We visited Ethiopia Down Under because my wife visited Ethiopia last year.
Starting with a shared entree of spiced lentil samosas, we both really enjoyed the flavor packed parcels. The main dishes we ordered (Doro Tibbs and Gomen) were delightfully tasty, full of flavor and positively bursting with traditional spices.
Each main meal comes with Injera (traditional sour pancake/bread) which was very similar in taste and texture to what was served in Ethiopia, despite not being able to buy all the traditional ingredients. When ordering, extra injera is a must, the light bread is too yummy to not have enough for the whole meal, it doesn't stretch far enough.
The homemade ginger beer and lemonade was low fizz, but really yummy too.
Concluding the meal with some fruity (mango and coconut and pineapple) sorbet was icing on the cake.
Quick service and friendly staff completed the occasion. We will be back. read more
