They deserve no stars. A complete ripoff. He has been doing this for years. Last year we gave him all our furniture and other stuff. After numerous emails and texts he has yet to give us a list of items he sold and the amounts. Also have not received any money and then no responses at all. Auctions can be terrific entertainment. Country auctions are in a whole other category. You can come and enjoy for hours, without spending a cent if you don't find anything you like. This is a country auction. About 90 miles outside of NYC, they have things from the tri-state area. You never know what you will find there. High end furniture to dollar store box lots and everything in between. A bargain can be found here if you are patient. It is held weekly, Saturdays, in the summer they have an outside tent as well, for cheaper items. The evening is usually higher end. The evening auction usually starts around 5 pm. Its often a good idea to get here early for close parking and close seating if that's important to you. Otherwise the parking lot can get full, and its one of those lots that could use a "makeover". But there is street parking as well. Seating can be hit or miss, the closer up chairs go quickly, and not all chairs are equally comfortable. But its manageable. The clientele vary greatly here from newlyweds looking for furniture their first homes to others looking for stamps. The prices do as well. Some things sell for 1000's, others for dollars. There are a lot of resellers here, so you may find yourself bidding against someone who will not be paying NYS tax on the items, and they can as a result bid higher than you. The resellers come from across the area, there are a lot of thrift stores around, and they often take the good stuff and have deeper pockets than you may. There are also alot of "eBay resellers" here. They do offer some food here as well, which is usually a busy counter. The auction house takes a cut from the buyer and the seller, and if that model irritates you, don't come here. They prefer cash, of course, will take checks, and take V or MC. NO AMEX. read more

Can you give negative stars on Yelp? I guess not. Don't walk away from this company...run! The most unprofessional, rude, group of thieves that I have ever done business with. Not only will they ruin your sale, give you pennies for your stuff, they blamed us for their horrible excuse for a sale. They had little traffic, so I used my online network to help promote our sale. But, according to Ms. King those customers that we brought were a problem? Excuse me? You lie, cheat, and steal then blame me? Also, they trashed our house. You can rarely get him on the phone or get an answer via email. And I do not give up easily. I don't know how Ken Presti can sleep at night with all the horrible things he has done to people. He's a crook and I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. He came across as someone who would help us clean out my deceased mother's house, sell her things and send us a check. We paid him $3,900 and haven't seen one dime! He cleared everything out on May 2, 2019 and we STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY MONEY FROM HIM. I have sent numerous emails and texts and have called dozens of times, but either he has an excuse or he doesn't answer. We engaged Estates NY and owner Wendy King to perform an estate sale at our home. After the sale ended we asked Ms. King and her daughter Jessica for a detailed accounting of every item they sold and for what price. We were told it would be sent shortly. Several weeks later we received a check with no explantation or backup. We followed up for an accounting. She texted "this is your total, I will send you an accounting" For the next several months , we continued to follow up by text, calls and emails and on the rare occasion when we did get a response, she was extremely rude and dismissive. She made us feel like we were wrong to ask what our life's possessions sold for and that we were crazy to ask. We are shocked at this behavior and lack of professionalism. We have been ignored, hung up on, taken advantage of and made to feel like fools for trusting Estates NY. We cannot in good conscious stand by and not say anything to other potential victims. We feel no one should have to be treated like this. We feel that people like us hiring estate sale companies that deal with someone lifelong possession should be treated with respect and honesty. Left my house in shambles. She was nasty to my wife and I from the get go. And on top of that has told me she sent me the check several times and has never sent me a check. Worst experience of my life was allowing Ken Presti to auction our house; horrible experience. On October 10, he packed two 22 footer trucks with our furnitures, glass tables, china cabinets, $7,000 chandelier with lift motor, beds, lawnmower, and everything you can imagine from a six bedroom house. Charged me $3,200 for delivery to his shop. He promised to sell our home stuff, and compensate us no more than 3 weeks later. Mid March, he finally sent us $2,400 plus after numerous