The gym is big. It is spread across three rooms; the main room has all the cardiovascular machines and a few weights machines. The next largest room has a large area for stretching etc. Finally the smallest of the three is a free weights room. The machines are not looked after especially well however this does not matter much as there are so many of them. So many in fact that you can literally feel the floor pulse the the steps of the running machines.

I only went a few times (my wife was a member and blagged some free passes), but was quite impressed with the place. The gym itself was pretty small with two or three running, rowing and cross training machines and various weights. However, it was never that busy so I never had to queue for anything, and they had the usual TV screens on the wall tuned into MTV. They also have a pool, which is pretty small (I'd estimate about 20 metres), though again it was never that busy, so it was easy enough to do lengths up and down the side. This looked out onto a nice garden where you can sit outside and enjoy a coffee. Fitness fanatics may want to look elsewhere, though if you're after a simple, friendly place to grab some exercise, this is a good shout.

Whilst I was a member i can say my experience was average. It does what it says ont the tin. Nothing to shout about as the place just needs a revamp. Its all abit dated and run down. The changing rooms are ok - abit small only has a few private cubicles to change and when busy I always jsut to go in the toliets and change which smell ! The gym has plenty of machines, and the televisions are on the wall at front which are really hear to see if at the back of the room. Plenty of weights which always seems to be surrounded by men so i tend to stay on the cardio. Also there are 2 sit up frames which i always found people were queuing for during the busy periods. They could easliy invest in some more matts and frame. They have a room upstairs aswell but having to walk through hallway and upstairs to carry on with without wasnt ideal for me. The pool was clean but the surrounding area such as showers and general wear and tear from the tiles were run down. They have a stream rooom & sauna which were clean and always working. The jacussi was sometime out of order. They do classes which were mainly based in the upstairs studio has a good selection but it was always so hot in there. Also they have a spin studio which has a good amount of bikes in. Think this gym would appeal to mums as they have a creche next door which is connected to the building. The price for a peak membership is £29.99 per month but no contract. Which includes use of gym, pool faciites and all classes. Good price range but get what you pay for.

It felt down to earth and I found the staff friendly and not at all patronizing. A major plus for me was that I didn't feel like I didn't fit in for not being perfect, unlike a previous gym I was a member of. It had a good gym, a decent range of classes at various times and various levels to suit everyone, a pool and the facilities were fine.
