But all our married friends told us we were wrong and needed one. Now, we understand and are so happy to have hired Erin. Our wedding was super DIY and everything would not have come together so wonderfully without her. Erin juggled countless roles working 11.5 hours the day of the wedding to make sure everything went perfectly. She set-up our entire ceremony and reception space. For example, we handed her a pile of glass bottles and grocery stores flowers along with a rough sketch of what we wanted, and she turned that into these stunning centerpieces. She also coordinated with our various vendors throughout the day -- making sure they arrived on time and had everything they needed. During the wedding itself, Erin was toiling away behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly. She queued our ceremony music, directed guests during dinner, coordinated clean-up, and so much more. Erin has a great work process for making sure she has all the detail she needs the day of the wedding. All of that planning and organization enabled us to relax and just enjoy our wedding day knowing she had it handled. I hesitated to write this review because on the whole Erin worked very hard on my daughter's wedding. My initial assessment was that she was doing a great job. And much of what she did do was terrific and impressive. She's very organized and very energetic. I have concerns about recommending her however. She had some erratic behavior during the wedding as well as a weird inflexibility to adjust schedules or alter plans as it became clear they weren't working. The best examples: At one point I came up behind her during the dinner and touched her arm to get her attention. She spun around and yelled 'don't touch me'. This wasn't a #metoo moment. This was one woman lightly touching another woman on the shoulder. It was beyond an inappropriate response. It was abnormal. The ceremony and dinner went much more quickly than we had planned. People were done eating and at 8:00 they were just sitting, the party was losing energy with just quiet DJ music. Time for our band to start. I asked her to have them come out and start playing. She refused. Her stated reason being that 'the schedule' had them for 8:30. She claimed that the musicians were eating. I went and found them sitting and doing nothing, they were happy to play. (Even declining offered extra pay for the additional 30 minutes) Erin was clearly irate, whether at the usurpation of her authority or because she couldn't handle a change, I don't know but again, odd behavior and certainly not in the best interests of a fun wedding celebration. A third example. The ceremony took place outdoors facing a beautiful pond and garden. At the walkthrough the evening before, it became clear that the spot that had been selected months before and which Erin had marked out on the grass would result in the guests staring directly into the sun. It seemed obvious and a no-brainer that we wouldn't want to have people squinting and uncomfortable. I expected her to say 'oh no, you're right, let's figure this out'. Instead she just kept repeating 'this is what was planned, this is what was planned, it can't be changed, it can't be changed.' This was an especially ridiculous response in that the situation was easily remedied with only a slight movement of location and angle. I was fairly shocked that her immediate response was not one of problem solving, but rather intractability and irritation. I offer my experience with her as I saw it. I want to be completely fair because she did work very hard and overall did a very good job. She is clearly very competent but I did see things that were troubling. read more

Erin made our wedding happen. She is the best! Talented, wonderful, and professional. Having her to discuss plans with in the days leading up to the wedding was hugely relieving because she always had a clever yet simple solution to any complications. Along with being organized and professional, she is creative with a wonderful eye for design. She really is a complete natural for wedding coordination and set up. For our wedding she juggled setting up two different large venues over the course of the day for 180 people. She managed the set up for a hindu priest, food, flower decorations, chairs, staging, guests, and then she did it all again for our reception venue. She even fixed our photo booth, which should have been the photographer's responsibility. Erin has also helped us get our place organized, which was badly needed. We worked with Erin as our day-of wedding coordinator, she was absolutely wonderful and we are so happy to have had her as part of our recent wedding! After our first phone call with her we knew it was a great fit- she was extremely organized, clear, upbeat and friendly, and her hourly pricing was very reasonable and useful for us to be able to control our budget. I appreciated how she gave us organizational tools to use for the wedding planning and let us take care of whatever we wanted ourselves, but was always there for support and to help with what we needed. We also had a very productive on-site visit with her at the venue a few months before the wedding. She had a great rapport with all of our vendors and was friendly with them before the wedding to make sure everyone was on the same page. The most important thing to me was that the wedding day run smoothly without any hiccups so that our guests could have a great time- and Erin totally accomplished this! As the bride I didn't have to think about ANYTHING besides having a good time on our wedding day which was such a huge stress relief. She took care of anything that popped up and needed attention, helped set up the venue which looked beautiful, and helped pack everything up at the end of the night. Hiring Erin as my wedding day of coordinator SAVED MY LIFE. I originally only hired Erin to help with some light, day of coordination as I expect everything to be done the day before. Due to multiple complications (as expected with all events), my set up schedule got delayed and I