Our niece's 15th party on 7/12 had several issues starting with the setup. Two main decor features listed in the contract were not installed. When we raised this with the manager on duty, Mr. Sergio , we were told these features were missing and too late to be set up. The decor manager should have proactively informed us about the shortfall and arranged a credit for the missing items, but no communication was made. The decor manager did not hold any accountability that she list some decor in the ballroom. The maintenance of the ballroom also showed a significant decline. Four industrial portable AC units were in use--was this communicated beforehand? Was the main AC not functioning? If so, should we receive compensation for this? Additionally, many ceiling tiles had visible water stains hidden behind fabric. Why weren't these replaced? It feels like an attempt to hide the damage. The gold glass tables inside were dirty and not cleaned before the event as well. Customer service at the bar was equally disappointing. The bartender, Patricia, displayed a poor attitude, was slow, and lacked the energy expected in her role. My father-in-law even had to step behind the bar to help because of her slow service, which offended her. She also cut people off arbitrarily, handling the situation poorly and causing discomfort for many guests. A bartender should be upbeat, efficient, and courteous, none of which were evident. On a positive note, the manager Sergio was great trying to resolve these issues, though the decor manager did not support him well and clearly needs retraining on client communication and decor management. Overall, this experience was hugely disappointing, especially given the high price and reputation La Fontaine portrays was not refilled and run down. I hope my feedback is taken seriously to improve the quality of service in the future.

My fiancé and I got engaged in Jan 2019 and after venue shopping and planning, we were referred to Yvette in May 2019. At the time, we decided to not do a pop up since we ended up deciding to do a wedding on a cruise in 2020. Well obviously that fell apart thanks to the pandemic! Yvette was there to save the day! We were hoping things would get better in 2020 but COVID cases kept rising so we said screw it, let's do the pop up wedding! And we are SO happy that we did! We didn't want to do a huge party and spend thousands on a wedding but we got the upscale wedding look for so much less. Yvette and her team were offering these COVID packages (see their Instagram to see if still on going) and we had an officiant, seating for 25, cake, photographer venue and decorations all for under $2000. My family was worried that since we were spending significantly less than the average wedding cost that it wouldn't be as nice. In fact, we were criticized prior to the wedding, but then the day of the wedding arrived and they were in awe. It was so romantic and beautiful. Yvette and her team added flowers, candles and just made the night so magical. The cake was delicious and over all the experience was dreamy and magical. Pop Up Weddings Houston also go beyond the pop up wedding bookings. Yvette does weddings of all sizes! They actually do wedding give aways on their instagram so check it out if you're recently engaged! They also work with vendors/partners who provide live streaming services, photo booths and more! Anyways, major thanks to Pop Up Wedding Houston! I am totally referring my engaged friends to them! Note: Once I receive my wedding photos I'll update my review to show you all how gorgeous the venue was!

Mandy went above and beyond during my bridal appointment and I could not have done it without her! The prices were definitely reasonable and the dresses were high quality. I am going to recommend this bridal salon to so many people in the future! The only negative I had with this bridal shop was the lack of sizes. They had a ton of the dresses in smaller sizes below a size 8 and it did make it hard to envision the dress that did not fit correctly. I really hope they make a change in the future to include more dress sizes above a size 8. Also, if they are having a sale you could get a dress or accessories like a vail for a reasonable price!

Update 10/14/24…read more Emily contacted the bride and asked us to remove our "untrue" reviews. So not only is she horrible, she's oblivious and entitled. I honor my badge as an elite yelper and high ranked Google reviewer and I RARELY leave 1-2 star reviews. If someone got a low rating, it was with reason! As the maid of honor for the bride, I had the chance to witness much of the planning and coordination with Emily, the wedding planner from Occasional Events. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired, and there were several regrets about hiring her. The bride's mother had fired their original planner to book Emily after attending another wedding she had coordinated, but it turned out to be a decision we wish hadn't been made. From the start, things felt disorganized, and the stress of the wedding day was amplified by Emily's lack of preparation. The wedding rehearsal was chaotic. It was a hot day at the end of summer, and Emily kept us all outside for much longer than necessary due to unclear directions, causing unnecessary mistakes and confusion. The bride's 85-year-old grandfather was visibly struggling with the heat, yet Emily seemed more focused on redoing the aisle walk than showing any consideration for him. When the bride decided she didn't want all 8 of her bridesmaids to stand up front during the ceremony, Emily was insistent that she would regret it, even arguing with us about it. She even suggested taking a vote on the matter, which left us all shocked--this was the bride's wedding, not a democracy! Additionally, she interrupted the bride during hair and makeup to ask who was folding napkins for dinner--a question that could have easily been asked of someone else. Only the aisle walk was rehearsed, and after the ceremony, no one knew where to go or what to do. The cocktail hour re-entry for the newlyweds was another disaster, with constant changes on where we should walk, adding more confusion. One glaring moment of disappointment was at the end of the night when the parting gifts were not ready for guests to take. Family members of the bride had to scramble to put them out, and many guests missed out on them entirely. The sparkler exit was also poorly handled--Emily didn't have the getaway car ready, and by the time it arrived, the sparklers were already burning out. To top it off, Emily and her assistant were seen eating before the bride's parents, which felt incredibly disrespectful. The biggest issue, however, was Emily's overall absence during the wedding. We rarely saw her, and she was not readily available to troubleshoot issues or guide the day smoothly. Her lack of presence and organization made the entire experience more stressful than it needed to be. In the end, we sincerely wish we had gone with a planner who was more organized and focused on making the day less chaotic, instead of adding to the stress. I wouldn't recommend Emily for anyone looking for a smooth and well-organized wedding day.

I contracted Emily after I saw her in action at a good friend's daughter's wedding in Conroe, TX…read more .She agreed to travel to San Antonio to do my daughter's wedding in September 2024. My major complaint- she over promises and under delivers, I was so disappointed! She started off great and once she was paid she did very little other than the timeline. If you consider using Emily and Occassionals, I suggest that you interview other wedding planner and coordinator companies. Construct a list of duties for Emily, add the duties (in detail) and your expectations to an additional contract for her to sign. Once Emily was paid in full, she wanted to charge for every additional duty, which I thought came natural to a wedding planner- coordinator. Thank goodness, my sister, my brother-in-law, and my best friend saved my daughter's wedding. We were also blessed to have great vendors (not affiliated with Emily or Occassionals). Emily refused to fold the napkins which arrived unfolded. When asked why, she said, "it was not in the contract." She also rushed off (at the venue rehearsal ) before all the wedding logistics were discussed. Looking back on my daughter's wedding, this was not money well spent...
