I have done the Sherlock Holmes Illuminati room and The Cabin at Escape in Time. I enjoyed both rooms and felt like the clues could be deciphered. I did the Cabin with my sister and two other friends and we felt like the puzzles were difficult but could be done. We had to ask for a few clues and needed an extra 30 seconds to finish. Our flashlight batteries were dying which I think made it more difficult to get one of the clues. I thought the Sherlock room was easier but there were more puzzles to work through. We finished that room with two and a half minutes to spare. I have done five escape rooms in total and would recommend Escape in Time. Both times I booked with Mark and he was very pleasant. He ran late arriving at the business while we were waiting outside, so he took a few dollars off the price which worked for us. We still really enjoyed ourselves. read more

This is our first time coming to this escape room. It was a total of 12 of us and we all very much enjoyed it. Mark, was amazing and very friendly and made the experience smooth and enjoyable. The attendant was an rude and out of line. We were 10 minutes late because at the last minute I had to pick up a couple of the kids I that were participating and their location is not easy to find. I walked in and the first thing he said was you guys are so late. I tell him about the difficulty finding the place and he says you should have called earlier. Then after we were done he tells the kids that the main thing they should never do is wait to ask for help like I did. Confused I said I never told them to wait and he again says I waited to call for help finding the place. Maybe there should be clearer directions or signage so it's easier to find! I drove across town to get here and did not appreciate being treated this way. I already hate being late for things and am usually the one early. I did not need to be chastised by this person. I will not be returning and would not recomend this place to anyone. I went there to get my child's mind off of the SAT test he is taking tomorrow and came out with him feeling like he needed to give me a hug and apologize for the attendant. read more

This was our first time attempting Escape In Time. We had a group of 10 and were celebrating my daughters 15th birthday. There is a great deal on Groupon. We all had an amazing time. We were greeted as soon as we walk in, the check in and orientation was simple. We're were "locked in" within minutes of our arrival. They allowed 3 hints and we used all of them. We had 1 hour to meet the objectives and escape the room. When the time clock reached 1 minute, they kept extending the time for us. We probably received an extra 5 minutes. We will definitely be going back to try the other room they have. read more

We had an ok time doing this escape room, but were pretty disappointed by the decor/ state of the rooms. We expected the Sherlock room to be much closer to the pictures that are featured on the website. Unfortunately, the room was very sparsely decorated with a hodgepodge of items, many of which didn't even fit the Sherlock theme (I believe there was a lamp with palm trees on it.) Several of the items also had the markings or stickers from the second hand store they were bought from. I have no problem with decorating with second hand items, but in a place where every detail will be scrutinized and could potentially be a clue, the prices and markings really need to be removed or painted over. Even simple things like painting the room in a dark, rich color would lend it to feel more like Sherlock's study ( I remember being really surprised by the room color, for some reason I think it was painted blue.) The really poor decor significantly took away from the experience for our group. It didn't transport you like other escape rooms we've done where the rooms are decked out on theme. Also, it took about 10-15 minutes for anyone to greet us in the lobby. There are no signs stating what to do or how to check in, so we walked in and waited awkwardly for someone to come let us know what to do. I'd suggest on a Saturday to have someone in the lobby to greet and instruct guests or at least a sign that says something along the lines of please have a seat and your guide will be out at the start time to escort you in. We did enjoy the interactive screen where the moderators would provide clues and the man who was working was very polite. It could be great but the rooms need a lot of work. read more

AMAZING! We had an absolute blast. We did the Sherlock room, our ages were 10, 13, 18, and 40, we all were able to contribute in our own way. I usually do not leave reviews for places I've been, but this place is a great to go with family or friends looking for something to do! The room was much more creative than many of the mainstream escape rooms out there. My man David was so helpful and super personable explaining his future plans for this location. We just barely made it through Sherlock Holmes vs. Illuminati with our family team of all ages. The puzzles and clues were challenging to figure out. The help we received when we asked for clues was helpful, but still made us think. Working together and dividing the tasks is the key (pun intended) to getting out of the room. My first time here and we did the Sherlock Holmes vs Illuminati theme. I'm with Melissa with the decor. I expected more out of the theme and design. I'm a very visual person and when I walked in, I thought "oh, this is it?" It wasn't 6 roo. I wanted to ha g out in for an hour. It just needed more of an artistic touch. I really couldn't get into the game for this reason. I think they delivered on the overall game portion and we still had a good time so I gave a 4-star review although I do believe there's plenty of room for improvement. read more

