Mountain views, longest drive contests, and a starter who tolerated our hangovers A few days before the wedding we hosted a golf tournament at Estes Park Golf Course, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the whole week. We had about 24 golfers out on the course and a bunch more meet us at the clubhouse for lunch after, and from start to finish the staff was prompt, polite, and somehow on top of every single thing. We coordinated everything with Aaron Tulley, who was a total pro. He set us up with longest drive and closest to the pin contests while we were out there, which turned a fun round into a genuinely competitive (loving, mostly) family showdown. Aaron stayed ahead of every detail so we never had to think about logistics, which is exactly what you want a few days before getting married. Then there is the food. The kitchen has been newly redone and it shows, because lunch was incredible, and at a price that made us double-check the bill in a good way. And the views. My God, the views. Getting our flat-as-a-pancake Midwest family out onto a mountain course like this was an absolute top-tier experience. Everyone was smiling the entire time, including the people who had never broken 100 in their lives. Special shoutout to the starter, who got our entire group off the first tee with grace and good humor while we were, let us be honest, deeply hungover and schlepping around pre-round like a herd of confused deer. That is customer service. If you are looking for a stunning, welcoming, well-run course in Estes Park, this is the one. Five stars and a longest drive trophy to the whole staff. read more

Our family has played that course several times and just love it. The course layout is beautiful set against the rocky mts. Always in great shape. Our most recent outing was June 2025 read more

So beautiful to play golf surrounded by mountains. Everywhere you look, stunning views. That is what you will see at Estes Park Golf Course. The forward tees were about 5200 yds which is pretty normal. There is not a ton of variation in the holes. Most are fairly flat and straight. The holes are a lot of back and fourth so forgiving if you slice or hook one. The course was in decent shape. Greens were fair. Some elk tried to join our group but we let them play through instead. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We golfed with a twosome from OK who were extremely nice. On about the 16th hole, the gentleman behind us was golfing alone for the back nine so he just joined our foursome. He was helpful as he could direct us where to hit. Cost was reasonable. We took a cart but this would be a good course to walk and many were. We played in about 4 hours so not too much waiting. Glad we got to play here. read more

I could rate this 5 stars. We ARV June 21, 2018 summer is starting and it is 50F at noon. Then started to rain. Got to avoid the elk and deer on this course. Very flat in a huge valley. Golf course was beautiful as were every course I played in Colorado but boy it was too cold. No humidity. See photos this place been here 101 years. Had a bbq restaurant that was just excellent. They had bbq BUFFALO RIBS read more

Such a beautiful place to play golf and experience the elk coming down for the sweet grass. We had to get creative in the holes we golfed but was okay to play around huge elk surrounded by snow caped mountains. read more

It was a great golf course, but the old lady who works the front desk which I believe her name was candy was the most disrespectful lady I've met in my life. She was a b*tch and that is putting it nicely. I would recommend the course but if you meet candy I'm sorry. If you can't keep a 4 hour pace for 18 candy will hunt you down and call the course pro to tell you to speed up. you better play the fastest round in your life or candy will make your time here miserable. read more

Can't go wrong with the fall colors and the Beautiful Colorado Mountains! We will definitely go back, service was awesome. Nothing but friendly people here! read more

The management at this course is terrible. We had a tee time at 1030 and we show up 20 minutes early where they inform us that there was 1:15 frost delay that they didn't bother to call and tell us about. So we leave and come back 45 minutes only to be informed that they gave away our tee time. They made no apologies about wasting our time and acted like we should've known about the delays. Basically we were out of town non members so they didn't care about us. Course is beautiful just like the rest of Estes park, but would recommend a different course that doesn't have incompetent management. read more

Beautiful golf course and friendly folks. Had to rent clubs and buy balls since I was an out of towner but no big deal. Greens were great and the fairways are lush. My 1 complaint is the pace of play. It was horrible! Almost every time I pulled up to a tee box there were two groups waiting. Had to be patient. read more

Paid $70 for 18 with a cart. Teed off 30 minutes late because they were out of golf carts...out of golf carts. Starter said they are overbooking on purpose because people that can't get a national park pass are coming here and they're still booking people. Told us it would be 3 hours minimum for 9 holes. It was over that. Saw an 8'some, and a 6'some. No ranger speeding it up. No beverage cart. Just sitting 20 minutes every tee box. Drive the 40 minutes and go to Mariana Butte, pay $10 less for much, much better experience. Probably never playing here again. read more

This place is about as good as it gets for muni golf. Walked on here as a single and had a great time. The course is at 7600 feet; I walked it and not too bad. The course has varied holes and though only sloped at 121, much tougher. I played the back tees, which are only at about 6200 yards. The pro shop, bar, range, etc, employ friendly people who make you feel at home. You could score really well here if you put away the driver at certain times, mostly on the back. The front side is what you see is what you get golf. The back side is shorter but hillier and much more nuanced. If hole under 360, think accuracy at all costs. Greens, tee boxes and sand all in great shape. It's a fun track. read more

My family comes here every year with a huge group for our family reunion and every year the are accommodating, gracious, and a breeze to work with. The mix of mostly par threes and par fours is great for groups with mixed experience levels. There are carts and beverages available and the bathrooms after the third hole are always clean. Plus you can't beat the views of Lake Estes! read more

Played the front 9 first thing in the morning. Beautiful course, long drives, and fast greens. read more

Very inconsiderate we were here for a youth group trip and planed to share clubs with our buddies to save room on our bud and we were not allowed to do it we had to rent golf clubs. read more

Stunning course. Just played and was harassed 5 times by the pacers to speed up play but we were under course recommended play time by 40 mins. Not our problem they stacked the course too heavy in the afternoon. Ruins play and the experience. Shared my feedback very politely with the pacer and he got very argumentative saying he just started and was using his "instinct". He then proceeded to follow us to the car and try to get the last word in. Really? Also, restaurant food and service is terrible. Arrived at 8:30am Saturday morning and breakfast burritos had yet to be made. Truly a shame, the course is pretty and fun but becoming not worth the hassle to play. read more

Your golf ball will fly 20% further. You will be surrounded by snow capped mountains. Bull elk will be bugling and rattling antlers all around you... and you get to play a great golf course. What a treat. Magical place. read more

Mountain course in a tourist town. No big deal, just fun. Weather and the Elk can be a challenge at times. We actually like the clubhouse and Grill (Hanger?) for lunch. It's away from all of the Main Drag tourists in downtown Estes. Decent food and a cold brew with a view of the course from the corner table or the deck. read more

Played today. Course is in terrible condition, and when I asked for a cup of ice, I was charged $.25. When do you pay $55.00 for golf, water should be free. read more