calls and emails threatening him for lawsuit. He lied and tortured us for 6 months. Yelp should allow less than 1 star because this is what this company deserves unfortunately. I went to an estate sale in Nyack, NY, where Ken Presti and his team were hosting. Great old house, some items though old, were very unique. It was nearing the end of the day on Sunday and we were told from the women on his team that all items are now 50% off as it was the last day of the sale. I brought some knick knacks to the register to inquire about prices. I asked if a small statue could be reduced even further as it was chipped and a significant part of the piece had broken off. Ken told me that the item was worth full sticker price, non-negotiable. When I had brought up that I had heard the announcement that items were now 50% off, Ken laughed, and I was met with a snarl and nasty tone. Please communicate with your team so the information given is consistent. I frequent estate sales and always am gracious and sensitive when asking about prices, and I was met with a condescending laugh and attitude that was undeserved. After this interaction, I inquired about a different item with one of the women on his team who was helpful. When attempting to have a conversation her, Ken promptly cut off our conversation and angrily barked to his business partner (or wife?), "I'll handle it!!!". He was clearly stressed, unable to multi-task several customers at once, and projecting out his own frustrations. I put down items (about $70 worth of items) I had planned on buying after watching him treat his business partner the way he did, and left. Ken, please treat your hired help and customers with kindness, it was apparent you are not respectful nor professional and it left a sour taste in my mouth. I also heard a customer behind me say how rude she felt Ken was. I understand that having to be on the receiving end of questions isn't a fun part of the job but it's part of the business. Just wanted to send a warning to anyone who is considering hiring this company, that I suggest you do otherwise. read more

We needed an estate sale agent to sell household items in New York. We met with four companies, and two were not interested in hosting the sale. We weighed the pros and cons of the remaining two (one of which was estatesny), and decided to go with the other company. After informing estatesny we chose the other company, here is the e-mail response we got: a THOROUGH waste of my time and a blatant misrepresentation ... my time gas, emails and otherwise deserved more than a two line turndown, but it is definitely for the best on my end. You are the kind of people that smile in your face while for lack of a better term, passive aggressively do whatever they want with a total and absolute lack of integrity. Call it what you will, WE are a local estate sale company, your choice was about money, and remember what I said, you get what you pay for. Needless to say, we were shocked. In the past I was a contractor, and driving to potential customers homes, talking to them, and giving them an estimate was just a part of doing business. I certainly did not pout and resort to name calling when I did not get the job. We sent this follow-up e-mail: I will be saving this response for appropriate feedback on the internet. You just confirmed I made the right decision. And got this response: You're upset? Oh dear. You didn't waste 10 hours of my time and staff costs, fuel costs, And deal with an endless barrage of questions designed to extract as much free information as possible--real clients know they need to pay for it. Regardless of your threats, I stand by my comments without reservation. If you make slanderous statements when you didn't even use our service, that will end up in court. We are booked solid through 2014 and I guess that speaks for itself. But make no mistake, you did misrepresent yourselves several times and I ALMOST lost another sale because you wanted that date. There was nothing in my response indicating I was upset, just matter of fact. Also, at no time did we mis-represent ourselves, I don't even know what she is talking about. We had informed her we were meeting other companies. She did raise her commission from a verbally agreed upon amount though, and left out many additional charges such as set up fee, advertising, and clean-up. We only noticed those when she finally e-mailed a contract. I cannot recommend calling this company for estate services. If you decide to go with someone else, be prepared for a childish verbal assault like the one I just posted. read more

If there were negative stars that's what I would give!! Wendy came to my moms house after she passed away she assured me that they could definitely handle the sale. Afterwards she charged me $1200 extra for all the extra work-- even though she had seen it before. I also feel that she underpriced everything. It leaves me feeling heartbroken that my moms valuable treasures were basically given away. If I had to do it again I wouldn't have bothered. I would have been better off not having a sale at all. All Wendy did was add more stress in our lives at an already very stressful time. read more

