The food was of course amazing! seasoned well, even the rice! One thing for sure. Their corn cakes. I usually don't care or that cause it's usually dry, cold, and tasteless. This place on the other hand was warm, crispy, and a touch of salt which is a plus to me! The chicharon. Pfft... forget about it. Crispy on the outside. Soft and tender! Oh man I just need like sauces to dip! to give it that nice finish! Everything else on the dish was cooked perfectly. The plantains was nice and soft and sweet, the chicken was fall off the bone, the steak was juicy and not overly tough! Definitely give this place a try! I would definitely order from here again!

Reading some reviews from my friends, it seems there was a UYE here (over 15 years ago), before I even knew what Yelp was. We were all set to try out one of their Combo meals. On a quiet Tuesday night, I wanted to do takeout, but since it was pretty empty, we decided to dine in and there was only 1 other couple on the other side of the dining room. Our server brings a cup of the signature salsa verde (green sauce) and a dish of Peruvian corn nuts to snack on. Before having Peruvian food, I never knew corn kernels could come in Paul Bunyan size. The soup of the day was Sopa de Pollo and we got 2 bowls to share between the 3 of us. It was very tasty with big hunks of chicken in each bowl. We ordered Combo #2, which consists of a whole pollo a la brasa (rotisserie chicken), avocado salad, salchipapa, maduros and arroz amarillo (yellow rice). The chicken is marinated and grilled perfectly, though on the small side, which made it really tender. I really wonder about the dish origin of salchipapa and how Peruvian cooks came up with serving French Fries and butterflied hot dogs together. One odd thing was that condiments (ketchup, mustard & mayonnaise) were served in packets like at fast food restaurants. What's also odd was that they are the exact same brand of packets used by all the other Peruvians restaurants that I have been to. They must all use the same supplier. I really want to come back to try the Lomo Saltado and the Chaufa. I always tease my Peruvian co-worker about the parallels of Peruvian and Chinese that chaufa comes from chow fahn (fried rice) or see yow is soy sauce. Don't ask me what Lomo is in Chinese because it's NSFW.

The birria tacos were fire. So good. You can't go wrong with any of the tacos. We also got a steak platter which comes with rice and beans. Delicious! Definitely recommend. Big tacos, great flavor and reasonable prices.
