Etex tech support is EXCEPTIONAL. Seriously. If you were to call anywhere else you would not get the kind of professional, considerate, knowledgeable or just plain good folk than ETEX Tech support. I spoke to Sam today with ETEX Tech Support because my internet was a little sporadic as far as connection. Sam was so helpful and listened to my concerns. He talked me thru the process of resetting the router and doing what he could on his end and now everything is running smoothly. Any time I have had to talk to someone @ Etex, which isn't much, they have always been so nice and helpful. You cant find that in a large town! Thanks ETEX! Keep it up. Thanks again Sam! read more

I called on 4/3/20 to see what a misc charge was 53.00 on my bill. She claimed my internet was shut off in Feb for one day due to paying on the 11th and not the 10th. We are in hard times going through coronavirus right now and money is very tight in order to eat or do without and then a Company will do this to you. Very sorry!!! After 10 years they decided to remove my call waiting feature because I'm not "bundling". I have telephone and internet. They do not consider this bundling apparently. So they will give me back call waiting for $1.70 per month. That's really really bad business read more

I have increased my rating to 5 stars because Etex upgraded my service to 75 MBS at no additional charge from the 20 MBS I had without me having to ask. What a huge jump in customer service! I hope this kind of service continues. I typically now get 80 to 85 MBS service too. This is the way to make a customer loyal by exceeding expectations! I had over 100 MBS service in the San Francisco Bay Area, but this is by far the best that I have had in East Texas! read more

Internet is hit or miss. when it's goog it's great, but like right now I'm testing it at 4am and the way its been all day, it royally sucks. I can't even get ETEX speed test to run. Plus having to pay for a phone and 911 service just to get internet is rediculous. I pay $60 a month for internet, plus $45 for phone service I don't use and altogether for 20MB down, 3 up it 123 a month. Installation runs $150 regardless if the homeowners before you had it. But what can you do as they have a monopoly here. Take it or leave it. read more

My wife and I purchased a router because the basic one they provide doesn't broadcast strong enough to our home. We contacted them and asked if we could turn in the router and have the monthly Router fee dropped off our bill. Gladly! We took it in but instead of dropping the fee, the created a disconnect order and shut off our entire internet service! When I contacted them they acted like it was our fault and said they had to put in a "reconnect" order for us and it could take up to 24 hours?!? They were able to shut off my service instantaneously but can't turn it back on the same way? Do we live in the 21st century? Adrian indicated they would put a "rush" on things through the different departments so it might happen sooner, but why the red tape? Turn it back on for crying out loud! Pathetic! The speed you actually receive is not what you pay for. Is that legal? There are also frequent periods of "stalling" during downloads that may last up to 45 seconds. Yes, I have timed them. It seriously makes one want to move out of this area. We have contacted the company regarding these issues. We are willing to pay for a higher speed but that is not an option "in our location". On the upside, this has brought back so many good memories. Like yelling at siblings to get off the phone so you can get online. It's like dial up all over again. Ah, good times. read more

ETEX is crap. Don't get even close to what you pay for when it comes to their internet . I recommend Hallsnet. I canceled ETEX the first of the year and have saved over $200. And all I had was the lowest tv package. So far with Hallsnet, I have gotten all the speed I pay for and most of the time I get even faster than the plan I pay for. Their upload and download speeds are the same. Get internet from Hallsnet and stream your tv. Drop ETEX if you like saving money. What's sad is I really wish ETEX was different because I have several family members and friends from church that make their living there. So I don't like bashing them. Im just being honest and telling my personal experience. For many families, that much savings can make a big difference! This speed test is from my Hallsnet internet service that I pay for 10 Mbps. I have their services and I'm good with it but as for my moms service on the same property the lady I spoke to was very rude!! My mom wanted the same setup as mine for fiber but they assumed we were going to use our own router instead of asking us if we'd like to use theirs!! In order to use theirs you have to ask for it?!?! I think it should be OFFERED at least! People aren't tech savvy! So now we have to pay $75 for them to come out and install a router when they should've done it when they installed her service!!! Worst internet provider ever. Techs (which are great) have been to my home 15 times in less than a year. Moved up to 75 (or though they say) when son was staying with me and service got worse. "Fiber optics" is a joke. Now, I'm streaming one device and I can't even load a site. Requested Etex to go back to prior plan, but told they no longer offer it. What? WAYYY better than what you'll pay for here and much better customer service. At directv didn't charge me a cancellation fee for moving when they didn't service where i went even when i signed a contract with them. Thankfully I'll be switching services. For the last four hours, i've been sitting here with over 1000 ping trying to play video games, and unable to react to anything due to it taking 5-10 seconds to respond to my inputs. 1/10. Wouldn't recommend. You should(should've) just focused on 1 thing like you have "TV, Internet & More" just go for one thing. The Internet is complete shit as it is but when someone gets on wifi or TV while your playing a game or something it drops even more. Too late to go back now though. Expand..