**For all those here with the same experience, contact the Westchester County District Attorney's Office to report!** As many of the furnishings in our four story home were being offered for sale in preparation for our senior downsizing move, my wife and I contracted with Two Kings Estate Sales LLC, aka Estates NY. The owner, Ms. Wendy King, reviewed the furnishings at least two weeks in advance and initially expressed her excitement in managing the sale of the furnishings of our historic property. During the preparation stages Jessica, Wendy King's daughter, assured us that she was photographing and researching the items to be sold. We asked for a copy of the preliminary inventory so that we could review the list before the scheduled June 15-16th (2018) sale. We did not receive it. We then requested inventory at the end of the first day of sales, June 15th. We were told by staff they had it -- but WE did not! We received a check for the items sold on the first floor the first day of the sale, as many of the items were bought by a single purchaser. Wendy King gave us a check from the single buyer and advised us her commission was given in a separate check. Still no inventory of the first floor items sold to the single purchaser or to any other buyer! Day 2, June 16th -- still no inventory. We began to call, text, email -- no inventory. Wendy King was obviously bothered by our constant requests and simply said she had not completed the final inventory. However, at this point we had not even received a preliminary inventory! Finally, after two weeks we received what Wendy King advised us was the FINAL inventory. Upon review, we noted that in addition to items listed, forty-four items were sold but omitted from the final inventory. When we contacted Ms. King her outright refusal to discuss this surprised us greatly. She said her "job was done" and that our accounting was incorrect. She became rude, hostile, unprofessional. We had become a bother and advised us that we should be happy to have sold what we did as our furnishings were old, worn and subpar and some items just above "tourist-grade". We have endured many insults since she collected more than $42,000 in commission and tells us that her job is done! Further, she says we should not be concerned about first-floor furnishings still not removed from the house. She tells us we are moving anyway, let them remain. At the same time she reminds us that the purchaser owns those items outright -- this we acknowledge! We also have not been compensated for the items in the small dining room, gym, kitchen and wine cellar as well as items on the second and third floors. She acknowledges she owes us money, however it has now been a year since the sale has ended! read more

I was hopeful after being contacted on here by Ken Presti that our issue could be worked out. I have sent him 3 emails now, each a week apart, to an email address that he previously used to communicate with me on. No reply. Nothing. Presti's/NY-NJ Estate & Auction Services-www.njestateservices.com has again gone silent. 2 entire houses worth of stuff, gone. Paid them $1500 per house to clean out, never saw a dime back for anything that was auctioned. And these houses were full of furniture. It's worth noting a few items as well: They seem to be rebranding their operation as NY-NJ Estate & Auction Services using the website www.njestateservices.com and are no longer using the name Presti's. Why? Why are they running from a name and established brand? Make no mistake, NY-NJ Estate & Auction Services and www.njestateservices.com are run by Ken Presti - the same guy who was in charge or (or still is) Presti's Auction Services. So if you're considering any business listed as NY-NJ Estate & Auction Services, www.njestateservices.com or Presti's STAY AWAY. Please be sure when you are here on YELP to look at the "Not Recommended" reviews for this business. These reviews don't show up on the front page because the people who posted them don't frequent YELP enough, but you can see that multiple people have been taken advantage of by this business. Don't know - can't reach him. 9 days later - where is check and what is left to sell? Don't know - can't reach him. 12 days later - emailed me -was writing check but still didn't answer what was left to sell. 14 days later - rec'd check in mail. That's a total of 21 days after he said he'd send the check. I know it is such a difficult and lengthy process to WRITE A CHECK & put it in an envelope. Finally answered me 15 days later - couldn't tell me what was left to sell. Could be mixed with other items. Check back in a few weeks. Well if he couldn't tell me then, how would he be able to tell me later? Who knows but okay. Emailed a few weeks later. Asked if there was anything left. Nothing. Emailed a couple weeks after that. Asked if there was anything left and this time gave him some attitude about not getting back to me. Replied the next day that nothing else sold and what did I want to do with the rest - please advise. Replied via email SAME day (7/19). Nothing back from him Emailed 7/21, 7/22, 7/27, 7/29, 8/1.... NOTHING BACK FROM HIM. Seriously... how does someone do business like this??????? It is BEYOND me that this person is still in business. He is ATROCIOUS. Do NOT contact him and use him for ANYTHING EVER. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL. What is SO difficult about picking up a damn phone and calling your customer??????????? Used Mr Presti's services, and was extremely satisfied. He cleaned out my aunts estate which had a mixed bag of goods from absolute trash to better quality furniture, knick nacks and a few antiques. While I did have to pay a fee to cover the cost of trucking, it was well worth it since I ended up with a broom clean house and a check in my pocket. read more

I purchased 3 items at EstatesNY May 8, 2016 auction. By Monday evening, May 10, I had received 5 !!! requests from Estates NY for payment. Each of their statements said that the lamps and night tables must be picked up on May 19, 2016 between the hours of 10 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. That gave me 9 days to arrange for a shipper. After payment on May 10, I received an email early Tuesday morning, May 11 from Wendy King demanding that I pick up the goods by 3:00 P.M. that day!! I live 250 miles from the auction warehouse. When I sent Ms. King all five copies of my request for payment stating that May 19 was the listed pick up date she replied "What's your point?" During one of our email exchanges, she attempted to tell me that I was fortunate to have been a bidder at her auction!! Being a client at all of the major auction houses in the United States, Europe and Asia as well as online auction sites I was quite surprised to hear I was one of Wendy's lucky ones. If you want to deal with a company with no conscience and a tendency for abuse EstatesNY is the place. read more

I interviewed several different companies, but I chose Estates NY for what seemed a very competent representation of what I was going to be getting. I was downsizing from my 6,000 square ft home to a much smaller house.I was promised a full and comprehensive report of everything that was sold. I was promised payment within a few days of the end of the sale. I was promised expertise in advertising. I was promised an art expert to evaulate my art and sculptures. The owner was full of empty promises. NOTHING about her operation is professional. I NEVER received an accounting on the sale of my items. She paid me weeks later. She gave me checks from some of the customers and cash - very UNPROFESSIONAL. She gave me 2 bad checks and one check dated a year earlier! Several of my neighbors have told me they paid her more money then she claimed she received! She sold my SUBZERO refrigerator for $300.00 but my neighbor told me she paid $500.00 cash and a check for $300.00. This is a free pass to steal! And, in my opinion - she did! I was outraged at the outcome of my estate sale in Purchase, NY. I organized and priced everything. I took pictures of every item with my price tags and her tags on the paintings and furniture. The first day she sold a painting that we agreed to sell for no less than $1500.00 and she sold it for $800. Than she took 25% of that! I should have locked her out! I was told that they would advertise, they did not! Windy King had no concept of the value of my Mid-Century signed pieces. She marked everything way below the sale price we agreed on. She harassed a customer who was going to buy one of the queen size beds but later changed her mind. I have those emails of correspondence. I have everything to stop this person - she is a menace to honest people! She over charged for help and supplies. She sold things that were not for sale and sterling silver items were missing from the house. I have a lawsuit pending. She was sued by John Franco, pitcher for the Mets for $70,000. If I could give this company zero stars I would absolutely do so based simply on the owner's (Wendy) extremely rude behavior! She should not be running a business where customer service is important, or any business for that matter. My husband and I went to an estate sale that she ran over the weekend and she was yelling at customers and even put her hand up to a customer's face to stop them from speaking. I was in shock! Her staff on the other hand was extremely helpful and polite (I am not quite sure why they would work for her). John helped my husband carry almost every big piece of furniture that we purchased. He was super nice despite the fact that he was running around crazy trying to attend to everyone. At the end, my husband and I could not fit two pieces from a closet system we purchased into our van so we asked John if we could leave it and come back the next day. He said that we could leave it on the porch and come back the next day. He tagged the pieces "sold to Scottie" and said it would be fine there. Well, my husband went back today and one of them was gone! I called the company to let them know and unfortunately spoke to Wendy