I went with my friend and we did the Lost City. At first it was kind of confusing but there was a difficult challenge in between. We request 8 clues but were able to get out of there with 3 minutes to spare. The staff there were helpful and friendly. They explained everything in detail and helped us out. I wish I remembered their names but it was towards the end of the night and it was 2 males. Thank you for the fun experience!

Before the game started!!

It was fantastic! I absolutely loved it! It was such a fun and wonderful experience. I really enjoyed every part of it, and it made me so happy to participate in the ANTIDOTE :chemical warfare.

Came to Escapology to celebrate my birthday with my fiancé. We played Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express escape room. Our game master's name was Demi, prior to starting he notified us that the Murder on the Orient Express was the most popular and the most challenging escape room they have to offer. He said the success rate was about 20-30%! Knowing this we decided to ask for clues to ensure we were able to get through as many puzzles as possible. Even with clues we couldn't finish the escape room within the 1-hour time limit, but Demi gave us additional time. I'm sure with more people the room will be more doable. We really enjoyed our time here and would like to try some of their other rooms the next time we are in the area.

Escapeology has become a favorite bonding activity for me and my teenage son, and our visit to the Oceanside location while visiting family did not disappoint! We tackled the Batman room, and it was such a fun, immersive experience. The room was challenging without being overwhelming -- perfect for both adults and teens. But if you have younger ones they do have a kids mode. The puzzles were creative, the set design was super detailed, and the storyline had us fully locked in (literally and mentally ). Staff was friendly, explained everything clearly, and kept the energy fun from start to finish. If you're in the Oceanside area and looking for something exciting to do with teens or family, Escapeology is 100% worth it. Pro tip: Book ahead

It's my birthday! It's my birthday! Life is a puzzle and I am here to solve it. Time to take a journey, my friends. It's time to escape reality and solve a mystery. Don't forget to bring the Scooby snacks!!! Cartoon nostalgia is the best way to describe this. If you want to be involved in solving a mystery this is the place you want to be. Unlock your potential with every clue, crack codes, like the smile you'll be cracking with this adventure, and under great pressure you'll discover the hidden key. Go ahead and break out of your comfort zone and don't get locked down find your way out to Escapology. $50 per person ,must sign a waiver ,no cellphone use during your adventure, has more than 5 escape room themes

As escape room enthusiasts, my husband and I sought out this particular location because they are the only site in Southern California (for now) that host the Ruins: Forbidden Adventure. We have done all the other Escape Games except this one! Angela was our game master and she made sure that we had a great time. We were joined by my sister who is fairly new to escape rooms, and Angela honored our request to only provide hints after we ask! We also shared with her beforehand how we had a negative experience with having random strangers join our game. Because the day we stopped by had slower foot traffic, she was able to make our particular game a private one. I can't promise that they will do that on a busy day! The Ruins: Forbidden Adventure is rated a 6/10 difficulty, and I thought that this rating is appropriate from our experience. I know that there is a bigger version of the Ruins in Nashville but this version was so much fun that it made me more excited if I ever get to be in this side of the country in the future. Because we had done all the rooms, we were able to sign their Wall of Fame and that felt particularly special! They also sell pins to commemorate each room. Parking is easy enough. You can tell the staff love working here. Thank you so much Escape Game UTC and Angela. I will definitely recommend this particular franchise and location to all my friends! They also have validation from what I was told - always a plus!

This was a pretty fun escape room experience. We did the Playground puzzle which is rated a 6/10…read moredifficulty. It was a well-orchestrated puzzle with nested clues and lots of interactive parts. We were able to solve it in time with seconds to spare. As many other reviewers have mentioned, there's no way of guaranteeing a private room (unless you were to theoretically book all spots). When booking, it only tells you how many spots are remaining. To avoid confusion, they could easily say how many are remaining out of the total (eg 7/12 spots remaining instead of 7 spots remaining) as the puzzles' capacities vary. We were with two other groups and there was a quick "ice breaker" beforehand. I was unimpressed with the staff member who led the puzzle experience but the guy doing the check-in was nice and the process of filling out a waiver was seamless. Price is high ($45.99) for an escape room, definitely docking a star because of that alone. For an hour of entertainment it's really steep considering the limited amount of staff working. Would I go back? Maybe. They have six different puzzles in total so there's an opportunity to try something new.

