The place itself felt a bit worn down--the rooms weren't very clean, and some props seemed broken or not working as they should. For the price, I expected it to be in better shape, especially since it's not a brand-new location. I also think the one-hour time limit feels a little short; an extra 10-15 minutes would make the experience more enjoyable without feeling rushed. The staff member at the front desk was friendly, but he had trouble with my card and ended up having to enter it manually, which was a little inconvenient. Overall, not terrible, but definitely room for improvement--both in terms of upkeep and value for the price.

What a fun time! Myself and 3 others spent our Saturday…read morenight trying to escape the crystal cave mission in concord's BEST escape room. Everything was so high tech and there were no locks and keys we had to keep track of, which is my biggest downfall when competing a room. Everything was entered via iPads on the walls. There was so much detail in the room, which really made the experience great. You could tell a lot of thought and effort went into every aspect of the room. The owner (I think) answered all of our questions and gave us every clue we needed to make it through, without ruining the game. He also took some time after to tell us about how they created the room. Such an awesome time, I would highly recommend! Can't wait to try the next room!

Plenty of parking, right off Highway 49 near the Robinson Church Rd intersection. Decor is clean and well-thought out. There is currently one room, with two more in the works. Theme was great for both the experienced kids and the first-timers. They received just enough help to get out of the puzzle with 2 minutes to spare. Me and my Family played Dracula's Tomb and it was absolutely excellent. From the puzzle flow to the ambience of the room, it was absolutely stellar. Although I haven't tried laser tag, I did attempt the grid. It's very much similar to activate except it has 30 rooms with each containing a different point value & different objectives. The goal is for the team containing 2-5 people to reach 1,000 points. The first time I went with my group, we only got 175. It's totally okay for that to happen, I'd highly suggest going with 3-5 players at least for some of the rooms you encounter, but I'm sure if there is only two they compromise for it. Overall is a fun experience, and it is highly suggested that you wear comfortable clothes and some closed toe shoes. This is due to the fact that some of the rooms deal with mental, physical, skill, or a bit of it all. You are being timed from 30, 60, or 90 minutes. I would highly suggest the 90 minute one to ensure you have a chance to visit 85-90% of the rooms. They have hand sanitizers located on some of the walls outside the room as well! Really funny experience! They also have a concession stand as well.

Escapology Escape Rooms Charlotte has some strong points. The room themes are well-designed,…read moreimmersive, and visually interesting. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short compared to many other escape rooms we have played. My group has completed every escape room in Charlotte, along with numerous rooms in other states and several overseas, so we have a broad basis for comparison. One of the biggest issues was the size of the rooms. They felt cramped and crowded, and while the advertised capacity may be higher, the rooms seem best suited for two to four players at most. The puzzles were also frustrating at times. Many of the clues felt overly convoluted, and the room lacked a clear sense of progression. Rather than flowing naturally from one puzzle to the next, the challenges often felt disconnected and lacked cohesion. The game management also impacted our experience. We were told that the game masters were monitoring multiple rooms simultaneously, which appeared to contribute to delays. At one point, we successfully completed a piano-based puzzle multiple times, but nothing happened. After repeating it several times, a game master finally noticed and advanced the puzzle. Situations like this can be particularly frustrating when time is limited. Overall, Escapology Charlotte offers attractive themes and creative room designs, but the small room sizes, inconsistent puzzle flow, and game-master oversight issues detracted from the experience. With some refinements, it could be a much stronger escape room destination.
