My lovely wife and I are familiar with Estereo in Logan Square, so we were happy to check out its newer location in Fulton Market the other day during Happy Hour (Monday through Friday from 3 to 6PM). Although we did not order any of the HH specials, we were indeed happy to try a beer here without having to shoehorn ourselves into a really loud holiday party crowd. Having said that, the crowd did pick up here once we left at 6PM. I enjoyed my Casa Humilde Media Naranja beer on draft, while my love was good with her can of Monopolio, an IPA from Mexico that I've not previously encountered. Peeps next to us seemed to like their empanadas, which are from Cafe Tola. The big ol' disco ball added vibrancy to the interior. The bouncer was friendlier than the average security personnel, while the bartender was a bit dry. Note the bathrooms are downstairs. I had such a fun time at Estero! My friends and I came here after having dinner in the West Loop. Coming to their Yelp page, I learned that Estero is a coffee bar during the day which is so cool! At night, it's a super lively bar. A DJ was playing fun, Latin music and there was a really fun energy in the place. There is a large menu of specialty cocktails, so I asked the bartender for whatever drink drink was most akin to a spicy margarita (since I didn't see that on the menu). The drink he decided to give me wasn't my favorite -- It tasted like beer on fire (and I'm good with spice!) It really didn't go down easy and I had to abandon it after a couple sips. The drink was beer and jalapeño infused tequila, mango, arbol chili, casa humilde viva la frida hibiscus & lime sour. It wasn't for me but I'm sure it was for someone. After that, I went with a skinny margarita which was great! The atmosphere is really great, and if you're out in the West Loop I definitely recommend! read more

This bar is so cute! It had the cutest decorations with the disco ball and lights. It seems to be a latin bar. They were playing cumbia and salsa when we were there. We ordered a round of drinks with a very attentive bar tender. I got a mango slushee and my friends each ordered different drinks. The drinks were pretty good and the vibes in there was overall so fun and great!They have 2 separate smaller dance floor areas and folks were dancing and looked like they were having a great time. This small bar is full of Mexican culture and you can tell they strategically select their ingredients. Our bartender was very knowledgeable and patient, we were a group of 7 and took great care of us. Only about half of our group were in love with our drinks, while the other half ordered traditional bar drinks or canned drinks. They are limited on what traditional bar drinks they can make, because as I stated, their ingredients are selective. Their drink menu was definitely unlike any other I've seen before, but just keep an open mind and I'm sure you'll find something you enjoy. I tried the coffee drink and one other. The interior is very vibey and super cute! We stopped in for coffee around lunchtime and their Ube Latte was fantastic. They don't carry alternative milks outside of Oat Milk so my sister opted into getting their spicy lemonade refresher which was also very yummy. It was perfect for sipping on to beat this hot weather. Their mezcal cocktail was well balanced and was another perfect drink to beat the hot weather. The service was quick and the barista was kind. Dropped by during daylight hours, when the crowd is low, to see what the hype was about. Barely anyone was present so service was quick. Our server was super knowledgeable and took time to educate us on certain liquors we never heard of. Ultimately, we settled on frozen #1 and #2. They're the only two drinks that are frozen. Super tasty and incredibly liquored heavy. One tip to note is all the drinks are basically on tap so there's no real concern of getting a "weak" drink during club hours. We paid $30 for two drinks the size of a toddler's sippy cup. While you may leave buzzed, your pockets are going to leave broke. So I wouldn't recommend this as a place to party or pregame. You come here already lit and this would be to top it off. They source their empanadas from Cafe Tola, who I believe has two locations in Chicago. At the original establishment, the empanadas range from $4.55-$6.00 per. Here, with tax, I paid $8.50 for one empanada. Yes, you read correctly. We spent basically $40 for a decent time. I personally wouldn't knock this place but now that I've explored, I wouldn't be inclined to return. read more

This was SUCH a fun place to grab drinks before dinner. In fact. We liked it so much we went back again after dinner too! Bartenders were quick to ask if we wanted another round and were great at suggesting different cocktails to try. I'm not a big tequila drinker and normally stick to gin and soda/gin and tonic but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the few different margarita flavors per their suggestions. Ambiance - pre dinner it was still pretty quiet, maybe half full? So it was very easy to carry a conversation. After dinner it was LOUD. That said i was pleasantly surprised at the West Loop bar, it had its own flair and uniqueness you'd expect from Estereo but also different elements that were appreciated . Beer on tap, food options, and new drink Options were some of the many pleasant surprises. Our bartenders were super welcoming and took the time to answer any questions we had. While I love the cocktails they offer, I'd strongly recommend looking at their spirit list, especially the agave ones. It was a Thursday night so nothing really happening so super easy to find a spot to sit. It's quite small so I can see it getting busy fast on a weekend night. You have to go up to the bar to order. I have been to Estereo in Logan Square and was so happy when I heard they were opening up one in Fulton Market. I will say when it first opened the ambiance was so odd and there weren't menus on the walls and it was pretty bland. I decided to go back after a few weeks to give them a chance to get settled. It doesn't have the liveliness as Logan but not necessarily a bad thing. There is one thing that brings me back though... if you love Frozen drinks then you have to try this combo: They have 2 frozen drinks on the menu frozen #1 - salted mango, tromba tequila, lime and frozen #2 - blackberry, lime, convite mezcal. I ask for a swirl which is both of them (see picture)! It is honestly fantastic and a great drink to grab before going out to dinner at one of the amazing restaurants on Fulton. Finally stopped by to check out this place after walking by in the area numerous times. Definitely was not disappointed! While most know this location as a late night bar hangout with booze and beats, many do not know this one is also open during the day for a more laid back experience. We stopped by on a Sunday morning to indulge in their delicious coffee. I had a "Meryenda" which was an espresso with Ube and coconut milk. My husband had " Manila-tary latte" which had Ube, Matcha, cocoa and espresso with his preferred choice of oat milk. Both were delicious! They also had some empanadas and donuts available but we only got coffee this visit. Came in for some drinks after dinner and it was really fun. The place was pretty empty, but service was awesome and really enjoyed that they were using records for the music. We tried a couple of their cocktails and at first it was a little confusing because all the cocktails had names of different liquors or beer But after you figured it out, it definitely was fun to kind of pick the different things and try out items. Ambience is really cool with a giant disco ball in the middle and the staff is super engaging and made the experience overall very fun. Definitely would come back. Without a doubt my favorite night spot in Chicago! I read some reviews about service being bad and I'll have to say that in every visit - I've witnessed people who def had too much to drink and had been escorted out.
