We have our sunset dinner here for our annual summer vacation with friends and the Inn never…read moredisappoints. Located directly on the Pamlico Sound this is a perfect dinner spot. This year they added an outdoor tiki bar and it has great views of the sound. So, if you come early for your reservation or want to stay for a few cocktails after dinner, this is the perfect place. The main restaurant has both inside seating with AC/heat and seating that is mostly enclosed but is more like outside seating with large windows that are generally open when the weather permits....not a bad seat anywhere you sit! During the summer months they host great acoustic guitar performances that can be enjoyed along with your dinner. This is the place to go to in the Avon-Buxton-Frisco-Hatteras area for fine dining and well worth the reasonable prices. During our visit earlier this week we ordered a kids meal, Elk chops, lamb, and the filet for this in our group and everything was cooked to perfection. The Chef was helpful at making recommendations on how the Elk should be cooked and the recommendation was spot on! If you're in the OBX this summer, put the Inn on your dinner rotation---especially if looking for a more upscale experience.

The homemade breakfasts were delicious, and the complimentary snacks and drinks were a wonderful touch. The elegant dining room and the huge front porch were perfect for relaxing with family-- we even watched a storm roll in off the water, which was unforgettable. The cute gift shop had some neat history about the building too. Best of all, the beach is just a 3-minute walk away. We loved every minute and can't wait to return! Highly recommend.

We loved that Buxton had such a peaceful, laid-back vibe compared to the hustle and bustle of Kitty Hawk, and it was our first time staying here. There were so many charming shops and great places to eat nearby. The suite itself was spotless, tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed having our own kitchen and living room so we could make breakfast and sip coffee while watching the sunrise over the ocean. The pool and hot tub were wonderful too, and everything around the property was very well maintained. Lighthouse View was the perfect choice for a relaxing, romantic getaway. We're already planning to come back again!

The room was very very clean and the bed was comfortable. Although the balconies are not private they still offer a sense of privacy with beautiful views. All rooms have nice Adirondack chairs and tables not the uncomfortable cheap plastic stuff like some other places. Check in and check out was incredibly easy. Swimming pool was nice and clean and so was the hot tub. Has vending machine and ice,and a grill. Although hotel is not wheel chair friendly. We are definitely looking forward to coming back later in the year and bring the whole family. The beach was beautiful and clean. And nice restaurants and stores in walking distance . Very wonderful place for couples or the whole family!!

I had the stuffed flounder with green beans and loaded potato. Huge plate. Definitely shareable but my hubs doesn't do seafood. He had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with a side of loaded fries. For dessert he ordered a blueberry cobbler. He liked it but it was a pass for me. Very strong almost fake blueberry flavor. We also ordered a spicy margarita and hurricane. Total was $110 plus tip. Server was great. Inside has great air conditioning or sit outside in the shady lean-to.