and she blatantly told me that there's nothing that she can do. She went on to tell me that we shouldn't have left it there and sarcastically asked if I thought it was smart to have left it there. What kind of customer service is that?!?! But, that wasn't the end! After speaking to her calmly (really calmly despite her rudeness) and saying to her that we paid for those items and there should be something that they can do, she HUNG UP on me!!! After the seeing the other two reviews, I would NEVER hire Wendy or her company for anything. She is rude and disrespectful, and apparently from the other reviews, she's a thief! Presti's auction picked up the contents of two storage lockers I had full of antique furniture, crystal, glass and assorted items in October 2013. According to the contract, the items should have been auctioned off within 30 days and I should have received 75% of the proceeds. To date, I have received nothing, and they do not answer my calls. It's looking like I've been scammed by Presti's. Anyone wanting to give them items to sell should be very wary. read more

I have so much to say about Wendy King and Estates NY that I doubt it will all fit here so I will try to be concise. Let's just say that after a DISASTROUS estate sale, we took her to small claims court and won... but she never paid us. We even had the sheriff go out one of her estate sales and he only got a small portion of our judgment from her after she gave him a sob story. He tried to collect the rest by visiting her home several times and was told she was not home. That was 8 years ago and she still owes me a lot of money. To put it nicely I would call her and her daughter and son-in-law (her mom helps out too) Gypsies who prey upon the unsuspecting, grieving relatives of lost loved ones when they are forced to empty out their loved ones homes after a death. She sold items we told her we wanted to keep in the house to help the sale of the home (curtains) and would on give us a few dollars for them, not what it would actually cost to replace them. She will try to get you to sign a contract stating that you will not be home during the sale...and try to keep you out of the house during the sale (not sure if this is legal). The reason for this is so she can sell items, not inventory them, not give receipts (she forgot her receipt book) so there is NO RECORD of what she sold so she can pay what she feels like paying you and not what you are actually owed. If you bring up an item and ask what it sold for.. she will say she did not remember seeing that item. She will email you a list of items that is totally falsified... omitting many items she sold so that she will pay you a lot less than what you are owed. I photographed everything that is why I won in court. She also lied several times to us. She called us the night before the sale coughing and saying she was sick so her daughter would be running the sale instead. Meanwhile, I heard her daughter tell customers her mother was running a sale nearby (competing with ours) and sending them there. The items that they put out for the sale dirty and many were not even displayed. Her daughter claimed I was abusive to her when she came to set up over 5 hours late (untrue). I had waited all day for her and started to set up by myself. She didn't like me because I was on to her, I figured out what she was about and so she started to accuse me and scream at me and try to turn my husband against me by saying I was interfering with the sale. She even got her attorney to write me a letter (by email) it was probably written by her, to try to threaten me to back off when I realized what she was up to. She accused my husband of being drunk during the sale when he was trying to be nice and offered her daughter's husband a beer. This is the son-in-law who slept all day on our couch and did not help with sale, so my husband (who I sent there to keep and eye on her) ended up assisting people and carrying items to their cars. She also screamed at me when I refused to let her in the house while we were away (my husband eventually did and her daughter sold items to friends and did not give us receipts or a record of what she sold). I DO NOT KNOW HOW SHE STAYS IN BUSINESS AND WHY SHE IS NOT IN JAIL. LOOK UP WHAT HAPPENED WHEN SHE RAN AN ESTATE SALE FOR JOHN FRANCO THE METS PITCHER, IT WAS IN THE NEWS. The worst of it was when she showed up at the end of the estate sale and took the money from her daughter and would NOT COUNT THE MONEY IN FRONT OF US. There was no way to know what the sale actually took in, just her false accounting days later. I tried to stop her from leaving (I SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE) with the money but my husband let her go. BIG MISTAKE! SHE IS NOT PROFESSIONAL! I actually would also give her 0 stars and tell you to RUN FAR AWAY and TEAR UP HER CARD. A MONKEY WOULD DO A BETTER JOB AND BE MORE HONEST. I am sure she is used to getting away with this, and has been for a long time but that was in the days before the internet. Hopefully people will get wise to her now. DO NOT HIRE THEM...
