So glad we took the time to head down to Tacoma to complete these rooms! We have done over 50 rooms at this point - just my wife and I completed all four in a weeks' time - here are our thoughts The Cure The first of the rooms here. Not linear at all, lots to do and look at. The final puzzle was one I was very familiar with so I knew what I was looking for and how to solve - had that not been the case we would not have escaped as we did it with a mere 54 seconds remaining. I think this room could use 3-4 people, especially if they are newer to escape rooms. Enjoyed the immersion, some of the puzzles weren't our favorite as they weren't real clear on what to do, but the room is solid. The Sorcerer's Rescue Another big room with lots of things to do. Definitely recommend four people even if seasoned...there's just a lot to do here, we needed two extra minutes. The hardest of the rooms offered currently. Immersion is great, if wizards and potions and pixies are your thing you'll love this room. The Estate They said Condemned was the easiest, I felt it was The Estate, but I also guess that depends on your strengths. The estate was a pretty straightforward escape room, very linear but in a way that two people can work together rather one sitting while other doing all the work. These are the rooms we work best on and really enjoyed working through this room quickly. Escaped with about 27 minutes left. The Condemned This is my favorite room. Like of all the rooms we have done, and we have done two top award winning rooms in Seattle and LA. I wish I could forget about it and do it again. I have recommended it to no less than a dozen people since doing it. Creepy, spooky, make me scream rooms are right up my alley. So much fun. We have done a lot of scary rooms and this had the *right* amount of terror so you could still focus. Escaped with a little over 18 min left and had so much fun doing so. All in all we had a blast. There is something for everyone here. Linear and non-linear. Scary and mild. Fantasy and reality. Also, I forgot to mention, the staff get into character with you to really set the scene. With everywhere opening escape rooms that is a little touch that is being missed. It really sets the scene and gets the room started right. We have done two escape rooms at Enigma and both were so much fun. Well designed rooms with well designed puzzles that are challenging without being frustrating. The rooms are immersive with the themes too. The Condemned is haunted house themed and had a couple small jump scares which added to the experience. Just did the Holiday room this week. Great puzzles. Great story line for figuring the puzzles out. Almost did not make it!!! I had a great immersive experience in the Sorcerer's Rescue room. I was there celebrating a birthday with a friend. The puzzles were varied and unique. There were different kinds of unlocking mechanics that I hadn't seen before in an escape room. I can always appreciate the imagination and creativity. Our family has had the pleasure of going to many escape rooms. We have done them in Hawaii, Florida, Olympia, Sun River, and now Tacoma. First off, booking was very easy and they even offer a discount for law enforcement and military. MUCH APPRECIATED! They have a lot of choices of rooms and give a lot of information about each one so you can make the best decision for you and your family. Parking was super easy (they have their own lot and it is free). They took appropriate covid precautions and everything appeared clean and safe. Waivers to play were quick and easy. The employees were super friendly and efficient and stayed in character. As for the room - The Estate, the 5 of us conquered it in 43 minutes with one hint. It was linear and there were times when the 5 of us got bottlenecked. We prefer rooms where there are multiple tasks that each of us can be working on independently and then come back together to piece it all together. It would be perfect if they could add some pieces of the puzzle to work on together but not at the same time so we are all not working on the same puzzle. I don't want to give a spoiler but one section had us all in the same place for several minutes working on just one task. At any rate, we had an great time and really enjoyed the experience. Escape rooms are pricey so we don't get to do them all the time but we will definitely come back to Enigma next time we are ready to play. read more

Leaving 3 stars bc this was simply the least impressive escape room I've ever done / been too. We did "the cure" & with 8 people it just was not challenging enough. Not enough for everyone to do stuff although room says 4-8 people. I prefer rooms with more suspense, better props and overall just more theatrics. Also over priced. 40/pp for 8 people. I usually pay 30-32 with this many people and am left feeling like I was challenged and had fun. Many in our group commented on how lack luster this was all around. I hope this improves bc I don't want to drive to Seattle in order to do escape rooms. read more

My wife and I went here for a date. We chose The Cure escape room. It started off with a simple instructional video on how the locks work while providing back story and some context to your situation. After the video ended, the escape began! We quickly moved into the room and a kind man showed us how the walky talky worked and we met our friendly hint lady through it. We were allowed unlimited hints, but we tried hard to not use any. From there my wife and I swept through the room, identifying all the locks we needed and quickly figured out our first clue, first key, and first code. It was a whirlwind as we rushed to put pieces together. There were a couple of really cool surprises in this escape room that had my wife and i giggling like kids. We got through about 70% of the locks and codes. We only missed 3 by the time we ran out of time. Our lovely assistant came in and guided us through the rest of the puzzles and informed us only about 35% of groups are completely successful. My wife and I felt accomplished though since this was our first time doing an escape room. We will definitely be back for more! read more

This was a great little escape room place. We did "The Estate" themed room in 46ish minutes. It was just my husband and I, so they said that's an impressive accomplishment. The employees were enthusiastic and clear on the directions. I liked the electronic writing tablet we were given to take notes. This is definitely a great room for first timers because they offer you unlimited hints. We are super competitive and have done a lot of escape rooms, so we tried to do with as few hints as possible. This was a 6 person room, but we lucked out and no one booked the last four spots. They offer a 10% military discount and the parking was easy. Because we completed the room we earned a free button, and our team name made the leader board for March. The one constructive criticism I have for them is that you should only be able to officially make the leader board if you solve the room on your first try with 3 or less clues- that way the conditions are controlled and your spot on the board is legit. Someone solved the same room in 30 minutes, but I have to wonder how many times they asked for a hint read more

Loved The Condemned room. Half out group had never done an escape room before so we were alil jumpy to begin with. My group split up into two rooms, Naughty or Nice and The Condemned. It was such a great experience and Aiden was super helpful and friendly throughout the entire time. The front staff were also welcoming as well!
