Dave's Auto Care & Towing

I discovered a nail in one of my tires and needed it checked out quickly. I reached out to Dave's…read morebecause of the great reviews--and because it's super close by--and I'm so glad I did. The owner was incredibly responsive, even on a Sunday. I needed an appointment ASAP, and he worked me into his already busy Monday, keeping me updated while he was out on a towing job.He patched my tire in under 10 minutes and charged me well below typical prices. I've officially found my go‑to "car guy." Excellent communication, honest work, reliable service, and very affordable pricing. Highly recommend!

He was at our spot with a tow truck in about 30 mins and called us an hour or so later to inform me of what was wrong. He laid out the options. Was very transparent and gave us a rough timeline. While he had the car he sent updates on when he ordered parts, when they arrived at the shop and how far along he was with the work. This was critical for me as I had to drive back to Chicago in a rental and needed to coordinate when I'd make the drive back to Cincy to pick up my car. The car is like new. I felt a little nervous driving it back right after getting the work done but it performed great on the road and I made it back to Chicago with no issues. I wish he was based in Chicago so I could take the car to him with any future issues. Hopefully we never get stranded in Cincy again, but if we do I find some peace in knowing we have someone great to take it to.

Both the owner & I ( while on the phone) checked the mileage for the quote. The guy shows up and tells me to drive my van to the tow yard because it's tall on the tow truck and there are low bridges. I was hesitant and he was insistent. He is so insistent he gets into my truck to start it to confirm I can drive it - thus making his job easier. (I called a tow truck because I was worried about damage if I continued to drive the van). I did not want to drive this van. He says it's six blocks and is insisting. I say I will follow him and off he goes to 471. Well I know that's not going to be six blocks so I u- turn. He ends up coming back and towing it. The price jumps to $240 and they tell me the tow must've been more miles- total BS, we checked that together before I agreed to the tow. They charged me more because I wanted a tow from that location rather than driving to the tow yard. Then the van which was supposed to be dropped off on Monday day does not make it to my repair guy until Tuesday night or Wednesday. The final ridiculous development occurred when Fender could not reach me for a couple hours ( I was working) and AMAZINGLY Fender called my mechanic and had the nerve to ask them to pay my tow! Are you kidding me?!? Why didn't they call my mom too!?!? This company has no sense of professionalism. This is some kinda bootleg, backwoods, operation. Dont use these people. Their bread is buttered by picking up your illegally parked car for the city of Newport and private property owners. They have no interest in helping average people by proving quality service. Avoid them.

Review preview: if you get your car towed, you want to be towed by these guys…read more So, who likes going to the impound lot? Well, not me! Who reviews an impound lot? Apparently, me! I just wanted to give a little shout out to Jess'n'sons: I was actually helping a friend out of town on vacation after their car was towed from the street. The situation was pretty lame: there was 24 hours 'no parking' notice for a public service, our friends were out of town already - and, as most impound lots are - there's a daily charge once your towed. We arrived to pick up the car, and it was a little difficult to find the office at first, but once I found it, the staff was friendly. They were kind amidst the frustrating circumstance, and even knocked a little off the bill of keeping the car because of the situation. Cool. So, again - if you're going to be impounded for a silly ticket, these are your guys.

Well, having my car towed is not awesome, but two thumbs up to Jess N Sons anyway. They kindly left…read moreoff an additional charge (I think because I picked it up so quickly), essentially discounting my tow, and the gentleman who showed me to my car reminded me to pay my ticket within a week so it wouldn't double, which frankly, was super helpful because a week goes by fast. And there's a cute cat in the lot, albeit not willing to come when called. So whatever, not a great Monday morning, but at least we have a fine towing establishment in the area.

Well jokes on us cause the extra money should have been spent on the towing because now, who knows how much will actually be spent to fix the car now. not only was the car returned ransacked on the inside but the hood latch was broken as well which was not like that when the car was left but add on top of it all that this "business" went missing with the car for HOURS!!! cops had to be called and police reports filed!! only to finally have these "business owner" Gary call screaming to stop sending the cops! Sorry but you STOLE a car!!! never will I recommend this FRAUD! save yourself the trouble and go with the better more expensive options I know I will be in the future!

Absolute worst experience I've ever had with a so called "business". I am a single mother of five…read morechildren and had all five in my car on the way to a baseball tournament 30 miles away from home. Gary was referred to me as he provides cheap towing. That is accurate. I jumped on the opportunity to get my car towed 30 mils away for only $150. You certainly get what you pay for as that small towing fee will cost me more in the long run due to him further damaging my vehicle. He was very inconsistent with responses and failed to EVER provide updates or an ETA on when my vehicle would be returned to my home address as promised. Five and a half hours after the tow was confirmed he owner/Gary become unresponsive leaving me completely in the dark. A police report was filed and once Gary realized police entered his property he called me screaming asking me to "call off the guard dogs" and "stop sending people to his house". What do you expect when the customers car goes MIA for a 12 hour period? He brought my vehicle back only to find out the inside had been ransacked and the lever to pop the hood has been broken. I will update again once the hood is able to opened as to what was taken under neath. Needless to say, spend the extra couple hundred dollars and save yourself the trouble of dealing with this extremely unprofessional "business" owner. I would also like to add I only added one star because yelp required that. If I could go negative I absolutely would.
