This is my third Escape Hour room I've done (the first at this location), and they knock it out of the park each and every time. Our group of 5 completed Siren's Cove and had a total blast. From the set design, puzzle design, storytelling, lighting, sound, atmosphere, creativity - everything was top notch. All of us were engaged from start to finish, so many puzzles require you to think outside of the box while still making complete sense. By far my favorite escape room I've ever done. This one will be hard to top. That being said, I can't really say the mystery merch add-ons are worth the price. They seem better suited for younger folks, so be aware if you plan on ordering one. Escape hour is my absolute favorite place to do escape rooms! I'm not from the area but every time I'm visiting I make sure to stop in. All of the employees have been super nice as well as committed to the immersion of the experience. This franchise has by far the best set design I've seen so far and I'm excited to try more of their rooms in the future. Both their Point Ruston and Gig Harbor location are great, though I'd recommend Temetra's Hex @Point Ruston. However it can be a bit challenging at some points so don't be afraid to ask your guide for a hint! read more

Note: We were a group of four, and we've done a LOT of escape rooms. Potential spoiler-y language ahead! We did Temetra's Hex. One of the group had been to this location before and really enjoyed the escape room then, so I was looking forward to it. The good: I LOVED the physicality of this room. I loved interacting with the furniture in new ways (ceiling??), loved climbing on and over and across stuff, loved passing clues through bars and holes. That stuff was excellent. I liked the feel of the room and all the decor, though one person in our group felt that it made no story-thematic sense for the room (which, maybe agreed). The bad: 1. The linearity of the puzzles. I think this means that it would've been more fun with only two people rather than four, because it often meant two people were doing nothing. 2. Some "bad" puzzles. There were a couple puzzles in a row that were just "get a key to open a box to get another literal key (not a puzzle) to open another lock", which feels pointlessly long-- why not just have the first key open the second lock if there's no advantage to it? And then a couple puzzles were also locked behind other puzzles but when gotten were hardly puzzles at all. 3. Our writing tablet also broke and when we asked if we could get a new one we were basically told "no", and I'm not sure why. Communicating with our GM was a little fraught, and since some of the magic was faked through having our GM trigger a thing, if they weren't paying attention, we were much more annoyed at something "not working". 4. Bad tech. Some of the puzzles just weren't working well. There was one in particular that required putting objects into a hole for ID, and it required jamming them over and over until it hit the right spot. We made it out with some time left. It ended up feeling only o.k.a.y because half the team would be basically forced to do nothing while the rest did everything, and then finicky tech or poor-attention-faked-tech made for a poorer experience. Again, I loved the physicality, so I would consider going again (maybe with a slightly less proficient group so it's not as boring haha). But if you're an escape room veteran, I don't know that it would be fun to go as a large(r than two person) group. read more

My family and I came on a Sunday night to do the 6 person max escape room. Right when we walked in the host was friendly and gave us some instructions before starting. The escape room was well decorated and used the entire room which made it look bigger. There were challenging puzzles and it took all 6 of our brains to figure it out. Came as a little celebration with family from Hawaii and we did the Sirens Cove with Jada as our game master. The room was WAY more intricate and fun than any of us anticipated. Not only that, Jada, from the very moment we walked in was so inviting and hyped. She was an amazing support for the members who never played an escape room and also was so friendly! We have done probably 20+ escape rooms, and this was probably our favorite escape room experience of all time. We did Temetra's Hex for my husband's birthday, and everything was just meticulously well thought out. The puzzles made sense, there was plenty for us all to do, and there were some incredible details that added to the experience--even in how they gave clues and helped us along. Just a 10/10 all around and cannot wait to come back for Siren's Cove. We always have a great experience at Escape Hour locations but this one stands out as the ultimate win for us. Excellent design, incredible employees and overall a really fun and fulfilling experience. Bonus: when you impress a couple teenage boys, you're for sure doing it right. My family always looks for new and crazy escape rooms. The room was challenging, but the staff was the best part. They stay in character the entire time you are there. They don't have much parking, two stalls in the front of the store, but other than that, I would recommend this escape room. read more

