This experience was easily 10/10. I will say I am not the typical person who would be coming to…read morelearn about this stuff but I needed to plan for a future inheritance. I decided to make the best of the situation but I came in slightly frustrated that I would be spending an entire weekend and several hundred dollars on something that I didn't have any interest in. I started researching to get information and I was helped very quickly by Jeremy. He answered my emails promptly and let me know about class times that were available in the near future. I got lucky and was able to take both parts of the class over the same weekend. The first part was conducted in a classroom. We learned a lot about guns, laws surrounding firearms and played out scenarios. The class went into a lot of detail that this is a huge responsibility and taught about safety. The course material was professional, well planned and thought out. It was not boring and encouraged a lot of thought and participation. The next day was some more classroom discussion and also involved some hands on training with a real fire arm as well as basic target practice. It was great that the cost of the class covered everything you needed and you were able to take home your ear and eye protection. I appreciated that the course was strictly about the material being taught, no politics were brought up and the environment was welcoming to all. Jeremy was also very encouraging. During the hands on section he was patient and encouraged all to just get more practice to be more comfortable and adjust to using a firearm. To conclude the class we took a test and went over how to fill out the forms to apply for a state permit. The time and money are well spent with this class. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with interest in the topic.

I've been wanting to go to a shooting range for a long time, but never had the time. I also wanted…read moreto try a shooting range that lets you use real guns with real bullets, which there aren't too many in the GTA. I came across Silverdale Gun Club through a Wagjag deal and decided to try them out. It was my first time trying something like this, so I had no idea what to expect. Our instructor was Adam, and he was great. He was very nice, gave us clear instructions, was patient and he answered questions we had. You could tell he really enjoys what he does. I also liked that this range was outdoors. I was grouped with a few other people who also had a Wagjag package, which I liked. It made it more fun and interactive. I enjoyed being able to watch others shoot and encourage everyone as a group. We got earplugs (which you definitely need), and we got to shoot four types of guns - handgun, 9mm, rifle and AKS. I was pretty nervous of the recoil, but I had no issues with any of these guns. My favourite was the AKS because the stance we were in with elbows on the table felt more comfortable. It was also cool to aim through the scope! Apparently this is one of the few places that let you shoot with a wide range of guns. It's also open almost every day of the year, except Christmas and New Year's. Super fun experience and definitely recommend if you want try shooting for the first time or even if you just need somewhere to shoot with your own gun.
