that! Met a couple friends at Eureka! on a Thursday night in January. The dining areas were full, but the bar is open, and we got on the waiting list. Got to try 4 beers in their sampler for $9. Costs a little more than their most expensive pint ($8 for a strong ale, I think), but they had so many craft beers I hadn't tried that it was worth it. We were seated shortly after we got drinks. There was live music -- acoustic guitar and fiddle with occasional eh-eh singing and the occasional abomination of a cover. But it was good background to the evening. They have an open front with heaters warming the seats by the street, which was also nice, although at the same time I think it's a little terrible and stupid to heat outdoors -- they do this at Comal and Jupiter too... We ordered their appetizer of fries at 8:50 pm (~$7.75), then discovered Happy Hour starts at 9 with $4 fries. The waiter was happy to cancel our order until 9 pm so we could pay the Happy Hour price, which made us like him. The fries were great, but the $5 nachos were even better. All the appetizers are good deals during Happy Hour. (Happy Hour is after 9 pm till close Monday through Thursday!) They emphasize craft beers and whisky. Seems like it would be a good bar for a dinner date. Similar atmosphere to Comal. People seem to be dressed decently, mostly professionals, not many college age kids. Not a good "singles" bar. read more

Eureka! - Your momma 80's style taco salad! - Burgers Near Me - Berkeley, California

The burger was yummy, but the fries were passable. One of the most notable problem with them was that they were all under 1.5 inches in length. Strange size and certainly hard to dip your fries in the catsup when you are only gripping onto a tiny nub of potato with your finger tips! The worst thing was the service. My waiter was utterly unavailable. When I first arrived I sat for 15 mins until someone finally came to my table, no water offered, no comments that they'd be with me shortly, and no apologies when she finally came over. After taking my order, my waiter disappeared for the rest of my meal. I didn't even see her walking around the floor so that I could wave her down at the end of my meal. When I was finished I waited for another 15 minutes for someone to take notice that I was ready for the check, but every waiter or server on the floor avoided eye contact with me at all costs. There was no way that I could have waved anyone down. I finally gave up trying to catch someone's eye, and asked for the check at the host's station. read more

Unmerited hullabaloo The salmon dinner sounded divine. The reality ... not so much: A miniscule piece of dried-out fish, on a gargantuan bed of bitter greens. And I waited 45 minutes for this?!