We had a great time. We did the Cabin. It was our first experience with dark escape room. It was just the right level of stress and excitement. Both of my kids (9&12) we able to participate and solve clues. The room was challenging, frustrating and solvable.....perfect. The staff was extremely friendly and took time to make sure the room was set up for us in a way that we could handle (given our party size and experience level.) After the experience the proprietor played a few more mind games with us. You should definitely give this place a try. Super fun and very friendly. read more

Wow, do not waste your money on this room. The young man was our host and rude to begin with. We did the cabin and things were already broken in there to begin with. The host acted put out and almost disgusted with helping with clues. Went to the second room to work out clues and the final room is so small you cant fit more than 2/3 people in it. Did not finish because there is literally no direction in there theory's. The host came in to explain and could not get some of the things to work himself. If they cant get it to work than how are you suppose to figure out that there stuff is broken. There were people in our group that have done other escape rooms and said this is the worst one they have ever done. Not impressed! UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW. Although I had issues, (maybe if we had a different host things would have gone differently) they were immediately addressed by the company and the outcome was very justified! I felt like they listened to my problem and addressed it promptly. Every one has a bad day and maybe he was just not on his game that day (it was late). This place is an unprofessional rip-off. We got there and the AC had been knocked out during a storm, I understand that this was a temporary issue. However the place did not call to inform me that the AC was down or ask if I would like a refund. When we said we were leaving the employee said claimed that he had sent the refund in an email but even 3 days later we still had no money. The place was also filthy the bathroom was disgusting. This was our first time with an escape room and it was wonderful!!! Mark met us at the door with a welcoming smile. We had 3 kids with us, ages 10, 12, & 14. They really worked to figure out the clues, and we totally enjoyed seeing their expressions when they were successful. Mark was very helpful, explaining the process and helping with clues using a video monitor in the room. There was no frustration, only elation. We all want to do this again. Wow. I'm super disappointed! I have been here 2 other times with my best friends and absolutely could not wait to come again on a double date. We did the Theater room. At the beginning of the game, they stated not to mess with the electronics, that they weren't a part of the game... so we didn't. As we were looking for clues, we noticed there was a spot where a bulb belonged, so naturally we assumed that would be a clue, we did not think it was a part of the "electronic" clause since clearly it appeared to be a clue. We mentioned it several times and then noticed near the end of the game that there was a bulb where the popcorn stuff was. We were so excited thinking it was a clue and ran to grab the bulb and place it where the opening was. We were never reckless nor did we mess up anything in the room. Immediately following placing the bulb, the entire room went dead and we were rushed out of the room where they basically acted like we finished the game. Confused about how to all played out, and disappointed we didn't get to finish, we left. We returned back thinking about playing another game and just accepted that the first game "broke." We were approached by two employees who then began acting strange around us when we requested to play another game. Finally, they told us they weren't comfortable letting us go into another room since we "deliberately" broke a rule while playing the game. They acted like we were reckless teenagers going in there to break their stuff, which clearly was not the case. It was not fair how they treated us. We will not be returning to this escape the room. I am super disappointed in how they handled the situation when the person who came in the room could clearly see it was not intentional. They never gave us a chance to talk through what happened before shoo-ing us off. read more

Fun hour long activity to do with our family while visiting Denver. Really clean and "new" escape rooms in a really old building. Definitely challenging and fun. Loved this place. My wife, her brother and I did the Sherlock room last week. The puzzles were challenging, but there was a great flow to everything. Moving from one clue to the next made sense so it didn't feel like we were just trying random number combinations on all of the locks (like other escape rooms we've tried). With three of us, we used the full 60 minute time limit (actually went 38 seconds over), so the pace was great and we felt like we got our money's worth. Also, the decor was great and some of the locking mechanisms were really clever, but I won't spoil them here. I highly recommend this place and plan to go try the other room soon. read more
