    Kanga’s Indoor Playcenter & Cafe - Room

    Kanga’s Indoor Playcenter & Cafe

My nephew loved his 3rd birthday party at Kanga's!…read more I flew in, so I'd never heard of this place. It's pretty easy to spot, with plenty of outdoor parking available! There's so much for the kids to do! There are play pens, little ball blasters they can play with, an entire amusement park boat ride, as well as other things. The kids didn't have any boredom, and the staff gave great service, being very attentive to our party's needs and checking in! One of the things I loved most was that the room booked was pre-decorated with an under-the-sea vibe, which ironically went perfectly with our theme. The food was great! I ended up ordering nuggets and fries. Simple, but pretty good! The pizza was good as well, but more may be needed for larger parties! This is a fun spot and convenient for parents with young kids!

When we walked in, the greeting felt a bit cold. As a first-time visitor, I was hoping for a warmer welcome or a quick explanation of how everything works. Instead, I was simply told to scan a barcode to fill out the waiver and that admission would be $17 for my daughter. Once inside, the facility seemed fine and my daughter and I still made the best of our time there. However, I did notice that there are areas of the play space where it's difficult for parents to clearly see where their children are playing, which was a little concerning. The main thing that stood out to me was the lack of customer service. When we left after about 30 minutes, there were two staff members at the check-in desk talking, and we weren't acknowledged or thanked for coming. A simple goodbye or thank you can go a long way. I'm not typically someone who writes reviews to complain, but customer service matters a lot to me. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I don't see myself returning. (This review is on behalf of my husband. I have already reviewed the place on Google. Sadly my husband didnt know how bad my experience was there and he took my daughter with high expectations.)

Elm & Magnolia - Cool vibe... food is great. We went on a Thursday, so it was quiet. It would be awesome for a chill weekend hangout.

I expected an upscale, warm, romantic, cozy atmosphere which was the description I read. The prices are upscale but that's the extend of it. The restaurant inside is a bar with some tables scattered around. It didn't exude a warm or romantic vibe. The pictures make it look like it's on a nice piece of land with great views but it's just on a street among other businesses and there's a yard area. We ordered an appetizer, which was tasty. I think it was crab rangoon, honestly I forget but I do recall it was good. My husband has chicken parmigiana and I had a pizza. The chicken dish was good. The sauce was good and the chicken was juicy. My pizza, while it tasted good and the ingredients were fresh, was burnt on the bottom. I also would've liked the spinach to be placed by the sauce and cheese so it could cook a bit instead of on top...it was a little dry. I'd say give it a try but definitely be prepared for a more casual than romantic dinner and a higher price point.

The restaurant is always clean, they play good music, you can watch Astros games as well the ambience is for sure a vibe ! Everytime I bring my girls here they finish their plates because the food is soo damn good!!! Beet salad, zucchini fries, chicken Parmesan, the chorizo breakfast tacos, lobster ravioli, I'm just working my way down the menu. If you love bread treat yourself and order it definitely worth the cheat day with the homemade garlic butter is the stuff dreams are made of. You'll never have a bad plate here I've been coming here since they opened and I love that they are always changing the menu.

I have been 3 times and 2 out of the 3 was like pulling teeth to get service. The best luck I had was when I sat at the bar. But that only worked the first time, not the second time. Then when I sat at the table, it was actually horrible. I had to wave down the waiter nonstop. He never came to our table without me waving him down. Food was okay. Nothing special. Queso was probably the best thing we had. Do not waste your money on the fish and chips. There is basically no fish inside of the breading. I thought I liked the salmon spinach salad, but it made me sick after I ate it. The atmosphere is pretty fun, it is loud and lively. So maybe just a good spot to go for drinks if you're not in a hurry. I did like their wine and beer selection.

Solo, family, casual dates or friend dates this is THE PLACE! Their service is ALWAYS amazing--you can see the owner making rounds and always helping around whether to clean or deliver food (sweetheart too!). I love that they offer a variation to their food (a lot of vegetarian options too)! I can't say I have a favorite item because I've tried almost everything on the menu, but their seasonal pistachio pancakes with orange blossom maple syrup is HEAVEN in a bite (Mother's Day special). If you haven't had the chance to try them-GOOOOOO!

Wild Stallion Vineyards - Patio entrance to the building

She had been wanting to celebrate here the past couple years, but the Texans were usually still playing, so she'd pick a brewery in Spring with TVs instead. The entrance is inconspicuous and is one way in/out. Parking is decent. You can take tours when in season. When we were there, there was a baby shower happening in the small barn-looking building and a cooking class on the covered patio. So, we sat outside in the cold with some sun shades covers. It was a huge, open area. The sun was out, so it wasn't too bad. They could use some outdoor warmers or a fire pit. You go inside and order wine and food. They had limited options and didn't have any non-alcoholic wines. They had water and soft drinks for NA drinkers. No charcuterie since they had so many different events happening. There were 2-3 people manning the bar, and they seemed a little unorganized or critical of each other's help. It was strange. I tried a few samples of their rosè, one Chardonnay and a sparkling before I settled on 2023 Laren's Wild Rosé with strawberry and rose petal undertones. I liked it because it was less dry than the other rosé. Other than the baby shower and cooking class, it wasn't very busy on a Saturday afternoon. There were a few parents letting their kids run around the area and on the stage. There was live music inside. Staff would come out to pick up wine glasses and serve the flatbread that some people in our party ordered. The pepperoni pizza looked good. I ate before I got there, so I didn't try. I particularly wouldn't return unless it was a family or friend celebration of some sort. While not a vineyard, there are other wine bars in the city that offer NA options, a larger wine selection and food.
