They use a Brown Crab I believe, which is kind of like a stone crab that we have in Florida, but served hot. DELICIOUS!! Main course was a seafood pasta and grilled Hake. Both amazing. I can't say enough great things about Linnane's! I would come back here in a heart beat. This was some of the freshest seafood I've had in a long time. Thinking that nothing could exceed the chowder from our home in the state of Washington, we were speechless. The fish chowder was easily the best we have ever eaten. The bread was a perfect companion to the chowder and the fresh butter could not be surpassed. The raw oysters were super fresh and it was fun getting to see the manager show us how to shuck oysters (he used to compete in oyster shucking contest and was ranked pretty high!). The steamed mussels and crab claws were also delicious. Ending the meal with cheesecake was great! The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you are visiting a friend's home for a nice meal. As she was giving us our food she said and I quite "no pepper " I said that's me and proceeded to hand the plate she implied was with no peppers to my friend and my friend said "no sorry that's not mine" and I said "I thinks it's mine I got it with no peppers" she turned to me in the RUDEST manor and said "yes you will have to wait" I was shocked and uneasy my friend turned to her and said" you are being so rude " and she said rudely , cheeky and just so smart "I'm not being rude" "am I being rude " and we just could not believe that this happened we didn't even finish our food we left in shock. My sister ordered a burger off the kids menu but received an adult burger while Cox's restaurant were adamant we had to pay the adult price cause "if you ate it you have to pay for it" however it was not our fault that the order was mixed up! The manager was also rude to us and another group we were talking to aswell so I will not be returning to this establishment!
