My old practice was a single dentist, a few dental assistants and a receptionist. You spend your entire visit with the dentist and he provides you an honest summary of your visit. The total visit is under a half hour. Biltmore Commons has 6 Dentists and at least that many dental hygienist and more dental assistants and receptionists. You spend the majority of your visit with your hygienist and about 2 minutes with the dentist. Because there is so much overhead you get a Spirit Airlines experience where you are constantly getting upsold nonsense. The hygienists are more like used car salesmen than people who clean your teeth. I have been to this place twice and they have tried selling me laser treatment ($100) night guards ($800), Invisilign, a Waterpick ($120), an additional cleaning, and they were going to try to sell me an electric toothbrush if I didn't already have one. The hygienists don't give up the entire visit until you say yes to something. The dentist never says you need any of these things. I never went through with any of these scams. And I will not be going to Biltmore Commons ever again. My first visit was 2 hours (with x-rays) and my second was almost an hour (without x-rays). I have a life and my time is not valued. My recommendation is to find a dentist with less overhead where they can pay for their practice with just regular dental work and not ancillary products.

My 70 year old family member called the office the moment she woke up feeling very sick, stuffy nose, too weak to get out of bed. She was told she would be charged a $50 no show fee because she didn't give them 24 hours notice. Be sure to plan your illnesses in advance everyone! Her options were: 1)drive to the dentist while feeling very weak and sick, expose everyone there with her illness to "prove" she was sick enough, and then drive home or 2) incur a $50 no show fee. We requested this be brought to company leadership to consider her circumstances and remove the charges, but they refused to make any consideration for an ill, low income, senior citizen. $50 is nothing to this company, but significant to someone on a fixed income trying to make ends meet. STAY AWAY from this greedy, inconsiderate company.

So it's been some years since I've been. Need to get some work done, I caught cavities in my remaining wisdom teeth. I recommend to come here from there sister branch in Avondale. Had a booked appointment with Dr.Dhillion. The here was very friendly and thorough, they even found an extra wisdom tooth hiding. The dental hygienist was very open with instructions and if I had concerns. Dr Dhillion was caring and RIDICULOUS fast and efficient. I almost felt bad for worrying. I was wish I could remember ever employee's name that helped me but this right the procedure, so ... Long story short, I have found a Dental Home with West Wind.

Doctor Howard sat down with me before each procedure and explained everything thoroughly as to what she was going to do and what to expect afterwards. I was very at ease with the procedures, (I had all of my upper and lower teeth extracted), and everything went smoothly, because she is very skilled at what she does. They already had made my dentures for me from the impressions they took, and I walked out of there with my new set of teeth. I actually enjoyed my time there because they treated me like family. She now has an office in Avondale at 1619 N Dysart Rd Suite 105. I've worked with Dr. Howard for 7 years and have been delighted with her, her staff and her services. I recommend her highly. She does great work and she CARES. The office at 2316 W. Bethany Home is apparently now run by one Dr. Tia Khoshaba, and it SUCKS! I had a routine 'hygiene' appointment scheduled with Dr. Khoshaba a few weeks ago. A day before the appointment her office called to cancel, stating that she doesn't do 'hygiene' appointments. What is a hygiene appointment? It's when the doctor checks your mouth for issues (like cancer), professionally cleans your dentures and implants, and checks to see if anything needs adjustment or relining, etc. In short, if you get dentures or implants from this office, afterwards it will be up to you to find another dentist to do the 'hygiene'. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE. Go to Avondale. You won't be disappointed.
