Etnosvêt is an excellent vegan / vegetarian restaurant in Prague. Sometimes being on vacation, I just crave some good vegetarian options. This place fits the description and more. It's a very worldly affair with many ethnic creations from all over the world. They note that their food creations have no borders. And it showcases in their menu. For dinner they have a tasting menu or a la carte option. We opted for the a la carte option. For appetizers we ordered fried spring rolls with mock Peking duck which consisted of seitan, hoisin sauce, cucumber, mint coulis, and light dressing. These rolls were excellent. For the main course I had cocoa ravioli with Gorgonzola, pears, walnuts, and beetroots. One of the most creative pastas I have ate and it was excellent. And Sam M had fried sushi with avocado, smoked carrots and other veggies. So good in taste as well. In drinks, they had creative lemonades and teas. I ordered the hibiscus elderberry iced tea. Sam M ordered a tropical style lemonade. Both drinks were refreshing. Service was attentive and good. This place is worth a try for some creative foods items. ~ read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant in Prague. The food was beautifully prepared, highly diverse, and truly an "experience." This was a few years ago. Upon my most recent visit the food was overpriced and mediocre. The tofu makhani dish was so sweet I found it inedible. One of the starters, advertized as a kind of camembert and fig puff was comprised of stale crackers with a slice of cheese on it...for a steep price. This restaurant got flagged as one of the top ten vegetarian restaurants in Prague, so my wife and I decided to give it a shot. Very pretty ambience and spaced out seating arrangement. We ordered vegan spring rolls and creamy carrot soup for starters. Spring rolls had nice flavors, they used seitan (fake meat) and weren't oily at all. Soup was creamy and had good taste of ginger and carrots. We tried Srilankan broccoli roti for main course, which was almost like fried Indian paratha with broccoli and carrot filling -- it was blend and bit oily. We came here for dinner on St. Patrick's day so it wasn't too crowded. We were really impressed with the food! It was a great day to dine here because they had some fun specials starting with a tofu-based amuse bouche in Irish flag colors. After that tasty bite, we had the steak tartar appetizer. It sounded pretty different so we had to give it a shot. It was very nice, like a dip, and it was accompanied by great rye crisps. For entrees, my husband had the mock wellington, one of the chef recommended dishes. He really liked it, but my beef shephard's pie (from the specials menu) stole the show. It's awesome as a vegetarian when you have to use your fork and knife. The "beef" had a toothsome texture and was swimming in a savory sauce. I didn't think I had room for dessert, but my husband insisted we get the Guinness chocolate cake from the specials menu since my entree was so good. Chocolate cake is usually decent, but this dessert was above and beyond expectations. I'd recommend getting dessert here any time. The dinner was reasonably priced, but be aware that you have to pay for water no matter what, even tap water. Each carafe is about $3 so make sure you finish your supply if you get a second one. read more

One of the best vegetarian/ vegan meals i've ever had! Got the "Peking "Duck" with chinese pancakes and it was deliciousss. There were two sauces, I liked the plum (?) better but a mix of both was good too. Also got the apple crumble for dessert and I think I'll have to come back for that. The service was attentive and really nice, although there was some confusion about what language to talk to us, even though we spoke Czech from the beginning :D Overall a 10/10 experience, would recommend! read more

There is a lot of room here but we still made a reservation. The interior was beautiful and so cozy to sit in! They have circle tables great for a large group of 4-5. Etnosvet happened to be across the street from my rental, so I felt really lucky to find a place my first night in town that had gluten-free & vegan options with zero effort. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice - clean and welcoming. My server was very sweet and helpful. The food was delicious - I had the injera, which while it didn't quite taste like authentic Ethiopian (more of a lighter, cleaner version), was delicious just the same. Healthy food is good :) The only drawback was the prices. It is an upscale restaurant so I expected to pay a bit more, especially for the high quality of ingredients, but prices were still quite high for The Czech Republic. I'd like to go back and try something from the full menu - maybe that would feel more equitable for the prices. read more

What an amazingly delicious meal from start to finish! We desperately needed a break from beef and pork after traveling Europe for two weeks, and this hit the spot. The food was prepared carefully and presented beautifully, and the taste was just incredible. The waitstaff worked somewhat in tandem, but our main server was very kind and helpful. Be sure to make a reservation though - we went at 7:30 and they were booked, but made us a reservation on the spot for 9:00. This used to be my favorite place for vegetarian meal in Prague but unfortunately the new chef is not up to the former standards... From platting to taste or quality of the components, many things have changed except the prices... It is a shame to see such a great concept and menu going down several divisions like that. One of the best vegetarian restaurants, at any price, anywhere. Dishes are flavorful, complex, creative. I am not a fan of the use of salt as a flavour trick, and this place does not over salt. The "scallops" were delicious with great texture. The service is great; prices are very reasonable. An amazing contrast to the usual meat and potatoes in Prague. We were having too much meaty dishes during our trip, so we figured the reviews for this restaurant appeals to even the meat eater, why not try it! So we did! And it definitely exceeded expectations! All of the dishes were delicious and very creative. The cucumber edamame dish is a favorite. The ravioli is good too. Somehow we were stuffed after the meal even though we didn't eat any meat. The prices were on the higher end for non-meat dishes. And we probably shouldn't have sat outside on a cooler evening. And it was a bit dark. Absolutely the BEST. I came here on my second night in Prague because they were all booked the first night we came. So, definitely make a reservation and it will be so worth it. With a broad cocktail menu, my friend and I started with Moscow Mules (my favorite) and wow, were they delicious. They were super ginger-y and just sweet enough. They were super fun to drink too, out of huge, almost spherical, glasses. As a starter, we got little vegan bread buns in a literal burlap sack, a very cute touch. The bread was crispy on the outside and perfectly soft and moist inside. For entrees, along with another round of Moscow Mules, I ordered the rice noodles with tempeh. The sauce was light and felt fresh, and the tempeh was perfectly seasoned and grilled. Yummy shards of sesame bark also added a bit of crunch and sweetness that went perfectly with the soft noodles. As a side, we also split an order of naan that was perfectly fluffy, warm and just buttery enough. I reccomend this to anyone in the Prague area, vegans and non-vegans alike. With an extensive menu covering various cuisines, there is bound to be something to please everyone. I hope to be back one day, I need to try their veggie burgers which look to die for. The ambience was also very comfortable and trendy, lots of natural details, like light fixtures hanging above the tables that were mounted in tree branches. Have been traveling around Europe for two weeks and this was my favorite meal of the trip! I'm not vegetarian and usually don't love vegan/vegetarian food but this was AMAZING. Coming from LA, I've had my fair share of vegan/vegetarian, but this was the best by far. I loved the tofu in the Caesar salad and the coconut tempura was absolutely delicious (especially the sauces!!) Also really loved the mock Peking duck. The vegan steak tartar was my least favorite.