Sirens cove review Alright it's a very hot take but. The room was over hyped. We are very seasoned escape room enthusiasts so take this with a grain of salt. After looking at nothing but amazing reviews and such kind words we were sure that this place was going to knock our socks off. But. It simply didn't. I cannot write this review without explaining all the positives about this room and trust me there's a lot! The staff were extremely nice, the building was in great shape, the room its self truly was well fabricated. Step by step was clear as long as you solved a puzzle. You never solved a puzzle and were left wondering what to do. That sounds like a no brainer but when you've done the amount of rooms we have, it's actually rare to find a place that the puzzles feel satisfying. All the puzzles worked perfectly. No jimmying or forcing it to work they were extremely smooth operating. The room felt challenging enough to feel like you're having fun and need to communicate really well in order to do the room but not to easy or hard where it felt useless. Pretty advanced room in terms of some technology with puzzles upon completion so that deserves some praise. At this point you're probably wondering why such a low star rating for what seems to be the perfect room. The biggest turn off of this room was the combination of the hype, and oh boy the price. They pride themselves on this room being rated some top room nationwide or something and featured in articles or whatever which don't get me wrong. That's great. But it definitely was oversold and they use that as bait for their pricing. This is the MOST EXPENSIVE ROOM BAR NON we have ever done. They have dynamic pricing based on day of the week and how many people in the party are playing which totally makes sense but for our group of 4 people this room cost over $260 on a Friday evening with the online booking fee and so on. We have done plenty of rooms that rightfully deserve the equal amount of praise in terms of quality and overall room experience and honestly more challenging rooms (in a good way ) for literally half the price. I hate to knock this rating down so much just because of the price but it really was just very much overpriced. Another aspect is now this is 100% our personal preference on escape room experiences, however, the room was very quantity based physical puzzle/lock escape vs we rooms most enjoy when you leave the room and your brain hurts from thinking some hard because the puzzles are mentally challenging. The staff and business deserves great props and it still is a very high quality experience despite all that. read more

We had a wonderful time at Escape Hour Point Ruston. Every aspect of the experience was superior or on par with any other escape room I've done in the Puget Sound Area. The game master was delightful, both before and during the experience. We arrived a little early and had time to chat before we got started. Once in the game Lis was very attentive. I've been to other escape room experiences where a single game master is juggling many rooms at the same time, or less attentive for other reasons. But Liss always seemed active and available for our game. The aesthetics of the room are excellent. There are a few Halloween decoration sort of figures mixed in, which don't stand out too much, and wouldn't be anything to mention at all if it wasn't for the fact that everything else in the room feels so unique and natural to the setting. By far the best escape room set I've ever been on where a ton of care where was clearly put into making every detail contribute to the experience. The room's narrative is a lot of fun and far more exciting than most. Compared to other rooms, this one's story feels much more to be happening to the players right now rather than a mystery you're solving about events in the past. The game master certainly has something to do with that feeling The puzzles are fun with a lot of variety. There were tons of challenges available at any particular time to keep every member of our group active and involved in doing something. We had what felt like a pretty good pace getting through things but still ended just shy of completing the room. I recommend bringing a few extra friends along for the added sets of eyes and hands. read more

