I still don't understand how a coffee place can get enough footfall to stay open when it is situated, as this place is, in a commercial estate on the outskirts of town especially as the products have a low price point.
The Costa coffee store brand in Northern Ireland has a similar business model so it's much more common to find a Costa out of town; Starbucks not so much.
So this place on the outskirts of Longford town is very close to a drive-thru Mc D and a few bargain stores. The whole area is drab and the upshot is if you want a cheap coffee that's not particularly good you can pay just over 2 euro at Mc D where the staff are lousy paid or go here for about 4 euro where the staff are equally lousy paid. My choice is the latter as the product is far superior and leave a tip.
With Covid, a virus 10,000 times smaller than a grain of salt, queues and one door in one door out have become common as are face masks and hand sanitiser and here was no different despite being out of town.
I queued here about 10 minutes. They supplied the sanitiser and the delightful young staff were eager to keep the store clean. Preferred payments now like so many places are card not cash. read more
