We have been participating at Estrella gymnastics for the past three years. A little over a year ago, the gym was purchased by NEW OWNERS, Jill & Trevor. They have taken over and made some fabulous changes not only to the program but also to the gym itself. They have renovated the building, added new equipment, started a fantastic Ninja class, & created an incredible competitive EXCEL program. We have been so very pleased with this program and could not be happier with the staff, coaches and environment. Jill & Trevor provide excellent support and customer service as well. I highly encourage you NOT to enroll your child here. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I normally do not write reviews, but I am very disappointed in Estrella gymnastics. I had a similar experience to the other user, who rated this gymnastics studio a 1 star. The manager, Aly, is unreasonable and unfriendly, especially if you ask too many questions. The studio is not very clean and it is hard to keep an eye on your kiddo because they have a large wall with a few glass windows in front of where your child does their activity. This prevents you from seeing your child. The instructors do not really teach the kids. They do not get to know them and there is a high turn over with coaches. So, you never know who your child will have, which prevents them from making connections. I do not recommend this gym. read more

This gym is under new management as of April 2019 and I highly recommend anyone interested to come do a trial and meet the owners. We had left this gym due to mismanagement and the gym falling into disrepair but its taken a complete 180 in the last few months and we love it!! They are constantly improving the appearance and have really changed how the place is run. We've been very impressed. read more

My 5 year old daughter went to a handful of the summer camp sessions. She's done a lot of gymnastics before so she wasn't a total newbie. But after only those handful of classes she gained an amazing amount of skills. Suddenly she can do a back bend and cartwheel. She also loved it there. There's lots of seating for parents to watch. Was very disappointing experience. The staff was not that welcoming. Felt like I was an inconvenience for asking for help.

My daughter has been at Estrella over 2 yrs now and on the competition Excel team for over a year. Recently, her skills have really fallen off. The coaches are pretty lax on perfecting skills. They had very few placings in their last meet. They just don't really challenge the gymnasts. Then, I recently offered feedback on some of the gym policies and basically was told, 'Goodbye, best of luck'. Estrella is ok for beginners but if you're looking to be competitive or involved, probably not a good fit. We will be moving on to bigger and better!! read more

My family was dismissed after they changed their policy after session had already started. I asked several questions via phone call. My daughter got sick again, per their policy now the kids can only miss 1 class, so I let them know. I received a phone call telling me more info about the new policy to which things ended well. Then I got a letter of termination out of the blue. Upon asking why I was terminated I was told that I said the first person I spoke to that I yelled at them and called them a liar. I have this conversation recorded and no such thing was said. I asked to speak with the owners so they could hear what was actually said and was told they wanted me to be dismissed. We came here a couple years ago and we were not happy to say the least. We gave it another shot and found out there are NEW OWNERS, and they are AMAZING. Customer service is prompt and enjoyable, they are super knowledgeable and polite. There is always someone with a smile to greet you when you walk in, there are large windows to watch your kids from every area and high definition cameras for the areas you can't see through the windows. Onto the gymnastics aspect... Coaches are all incredibly polite, well mannered appropriately dressed (all have coach shirts as well), and very well trained! My 7.5 year old loves her level one coach, and is learning so much with her, in a short time. My 2.5 year old is in a beginner class, and LOVES it so far. When I dropped her off for the 2nd class she was crying (she's 2 and not used to this) and within 2 minutes coach Jill (owner) has her running around and stretching with a huge smile on her face. The facility and equipment is top notch, they have a HUGE facility and all the tools/equipment you could imagine for each age group and each level. Obviously in AZ, during the summer places get super hot and gross. The gym is always a comfortable temperature for the athletes and the parents. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, and so are the bathrooms. I am very pleased we gave this place another try, the new owners are phenomenal and I am so happy they are in this side of town! read more

This place is very poorly run. We just moved to the area and wanted to put our daughter in another gymnastics gym, after being in a wonderful one in California. For the first class, it was great. She worked on different skills and had a lot of fun. The next class, it wasn't so well. The "coach" was a kid about 15/16 years old. But we were told they were just short handed and there would be an adult coach. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and enrolled her in their 8 week special. It was a mistake. My daughter learned nothing from the so-called coaches. She was in a tumbling class and they had 2 student coaches, who'd rather bounce on the trampoline than teach. When the adult coach would show up, they'd only be with the class for a short time then leave to another class. I watched my daughter bounce at the end of a tumble track for over 5 minutes waiting for the student coach to stop talking and give her instruction. Another time, the student coach was trying to teach 3 different classes with almost 2 dozen kids total. It was so unsafe! I only let her finish the last class because I had already paid, but we will not be returning and I would never recommend this place for learning any sort of gymnastics. read more

Estrella Gymnastics is awesome! Our 2 yr old started in the mini stars. This class was a great learning experience and introduction for her and the parents. Our girl felt very comfortable and the class length was just enough to get her interested. After several classes with quick advancement the coaches recommended the next class up. Tiny Stars is perfect! We've noticed her listening skills improving and body movement technique being a big improvement. On a side note, the coach Jaylin & Tiffany are awesome! My daughter loves this gym! They have amazing instructors who go above and beyond to make sure each child gets the instruction they need.

