The service is very good with the wait staff very attentive. My wife raved about the grilled seafood platter. This place should be on the list if you are in Cadeques.

We wandered aimlessly through the old cobblestone neighborhoods of Cadaqués looking for the…read morerestaurant that was recommended to us and finally got back to the waterfront grumpy and hungry. Using the tried and true "What spot has the most diners" criteria we ended up in Restaurant Sa Gambina. We started with some Cadaqués oysters on the half-shell (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/C5Jf8T7vkSGxxbRsXK59ZA?select=aNwId7yspOVeu8o22cCFwA). A lemon wedge was provided with no other sauces. They tasted fresh and briney. Arroz Negro (paella with squid ink) was our entree (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/C5Jf8T7vkSGxxbRsXK59ZA?select=zYuKnNr0QuGVh6N2l1GtzA) and was chock full of nicely cooked seafood. It was one of the few paellas we had in Spain with a nice socarrat (the carmelized crusty rice on the bottom of the paella pan). Food was very good. Service was rather indifferent. I saw that Trip Advisor reviews rip this place. Most of the reviews are from after we were there so maybe we got lucky, it's gone downhill, or we have no taste for Spanish food.

There are few times in life that a meal is so expertly crafted and planned that is nothing short of…read moreperfect - but not this meal. The earliest reservations a few days out was at 10-10:15pm. By the time we arrived for our dinner, the kitchen was out of all the top dishes (croquettes, sea bass, etc.). 5 minutes and halfway through our olive dish, the server removed our olives before we could even finish. Then, she brought water glasses ten minutes later. We started with the anchovies on toast with tomato. This could have been a fantastic dish if served similarly to pan con tomate. Instead, the anchovies was topped with two slices of tomatoes and a flavorless, butter-like sauce. I'll be generous and give it a 2.5/5. Next came the prawn carpaccio in place of the squid croquettes. Like the anchovies with toast, the flavor fell flat. It was cold, tasteless and overall displeasing. The two whole shrimps and toasts as toppings were the only enjoyable components of this dish. We moved on from the appetizer fiasco to a squid ink paella. Yet again, the pieces of shrimp, fried calamari and cuttlefish topping the paella were the dish's best features. The rice flavor was much too overpowering of fish, as if the chef had slipped with a bottle of fish sauce and could not correct his generous dousing. Finally, we reached the Creama catalanya. Though not a dessert person, this dish saved the whole show. For future customers that dare book a reservation, skip the fuss and go straight for dessert. Service and show gets a 4.5/5... but the Creama Catalanya only gained a half of a point for this restaurant in regards to taste.

They are very creative and always thrive for excellence. Make sure to call ahead for reservation. They master the art of fish cooking. I love their Cod / bacalla Gambas and desserts. This guy can't do no wrong I love that when we go there, there is always a friend having dinner as well. This is bc the quality of their food but also for the very nice atmosphere and scenario in an stone wallled ancient oil storage facility.

New number 972 606 979/638 151 553 Hours of operation : Lunch 1pm - 4pm Dinner 8pm-11pm Wednesday closed all day Tues open for lunch only. Came by this place since it was close to where I was at that time.. There seems to be so many good seafood restaurants in this town. I've been to different restaurant in Barcelona with similar style. But this place preps the dish different style and full service.. The restaurant was very clean, stylish and friendly staff. You pick the seafood, they weight it front of you and cost to cook the style you want. I ordered 2 fresh oysters. Lady helping us said it was her favorite kind/imported from France. $5 a pop so ordered 2 only . Ordered sea urchin, baby clams cooked with garlic and parsley. Also ordered the lagosta arrossos caldosos style.. I was told it was like paella but more soup style.. Only thing I was not happy with was that they had to split it and make it into 2 order which ended up costing 80 euro. But I was in a splurging mood so I decided to go for it. Also ordered fried calamari. So for starter bread.. Seems all the bread main in Spain is yummy. Ordered beer and water... First came oysters and sea urchin.. Oyster was definitely good.. Nice plump size and fresh. Sea urchin was different than one I'm used to. Smaller size but more sweet and less irony. Fried calamari was also yummy. Nice tender and the breading was just right. Baby clam also fresh clean and full of flavor. Now the main dish.. It came in a bit bowl and it reminded me of gumbo. I was bit disappointed to see that it basically had double amount of all dente rice. So one lagosta split in half double amount of rice for 80 euros. This could have been made one serving for 40 euro but that was not an option. But over all it was good. First time having lagosta (weird looking lobster). I think I would have preferred prepared it grilled. Now to dessert.. Order tiramisu and xuixo de girona (was told Girona dessert). Tiramisu in a little cup.. Omg.. I have to say this was one of the best tiramisu I've ever eaten.. Soooo melt in your mouth, I'm in heaven dessert. The other one looked like fried egg roll sprinkled with sugar. Inside was cream I'm told. That was also yummy.. Nice crispy outside and inside was warm, sweet, and bread pudding texture.. That was also yummy. Over all it was good experience and food was yummy.. I would definitely come back here again.

We got 2 uni (sea urchin) which was like 8 euros and both tasted different, scallop, seafood risotto soup, octopus and oyster. Everything we had was delicious. The seafood all tasted fresh and would come back here again if I ever find myself back in the beauty town of Girona.
