She politely explained what each step was meant to do to my skin and the studio itself felt very clean and modern. My problem came after the appointment. The owner came out to sell me her "Acne Boot Camp" program and skincare line, which I declined because it was out of my budget and I explained that I already had products prescribed to me by my dermatologist. Upon eyeing my face (which was covered in hormonal acne at the time) she judgmentally said, "Well, clearly it's not working." I never went back. And, since following my dermatologist's advice, my skin has cleared up a LOT. I use tretinoin which is a very common treatment for acne but one of its side effects is skin purging; which to her looked like "clearly not working." I know this review is quite late, but I just remember leaving the appointment so embarrassed and frustrated. Acne is a sensitive topic for a lot of people--which is why I treated myself to a facial! I know it's not easy to run a business, but there is no justification for such behavior. And you won't be able to find me in your database under this name. My appointment was on (1/31/2024). I guess I should've confirmed this but when I specifically requested her I assumed I would automatically be booked with her. I was booked with Jessica instead. When I arrived at 12:25 she greeted me at the door and immediately took me to the facial room. Her consultation was very quick and brief. We began the facial at 12:35 and she was finished by 1:22 so I did not receive a full hour facial. Any skin issues I mentioned to her she just repeated back to me when she was examining my face. I would've liked if she had walked me through the facial process step by step. Everything she put on my face was a mystery. The massage wasn't the most relaxing. My neck was tense the entire time. And while masking I just laid under the infrared light while she sat behind me silently. Almost every facial I've had elsewhere I have received a hand or scalp massage while I masked. Also the music was absolutely horrid. It was not relaxing spa music. It was more like boppy coffee shop music during the entire service. My face felt a bit tight afterwards and Jessica did not give me any product recommendations which bummed me out because I was really hoping to take something new home.