We are two for two when it comes to enjoying MindTrap escape rooms!…read more My fiancé, my parents, and I tried out the Excalibur escape at MindTrap's Murrieta location earlier this year, and we really enjoyed it! For that reason, we decided to go with them again the next time we were looking for an escape room for a large group. This time, we selected the 40 Thieves escape at their Temecula location for our group of eight. You can secure the room with two tickets, but we bought six tickets in advance because we knew we would at least have that many. We added the last two right before our start time of 2:30pm day-of. Then we read and signed the waivers on our phones. As before, it was super easy and can be done ahead of time or when you get to the location. Just keep your start time in mind when you're heading over, there may be people waiting to escape after you!! Our group had varying levels of escape room experience, with three people who had never been to one before, three people who had been once previously, and two people who had been to several. We were fortunate enough to have Kadence as our game master, and she was super sweet! Great at her job, and great at making us feel welcome (and not dumb at all lol). We did have to ask for a few hints, and I noticed that we did get a little extra time added on at the end so that we'd be able to finish. Super sweet of her to let us finish!! Kadence told us the 40 Thieves escape is currently MindTrap's most difficult, as it has the most puzzles to solve. They suggest 6 players for this one, but can fit up to 10. I'd say 8 was fun for most of the escape, but the room with the final puzzle definitely had "too many cooks in the kitchen" energy. There was a nice mix of puzzle types so it seemed like everyone had their chance to figure something out. We finished up at the end by taking a group photo with props we liked, thanks to Kadence again for being our photographer! Love this fun keepsake from the experience. My family loves MindTrap and we will continue to book escapes with them until we've done all of them! I'm hoping we can try to do two escapes a year from now on.

We only used one clue and got out with 18 minutes left on the clock. This was set up in a fun way and we were surprised by the little tricks and hidden clues. The kids had so much fun and the service was great. Shout out to Kam who helped us. I understand the complaints by other helpers if you were in a larger group, it would be more difficult to coordinate, especially if it is four other strangers. Luckily it was just our family of four and we were able to have enough space and time to think. At least for our room it was nice to have just four people.

However, they place you in the room with another group, and that group was extremely drunk. Some of the men were argumentative and pushy. Others crumpled to the floor freaking out. It made it hard to enjoy the game. The one sober-ish guy was apologetic afterwards, and the Escape Game offered us another game, which we did not have time for as we were visiting from out of town. The staff were great and very professional. But I really think they should have turned that group away, or put them in their own room as they were literally falling down drunk. I would definitely come here again if I had a big enough group to fill the room, but I wouldn't come on a date.

I found it to be better than a haunted house, cuz I was so enveloped with figuring out the clues that I would forget about the scares and I never knew when the scares would come. It was a multi room escape room and I would consider it a medium to hard level. Our game master was super friendly and helpful when we needed hints. I think we did a total of two hint through out the game and we managed to beat the clock and got out in time! The parking wasn't the best, it was all street parking with meters. When you get to the location it is a bit hard to find the front door because it is on the back side of the building up some stairs. However, the Japanese Thriller barely felt on theme with the serial killer storyline other than the introduction video we received. I prefer escape rooms where I actually feel like I'm part of the story. This was a very different escape room than I have done before. While you always have to split up for escape rooms, this time we were forced to separate between multiple rooms so you had no idea how the other group was doing (this isn't great when you're forced to solve the room with strangers because you have no idea if they know what they're doing). It was definitely more chaotic than other escape rooms I've done. The rooms were small and they use locks for a lot of the puzzles, which isn't innovative. They also forgot to put back one of the pieces we needed to get the final combination, so we almost didn't make it out because we had to keep guessing. HOWEVER, the worst part of the entire experience was how RUDE the man was that was helping us on the walkie talkie. He would give us attitude every time we asked for a clue. Why give clues if you're going to rude when people use them?
