Just like the first project, Dave was extremely responsive and his quote ended up being much better than my neighbors fence guy. My neighbor also wanted to perfectly match the vinyl fence he had installed previously on the other side of his yard and Dave just took one look at a photo and instantly knew the brand name and color and was able to get that material while still honoring the quote. So we went with Dave. While Dave was completing the fence my neighbor was having some major renovation work done in his home and he had a lot of contractors out there at the same time. Daves work and professionalism impressed the other contractors who were out there too, so much so that my neighbor said they (the other contractors) plan on calling Dave for their fence work as well. It spanned the entire width of the back yard and the ends of it connected to existing wood fencing. Howard was able to come up with multiple creative solutions to the nonstandard height and unusual post spacing of the old fence, giving us several options on how to proceed. His bid was very reasonable, especially for the amount of work that the project entailed. Howard was hardworking, diligent, and obviously passionate about his craft--a true artisan. He kept us continually updated on the status of the entire project and was able to work around several obstacles in the yard, including mature landscaping in front of the old fence that he did not disturb at all (other bids wanted us to entirely remove it which was not an option). Nate came out to do the estimates for me and two neighbors. He was very efficient with my time. Once again the price of 3T Fence is probably the most reasonable of the local companies. Our two neighbors who share the property line were very happy to pay their respective 50% bills. I have to give props to the crew who showed up early on the scheduled work date and got things prepped quickly before the rest of the guys got there. On the first day, in extreme heat they completed nearly 80 feet of posts and privacy fencing. The remainder was done the following morning and they worked to early afternoon until it was 100% done, they had cleaned up and I had a chance to walk the fence and inspect it before paying our share of the bill.

Storyline: Quote on my board-on-board fence was in line with other quotes, and 3T had good reviews. Had to wait over a month to get in line. Which was fine, except I signed the contract, then didn't hear from them. On the install date, I called a couple times to see if they were still coming, but went to voicemail. About 9:00am one of their guys arrived with the wood, and we went over the layout... all good I thought... so I left for work, late. I let the guy that showed up know that I specifically did NOT to have gaps under the fence that the Neighbors dog could peek under... for some of those gaps, they 'fixed it', by kicking some dirt under them... But this is the part I am very unhappy about... it's a 6' redwood, board-on-board (heavy fence). When I got home I noticed there was no center rail on the fence... every 5' or 6' fence I see has a center rail! I called them and asked if that was a mistake, and they said no, they don't put a center rail on redwood fences, like they would if it were a cedar fence, UNLESS THE CUSTOMER ASKS FOR IT. What??? The quote was so basic, and I had No idea I had to ask a fence guy for an option he never mentioned!!! So they told me that I didn't ask for an option that I was NOT told was an option, they would send me an additional quote (more than 10% of the cost of the whole job), to come out to finish the job... So, the choice they left me is, Pay over 10% more...do it myself... or take the chance that my fence won't warp or sag after the 2 year warranty... I'm not happy those are the choices they left me!

It's been roughly a year since I acquired services from SHL, so I thought it would be a good time…read moreto finally give a fair review. The good: The decorative rocks and driveway was done ok. I am also happy with how they routed my irrigation system. There are the occasional weeds growing through the weed guard, but I think that's inevitable. The bad: Most of the trees they planted ended up dying because they were planted incorrectly. All trees are on the same irrigation system that they routed, so they all received the same amount of water. 7/10 trees died. I pulled them out and saw that they didn't prepare the soil correctly and didn't spread the roots out after transplanting the trees. The ugly: The gate install was a complete disaster. They put the gate frame on backwards which cause the gate to have uncontrollable sagging. Also, the gate lock was put on backwards.
