The steak sandwiches are tasty and a great size (I had to cut mine and save 1/2 for later whereas my husband finished his) and the fries are a perfect combo of crunchy and soft in the center. I don't know who these people are that have liked this place. I guess it's fine for a sandwich, but it is a far cry from a Philly cheesesteak. The bread was way too soft and mine was definitely not piled high with steak. I got the garlic fries, which were fine, but they also got a little soggy. If I'm gonna have a cheesesteak, I'm going to continue to go Philly ya belly - they were much better in terms of what you got for your money and bread. Not only did I not know we had this place in my area of Washington, but I decided to give it try because I love philly cheese. Honestly, we hadn't heard of Erwin's until finding it on Yelp. We ordered based on the reviews, and they're well deserved. We each ordered a variation of the cheesesteak- I had the mushroom onion pepper cheesesteak, and an order of garlic fries. It took us 20 minutes to get home, and the food was *still* hot and delicious. The sandwich was well prepared and tasty. There was a nice amount of meat, and just the right ratio of veggies to meat. The veggies were cooked perfectly, and weren't soggy. The garlic fries were cooked to a perfect crunch- not soggy, and not over cooked. I thought that they were going to get soggy with all the cheese on them but they stayed crisp. The roll that the shear steak comes on is super soft, but it holds up perfectly. If I could only have one food for the rest of my life, it would be cheesesteaks. That said, I probably wouldn't return to this restaurant. The owner was super nice and I received my food quickly. However, I just wasn't very impressed with the food. The bread was not great, it was not ideal for a cheesesteak. It's the same as you'd get with a Costco hot dog instead of a kick ass cheesesteak. I never write reviews, but this place is worth it. Friendly service and good food. I was completely impressed. They were celebrating their third anniversary and giving away free cake slices to each customer when I stopped in. More than that, it was clear the owner sprung for a high quality cake as a thank you to his customers. They also set up a fun prize wheel to spin, and I got a bag of free chips. Not much, but it was fun, and what a neat idea! Even with just a sandwich and fries, I ended up with so much food I still haven't touched the chips. I demolished that cake, though. As for food, I'm picky as hell, but this place met my high hopes. The garlic fries were pretty heavy on the garlic (but still delicious), and the meat was just a little bit too salty (though I ordered extra, so that's probably my fault). Those are trifling issues from someone who always finds something to criticize. The ingredients were high quality and delicious, the food well prepared, the bread soft and well portioned. Even the cheese sauce was the perfect flavor and consistency for drenching the fries. It's not fancy, but it's exactly what it should be. The owner clearly loves his shop and his customers, and it was a joy to support this business. I will be going back regularly. read more

We went at around 7pm on a Thursday and had a little trouble finding the place. Regardless of what the street address is, the restaurant is actually in a little strip mall that faces 41st st. Was it worth the trouble? Absolutely. My date and I got a plain cheesesteak and cheese fries to share. The sandwich was very big and quite tasty. The meat was tender and flavorful and the bread was soft and nicely chewy. The cheese fries were ok, but I think if they put a bit more effort into them they could be great. Like maybe add some crumbled bacon and green onions. The drink selection was expansive including several varieties of soda in glass bottles. To sum up: I will definitely be back, and if you're looking for a taste of Philly in Snohomish county, I highly recommend Erwin's. read more

Went to Erwin's for the first time tonight and man, that stuff is good. The food was HOT (like really hot - be careful) and came out quickly. The guy at the counter was very nice and recommended several of the favorites. Some tips: The "Cheese Wiz" on the menu is kind of awful. It's 100% NOT Cheese Whiz brand and has no flavor at all; it was actually kind of plastic-y gross. Erwin's is next door to an adult DVD shop -- just a heads up in case that's too pervy for you. I thought it was disgusting. The garlic cheese fries were drenched in cheese sauce. I thought used actually cheddar cheese because there menu says cheddar cheese not cheese sauce. It was like having cheese sauce soup with garlic and fries. Then my philly was more onions then meat and tastes horrible. Not recommending or going there again.
