I will say that the prices are very reasonable. $25 buys you two hours of playtime. Grip socks are extra, food is extra, some of the games are extra. And the area itself is impressively clean, especially considering the number of young children traipsing about. On the negative side of things, however, the list is a bit longer. First, there's not a ton to do. Candeeland has limited space to work with and much of it is taken up by sitting areas for parents. The empty space could easily house 2-3 more small activities without sacrificing any existing areas. Still, what activities they do have are pretty intricate, with the multilevel play area having a nice array of padded areas for children to crawl through and a toddler area with nice pneumatic tube setup to delight the young. Next, even though the place is less than a year old, there's already some breakage of some of the area. There's a floor made up of touch screens that displays numerous games for kids to step on a play with. However, it's apparent that some larger kids have smacked a number of screens, causing them to go out or flicker. Which leads to my biggest issue. There are not that many people working here. This means that there are usually people minding the gate and checking if your kid is leaving with the right person. But, there aren't enough people on the floor to ensure safety or police older kids from doing things they shouldn't be doing. Candeeland really is a place that caters to those between 3-8 years of age. Older kids either don't fit on some of the slides or play a bit too rough with the environment. More than once, a screaming 12 year old almost barreled over my kid, knocked her off a slide, or hit her with one of the nerf axes. Sure, they balk when you glare at them. But, they just go back to screaming and thrashing about while their parents sleep oblivious in the corner. So, does my seven year old like Candeeland? Yes, she loved it and wants to come back. Did I like Candeeland? M'eh, not particularly. Still, I'm sure I'll be back eventually...

Unfortunately, her communication from the start was spotty at best and required excessive prompting on my end. She repeatedly promised quotes and proposals by specific dates and failed to follow through. While I understand that wedding season is busy, this does not excuse consistently poor communication and lack of follow-through when working with clients who are planning such important events. To illustrate, here's a brief timeline: 5/28: Alona emails me in response to an inquiry submitted to her website, asking when I'll be available for a phone consultation. I reply same-day with my availability. 6/8: No response; I follow up. 6/9: She offers a phone consultation for 6/10. 6/10: Phone consultation; she promises a proposal by the next day. 6/12: No proposal; I follow up. She promises to send by 6/13. 6/16: Still nothing; I follow up again. 6/17: Finally receive a proposal. 6/19 - 6/22: Back-and-forth revisions; budget and design issues arise. 6/24: I follow up via phone and text after no response. Still no reply as of 7/2. In the end, I chose to move forward with another florist whose communication, professionalism, and enthusiasm gave me far more peace of mind. I firmly do not recommend working with Alona if you value reliability and clear communication during your wedding planning process.

After vetting 18 floral vendors (yes, 18!!!), Alona came in the strongest and was able to understand our vision the most. She was very easy to talk to on the phone as well as over email. Over the course of almost 14 months of wedding planning, there were times when I had to reach out to her and update our floral count. Alona did not give us a hard time about the updates at all or make it seem as if she was annoyed, unlike how other florists were while I was just vetting them! Our floral vibes were to be basically all white roses, baby's breath, with some boho touches to the arrangements. My initial bridal bouquet incorporated white roses and a few orchids. The biggest painpoint for us was having to lock in the best deal despite how many boutonnieres and corsages we needed for our larger (FIlipino traditional) wedding. Not only did Alona come in the closest to our floral budget, on the day of the wedding, she surprised me with absolutely beautiful touches of white peonies and carnations to my bouquet at no additional cost! Additionally, the bouquets for each of the tables as well as on our wedding cake were full and fresh looking. All of our guests complimented how beautiful the flowers were and wanted to take an arrangement home! I cannot recommend Alona enough for your wedding florals. Wedding planning is already super stressful. Make it less stressful by partnering with Alona and her team!

We are SOOOO lucky Emily reached out to us via Thumbtack. Her quote seemed very fair at the time we received it but would be lying if we said we weren't nervous by her lack of reviews. My wife could tell you that I am probably the biggest "over researcher" there is and without a doubt, I read through thousands of different reviews during our vendor searching. STOP your wedding coordinator search right here!! I guarantee you that you will not be in better hands with a level of service that is 50X the price you will pay. Emily did not just shine on our wedding day, nor for just the month leading up to it, but starting with 6 months to go! She was organized, genuine, on top of things without being overbearing, confident and in control, and a de-stresser at all the right times. I am cursed with being a perfectionist and it is genuinely tough for me to not be in complete control. The fact that I let Emily completely take over and run our wedding day is a testament to the confidence she made us feel in her ability to get things done. Her and her team were running around helping set up decor, pickup last minute details we forgot, calling vendors that were late, dealing with all of the deliveries and setups, etc. When I tell you she did a PERFECT job, that included handling a situation with our caterer being an hour and a half late and not responding to 7 voicemails. She didn't inform us until it was absolutely necessary, she had already begun working up a backup plan, and when they did eventually show up at the same time with the guests, she cleared them out of the way and made sure they had everything done in time for cocktail hour. I can't explain how much Emily truly cares about your day being perfect. She also was extremely conscious of our tight budget and loaned up some of her own decor and easels to use along with getting us in touch with a wholesale florist who came in $1000 less then our cheapest bid! They were also beautiful so use Hidalgo Flowers if you are looking for another awesome human being who does great work. I am telling you that Emily was BY FAR the best money we spent during our wedding and she helped us make what looked to be a $50,000 wedding for a 1/3 of that. From our initial meeting, to the prep, to the day of our 130 person wedding(where she even made sure we got to eat), through cleanup, to follow up- Emily crushed it! The only advice of mine that I hope she takes is that she raises her rates because she deserves more for all of her efforts and the teammates she brings in for the day of. She has plenty of years of experience working for someone else but launched her own business just a couple years ago. PLEASE take my advice and book this wonderful woman.
