I've played a lot of escape rooms, good and bad. While the rooms here are really nice and well…read morebuilt, overall the escape room is a bit lackluster. Our group played the Batman one. There were some good puzzles, tricky ones. But what's really frustrating is that the game is apparently linear. We had actually solved one of the complex puzzles and correctly input the right code over and over, but because they will only let you do it one way, you have to solve another puzzle first. So thinking ahead in this game will not get you anywhere, and I think that takes away some of the fun of an escape room.

It's like if someone crossed a SkyZone Trampoline Park with a McDonald's Playpen and slapped it with a coat of pastel paint and candy stickers. Sorry, CANDEE stickers. I will say that the prices are very reasonable. $25 buys you two hours of playtime. Grip socks are extra, food is extra, some of the games are extra. And the area itself is impressively clean, especially considering the number of young children traipsing about. On the negative side of things, however, the list is a bit longer. First, there's not a ton to do. Candeeland has limited space to work with and much of it is taken up by sitting areas for parents. The empty space could easily house 2-3 more small activities without sacrificing any existing areas. Still, what activities they do have are pretty intricate, with the multilevel play area having a nice array of padded areas for children to crawl through and a toddler area with nice pneumatic tube setup to delight the young. Next, even though the place is less than a year old, there's already some breakage of some of the area. There's a floor made up of touch screens that displays numerous games for kids to step on a play with. However, it's apparent that some larger kids have smacked a number of screens, causing them to go out or flicker. Which leads to my biggest issue. There are not that many people working here. This means that there are usually people minding the gate and checking if your kid is leaving with the right person. But, there aren't enough people on the floor to ensure safety or police older kids from doing things they shouldn't be doing. Candeeland really is a place that caters to those between 3-8 years of age. Older kids either don't fit on some of the slides or play a bit too rough with the environment. More than once, a screaming 12 year old almost barreled over my kid, knocked her off a slide, or hit her with one of the nerf axes. Sure, they balk when you glare at them. But, they just go back to screaming and thrashing about while their parents sleep oblivious in the corner. So, does my seven year old like Candeeland? Yes, she loved it and wants to come back. Did I like Candeeland? M'eh, not particularly. Still, I'm sure I'll be back eventually...

I was very specific about my floral vision and discussed in detail with Alona several times on what I wanted. Specifically for reception, the most important floral element for me was the sweetheart table. We discussed repurposing the ceremony florals to create a full, circular arch behind the sweetheart table with additional florals around the base of the table. She had assured me we would have enough florals from the ceremony to repurpose to not only the sweetheart table, but also the welcome table/bar/cake table as well. I even bought more florals for the ceremony arch to achieve this sweetheart table vision. However, this is not what we received. On the day of the wedding, Alona's team told us the start of our reception needed to be delayed by approximately 30 minutes because they were still working on the reception florals. We waited to seat our guests because we wanted to give them the time they needed to finish. Despite the delay, the sweetheart table installation was still extremely sparse and looked unfinished. The arch behind us was mostly bare and there were only two floral arrangements on the ground. I have attached the inspiration pic we discussed and the final result. I was mortified when I saw it - it looked so bare and incomplete. Additionally, this delay threw off the rest of our reception timeline. Dinner had to be shortened so we ended up having to skip "table touching", which was something we had really been looking forward to. I was very sad and disappointed when I walked into the reception because the sweetheart table was one of the elements we had discussed in detail as I cared a lot about it. The ceremony arch had a significant amount of florals, so I am still confused about what happened during the repurposing process. I am confused where the ceremony arch flowers went, since they don't appear to have been used to create the sweetheart table installation nor were there any flowers at the bar, cake table, or welcome table. I reached out to Alona after the wedding to understand what happened. It has now been almost three weeks without a response. I would have appreciated the courtesy of at least an explanation. Paying 5 figures for florals to have the sweetheart table look like this is incredibly disappointing. When I look back at my reception photos, I get upset with how bad and bare it looked. Don't even get me started on the ceiling florals that started to fall during the reception. I highly do not recommend Chic Flowers.

Unfortunately, her communication from the start was spotty at best and required excessive prompting on my end. She repeatedly promised quotes and proposals by specific dates and failed to follow through. While I understand that wedding season is busy, this does not excuse consistently poor communication and lack of follow-through when working with clients who are planning such important events. To illustrate, here's a brief timeline: 5/28: Alona emails me in response to an inquiry submitted to her website, asking when I'll be available for a phone consultation. I reply same-day with my availability. 6/8: No response; I follow up. 6/9: She offers a phone consultation for 6/10. 6/10: Phone consultation; she promises a proposal by the next day. 6/12: No proposal; I follow up. She promises to send by 6/13. 6/16: Still nothing; I follow up again. 6/17: Finally receive a proposal. 6/19 - 6/22: Back-and-forth revisions; budget and design issues arise. 6/24: I follow up via phone and text after no response. Still no reply as of 7/2. In the end, I chose to move forward with another florist whose communication, professionalism, and enthusiasm gave me far more peace of mind. I firmly do not recommend working with Alona if you value reliability and clear communication during your wedding planning process.

My wife could tell you that I am probably the biggest "over researcher" there is and without a doubt, I read through thousands of different reviews during our vendor searching. STOP your wedding coordinator search right here!! I guarantee you that you will not be in better hands with a level of service that is 50X the price you will pay. Emily did not just shine on our wedding day, nor for just the month leading up to it, but starting with 6 months to go! She was organized, genuine, on top of things without being overbearing, confident and in control, and a de-stresser at all the right times. I am cursed with being a perfectionist and it is genuinely tough for me to not be in complete control. The fact that I let Emily completely take over and run our wedding day is a testament to the confidence she made us feel in her ability to get things done. Her and her team were running around helping set up decor, pickup last minute details we forgot, calling vendors that were late, dealing with all of the deliveries and setups, etc. When I tell you she did a PERFECT job, that included handling a situation with our caterer being an hour and a half late and not responding to 7 voicemails. She didn't inform us until it was absolutely necessary, she had already begun working up a backup plan, and when they did eventually show up at the same time with the guests, she cleared them out of the way and made sure they had everything done in time for cocktail hour. I can't explain how much Emily truly cares about your day being perfect. She also was extremely conscious of our tight budget and loaned up some of her own decor and easels to use along with getting us in touch with a wholesale florist who came in $1000 less then our cheapest bid! They were also beautiful so use Hidalgo Flowers if you are looking for another awesome human being who does great work. I am telling you that Emily was BY FAR the best money we spent during our wedding and she helped us make what looked to be a $50,000 wedding for a 1/3 of that. From our initial meeting, to the prep, to the day of our 130 person wedding(where she even made sure we got to eat), through cleanup, to follow up- Emily crushed it! The only advice of mine that I hope she takes is that she raises her rates because she deserves more for all of her efforts and the teammates she brings in for the day of. She has plenty of years of experience working for someone else but launched her own business just a couple years ago. PLEASE take my advice and book this wonderful woman.