No A/C at this gym so keep that in mind. I have talked with a few of the trainers and the owners are not very accommodating when suggestions have been made in the past to help improve the gym. Ended up taking daughter over to Synergy Gymnastics and she loves it. Owners are great and the gym has A/C. read more

The owners are out-of-state, and have elected to put their faith in management that lacks attention to detail, which comes off shady. The coach turn-over is horrendous. We have been attending Estrella Gymnastics for about 5yrs on/off. Last Oct I called to let them know we were taking a break and our last day would be on Nov. 15 since we were auto pay the lady said she would make sure to cancel enrollment. Nov 15th comes around and my card is charged I called and she apologized and said I would be getting a refund, which never happened. I called again at the beginning of Dec and spoke to Patrick(Manager) who said the transaction was voided, nothing we could do to contact my card company. I called my credit card and set up a dispute only for Estrella to tell my card company that I my daughter was in class and I was responsible for charges. I called Patrick again today and he's giving me a new story. Besides stating that per his records my child was there, then he telsl me that one of the days she didn't show up for "someone" called and set up a make up session. The gym has security cameras I asked him to show me when my kid show up after Nov 15 to which he said his record shows she was there so it doesn't matter what I say. Like I said we have been going way before Lynn and Trevor took over the Gym and were happy with coaches and all the improvements they made to the building but to be talked to like I was trying to rip them off its totally disrespectful. This was supposed to just be a holiday break and were planning to go back next month but after this there is no way we are ever setting foot back there, which is disappointing b/c when Jill and Trevor were managing themselves I never had any issues read more

This place is poorly organized, ridiculously restricted and dishonest. We signed up our 2 year old for the parent-tot class. It's only 30 minutes, one day a week, and there's NO instruction. We paid the for the 8 week program with a credit card. I guess they decide that if you pay with a credit card, they'll just save it so they can auto-renew you without your knowledge. When they charged us a second time, we called to cancel and get a refund since we only used the facility once. They haven't removed our card from the file and haven't given us a refund. Not sure what to rate this place but I did have the most unsettling experience here yesterday. Went to sign up my 5 year old, I had already finished filling out the paperwork and as I was handing over the payment to the girl at counter, in walks a man from the back very upset and demands to see some time sheets from the girl at the counter. At this point I'm guessing he's a superior of some sort. She tells him where he can find them and he demands her to get them and hand them to him all while she's helping me sign up my daughter for gymnastics. The poor employee looks nervous almost scared and the angry man then asks all of us in that area to leave. He looks very upset, and everyone else there cant really believe what's going on. We all had to quickly walk out in the middle of everything and wait outside in the heat. My husband and I and our two older teenage children were baffled along with everyone else in the waiting area. It was the most unprofessional situation I've ever witnessed. I immediately felt discomfort in signing up my daughter at this place. I asked for my $100 back and told the girl I was canceling registration. I left this place feeling shocked and scared for the poor girls that work there. This man was incredibly rude and handled the situation beyond unprofessional. They should not have someone like him working there, he failed miserably at controlling his anger and professionalism. I don't even want to give this place a 1 star! Terrible place. I tried the parent/tot play time. Did one, 30 min time and got charged $92!!!! I've tried numerous times to get a refund for their unauthorized charge on my debit card and every time they keep telling lies and dancing around the situation. The manager lies and says she calls, but has never called or emailed. Never tries to fix the situation. Was promised situation would be taken care of and no luck! Please don't try this place you will be very sorry! I read the reviews and thought I would just try it and what a huge heartache and mistake that was! My first time signing my daughter up for gymnastics. Trevor up front was more than understanding on any issues I had, very informative on all matters and super patient. Coach Madisyn was awesome!!!! My daughter is always nervous for atleast the first half of anything she does. 5 minutes in and Coach Madisyn worked with my daughter on breaking out of her shell and my daughter was completely comfortable in enjoying her time in class. Will definitely recommend to anyone and will be returning for future classes if my daughter wishes to pursue gymnastics. Thanks guys! read more

This Gym used to be a fantastic place to take children. The coaches that previously worked there were favorites among children and parents. New management changed the professional environment into an extremely hostile one. On more than one account I have witnessed coaches and employees being yelled at by this new "tirant" that runs the Gym. The fact that upper management does nothing to fix the situation just goes to show how little this gym actually cares about your childs well being. If they cant take care of their own employees how can I expect them to take care of my child? I will not be coming back after the amount of hostility that I saw between employees. read more

This business is horribly unorganized. My daughter spent two years in their cheer program and the only reason we continued was because of the love she had for friends she made there. Don't waste your money here. We enrolled our kids in the 3-4 year old classes and wish we hadn't. The coaches are horrible. You can tell they don't want to be there. The kids were trying to talk to the coaches and the coaches would literally ignore them. They show long sequences of movements only 1 time and then expect your child to remember them. I have taught young kids for many years and know you can't show them more than one move at a time if you expect them to remember it. The staff is not very friendly. Out of 5 coaches I've said hello to in the gym only two acknowledged me back. There are a lot of other gymnastics gyms in the area. I personally would suggest checking some of them out and skipping this place. read more

Surprised to see the earlier reviews - it's not the most efficient on the business office side (sometimes some confusion but everyone is nice and tries to be helpful) but have gone through 6 classes so far and have been impressed for the most part with the attentiveness that the coaches give to the kids. My niece is 6 so I don't expect her to be an Olympic gymnast (nor trained like one) but I've been impressed by the amount of skills she has learned and the fact that every training session has gone over different skills and builds upon the last course; I've seen them teach the fundamental concepts in easy to learn chunks and my niece is so excited and happy to go every week. So far every class has averaged from 4-7 kids each and all of the kids get personal attention (correction to make sure they are learning the skills right etc). There was one session where a substitute led the class and while she wasn't as effective as the normal coach (Coach Victoria is the best!!!), my niece still learned plenty and was given personal attention. Classes start on time and end on time for the most part which is helpful. I definitely recommend this gym based on my experience thus far. read more
