Very good service, cheap, food was very high quality. Definitely recommended. The decor is very good and the staff were very good.

So the town is pretty grim and the Dali museum a disappointment, but I'd make a trip to this restaurant even if it were in the middle of nowhere. Solid food, very inexpensive, decent service, perfectly good ambience. We had the ten euro menu and ate excellently. The formule menu is only on Catalan, but the waitress translated it into possible French and English... The good was actually pretty imaginative, especially the little sandwiches from the base. Well prepared dishes. Great desserts. Get a bottle of cider!

Great food, fresh and I surely recommend the Guacamole Experience! Friendly staff as well. Do brush up on your Catalonian. You're going to need it! :)

This place's Mojitos were so amazing we went back twice after trying 4 other places through out the town. Adding the impeccable service and attention it's no wonder it's rated so highly on trip advisor. We started the adventure with the highly acclaimed (wife was raving about it ) Pataes braves, which was also the best we had in the town. We paired this with a mushroom croquettes. A purebred mushroom blend in a batter and fried shell. She chose the battered calamari strips And I got the half grilled octopus. Both were delightful and satiating after the long day of travel. The real majesty was in the drinks, although slow to make they are a hand made treasure. We simply had to sample every last one. She started with the mango and I the original then we moved on to the strawberry and Cactus. We finished with their peach. Every single one was art with an appreciable alcohol content. The mojitos in our area are terrible at best it's seems I will have to get into the books to recreate this places masterpieces at home.

    Delicious!

We had the octopus which was perfectly cooked and tender, salmon (also perfectly cooked), a few tapas and a burger.

The service was excellent and the food was brilliant. We were also quite surprised at how…read morereasonable the prices were, given that this café is in a popular location of a tourist town, serving huge portions of delicious, gourmet food. Everything we ordered was 5 times larger than we expected, yet made with dedicated care and attention to flavours and ingredients. I could hardly finish my entrée, let alone the main course! And yet it was all so tasty it nearly made me cry not to eat it. This place is great and I highly recommend it.

Cafe de la paix is an institution in Perpignan but I only tried the food for the first time…read morerecently. I was there as part of a birthday party on a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed. There were other groups as well and people kept coming in and asking for a table until about 11! The menu offers a large choice of starters, pasta, pizzas and mains such as meat, fish and skewers. I opted for a salmon and scallops skewer. Considering it was a busy night and we were a group, I would say the food arrived quickly and the 14 of us were able to start eating altogether without waiting too long for everyone's food to arrive. My skewer was served with a side of linguini and vegetable julienne. I was not enthused by either of them, especially compared with the deliciously creamy gratin dauphinois that accompanied the duck magret on the plate opposite me! That said, the salmon was perfectly cooked and the scallops were just right as well, a little on the underdone side. For dessert, we all had the birthday cake which was an Opera: a thin layer of sponge cake with crispy praline and chocolate mousse on top. The cake was fabulous but the slices we got were double or three times the serving we would have eaten had we cut it ourselves. Most of us could not finish it... So beware, keep space for dessert! The service was friendly but a tiny bit rude sometimes. For a busy night this can be understandable though, but not excused so that's 4 stars for Cafe de la Paix!

Our 8pm arrival sans reservation was lucky, as the outside dining area filled up within 15 minutes of our seating. SERVICE: 5.0. The waitress was a hearty and considerate extrovert. Her recommendation was spot on. Her description of why the food tasted so fresh (never previously-frozen, fish caught that day) was credible. The gentleman who took our payment was amiable; we left happy. AMBIANCE: 4.0. Outside dining area has tight seating, but was very pleasant on a that warm September night. FOOD: 5.0. Apparently they don't eat the head and bones here, but we ate the entire fish the Japanese way, including the head and bones (as my wife taught me). - 5.0: HARICOTS VERTS (green bean) with Hazelnuts salad. - 4.0: ROASTED PORK SLICES. - 5.0: ARROZ NEGRE - 4.5: SALAMOREJO - 4.5: STRAWBERRY w/RICE (dessert) The glasses of rosé and red wine were decent.