We came for a birthday adventure and Siren's Cove did not disappoint. The rooms are immersive and well designed. The puzzles were challenging but not difficult. Of course we needed some nudging along the way. The staff was very welcoming and even took the time to write me a little birthday card which was very sweet! We've done multiple Escape Rooms at various different locations and this one did not disappoint. We were first greeted by Ellie and had to explain that we had run into an accident on the freeway causing a delay in our teammates arrival. She was super understanding and gave us some options of how we could proceed. Our teammates ended up arriving with 1 minute remaining before the room start time, Ellie sped through the explanations of the game since we were behind in schedule, and was absolutely amazing. Without giving anything away, we loved even the entrance to the actual room. We did Siren's Cove and this room is great. Definitely not just your one room boring Escape Room, you may crawl, climb, etc, it's fantastic. There are so many fun puzzles in this room, and so many different ways to work as a team together. Ellie did a fantastic job guiding us through the game, only helping us when we really needed a boost, and laughing with us or joking as we were laughing at ourselves. We escaped with nearly 8 minutes to spare and absolutely loved it. This was definitely one of our favorite rooms, we can't wait to come back. read more

We came here for two visits. 1st Visit - There were four of us in our party and it was our first time doing an escape room. The only one available at the time was Temetra's Hex. We all filled out the waiver forms online and were ready to go as soon as we got there. We, unfortunately, forgot our gamemaster's name but they were well-versed and enthusiastic in the script. I don't think any of us were expecting a backstory but enjoyed it nonetheless. We were a little afraid to touch stuff when we entered. Again, it was our first time and we weren't really sure what was acceptable. For the first 10-15 minutes we touched things gently to see if they did anything. We didn't even move the lanterns. Instead, we walked items over to any light we could. Finally, the gamemaster reminded us that we could move things and use the lanterns. That's when our game really started. The four of us felt easier at moving around and touching things. The comments, nudges, and hints were appreciated when we asked. And I was reminded that the....thing...I don't remember what animal the animatronic was, was named Jinx and not Alexa :P There were a couple of tight spaces, crawling, and short climbing to do. Although that wasn't expected, it was pretty neat to have to be so active in a puzzle-solving situation "game". Our children didn't mention doing any of this kind of thing in their escape rooms (Another location in Tacoma and one in Seattle). *At least two of us are overweight and we were still able to participate in each of the areas. Anyhow, we only got about 85% done before time ran out. I don't think we did too bad considering it was our first time and that we spent our first 10-15 minutes trying not to break anything. ----------------- 2nd Visit - Our children (24 & 31), and son-in-law, all agreed to forego Christmas this year and do an Escape Room together instead. We suggested Point Ruston since it was close and none of them had been to this one. As mentioned, we (the parents) already did Temetra's Hex, so we booked Siren's Cove. We were all set with waiver forms online, we put our items in the provided locker and got started. We had a different gamemaster this time but still, they were well-versed and enthusiastic. We volunteered our son-in-law as tribute to walk down the hallway first :P Once we got in, we went to work. All on different things. I kind of stayed out of the way since the room was small with five of us, and just looked around taking ownership of the writing tablet, writing things as they called them out. No one was worried about touching things this time. I don't want to give away anything, so I'll just say that there was a short "climb" for one person, and a crawl space in another area. Other than that, I don't think there was very much physical activity. Once all areas were opened there was a lot of room to move around. We completed this challenge with 11 minutes to spare. *I have to mention, that my family are gamers (DND, boardgames, online, PVP, RPG, etc). Not so much us anymore (the parents - former WoW raiders), but the three of them still are. They made quick work of puzzles with little hints. I think they declined all but two hints from the gamemasters. Our finish time wasn't because the room was easy. When we finished we received a "We Escaped" button :) We had a lot of fun and our children said this was way better than the other Escape rooms that they've done. One of them bought a passport for more. We plan on booking Gig Harbor's location for a coming birthday. 10/10 - We would all recommend! read more

A group of friends and I went and did the Siren's Cove escape room. Our game masters Lexy and her "co-host"( whose name I cannot remember ), made it super intricate and exciting for all of us. The escape room itself is so in-depth and has something for everyone to do. We had 6 people and were all busy doing something. Lexy and the other person were super awesome to us. If you're looking for something immersive and truly worth it, escape hour is it. EDIT** The room was challenging but not too too difficult. Siren's Cove has a very thoughtful design. The room contains handful amount of puzzles to keep us busy even we consider ourselves pretty experienced players.