wasn't able to finish setting up the day of. I called Erin to ask for extra time of hers the next day and she was so flexible and willing to be there for me. On the day of, she arrived at the venue and facetimed me while I was getting my hair and make up done. It was so comforting to know that someone capable is handling things on your behalf when you have a million other things to worry about. Erin is on point, smart, organized, and experienced, she knows how to get things done without being in your face, and knows to ask for the appropriate amount of direction so she can take charge. She's not afraid of making sensible executive decisions, and is just SO willing to work on your behalf. I honestly wouldn't have been able to do it (pull the wedding all together) without her!! Erin did a fantastic job managing our wedding. If I could give her ten stars, I would. I interviewed almost a dozen day-of-coordinators before I found Erin. She stood out from the rest because she didn't seem wedding-crazed-- she just seemed like a really nice, organized, honest person. She was super clear and upfront about her billing, which I really appreciated, and didn't try to upsell me or convince me that our wedding really needed xyz. She met us exactly where we were and took us at our word when we told her what we were looking for and what we wanted out of our day, which we both found so refreshing. She gently pointed out things we needed to address and plan for, and was just generally super fun and pleasant to work with. I honestly don't know how our wedding would have happened without Erin. We worked with Erin as our day of coordinator but she did much more than just the day of. From the moment we first met with Erin we felt comfortable and confident in her ability to help has have the type of wedding we wanted. She has a calming and friendly personality. You can tell that she sees wedding planning and coordination and a fun adventure and truly enjoys working with her clients. Our wedding involved a complex coordination of 10+ vendors with a hands off venue and no catering company (we used food trucks). She was so fun to work with and had many great suggestions for what to do (and what not to do) when it came to the day-of timeline, wedding decor, event rentals, and so on. My husband and I got married in Seattle in August 2014 (long overdue review!) and were lucky enough to snap up Erin as our day-of coordinator before she moved back to the East Coast! We knew our wedding was going to be fairly small and pretty laid-back, and I was determined to do all of the planning and organizing myself. Well, a couple of months into planning, I started getting really worried about the logistics of the day-of. How would we get all of the string lights hung up at our venue? Who would transport the flowers? What about chairs? What have I gotten myself into?!? That's where Erin came into the picture. She was referred to us by a friend, and I'm so happy we found her! While we officially hired her as our day-of coordinator, she was much more. She helped me with countless details, e.g. how many candles to order, what types of flowers to buy, etc. This stuff all seemed simple at first, but the sheer number of decisions you have to make as you plan a wedding becomes overwhelming as you get closer to the big day. In the months leading up to our wedding, she even offered to store our decorations and supplies at her place because the growing piles in our living room were stressing us out! A couple of weeks before the wedding, we were able to completely hand off all communication with our vendors to Erin, which was a huge relief. I had a little girls' getaway with my friends right before the wedding, and I was able to completely enjoy that precious time with friends who I don't get to see very often because I knew Erin would take care of everything. The wedding day itself went completely smoothly (which I still can't believe) because I didn't have to worry about anything. Erin was a godsend for our wedding party a few weeks ago. I cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone out there looking for help with a wedding or other big party. We hired Erin for full day-off coordinating plus advice and help with paperwork and organization in the months leading up and I think hiring her was the best decision we made through the course of our planning. I had a very particular vision for the wedding which also had the challenges of many moving parts (two caterers, multiple rental companies, no florist to help with decoration set up, etc.) and tight budget constraints. But the wedding came together better than we could have imagined, in large part due to Erin's tremendous organizational skills, sage advice and calm under pressure. The two areas where I think Erin most excelled were: 1) Organization and detail orientation - she put together a google doc form for us to use throughout the course of the planning and reviewed periodically to make sure we were on track and not forgetting things. This form was invaluable in orchestrating our timeline, making sure all vendors were aware of their roles and responsibility and making sure that no details slipped through the cracks. On the day-of, she was on top of every detail so we could just relax and enjoy the day! 2) Being kind, encouraging and generally a joy to work with - Erin's demeanor and personality really helped alleviate stress leading up to the wedding and on the day itself. She was so positive and gracious that calls, meetings and logistical coordination felt fun rather than like chores. It was like having one of your closest, most trusted friends helping you, if that friend were also super professional, non-judgmental and very experienced with the wedding industry. I also appreciated Erin's hourly fee as we could tailor how much of her time we used as we got closer to the wedding and had a better idea of what we could do ourselves and what we needed help with. Her rate ended up being very reasonable (less than other "all included" quotes we got) and every dollar we allocated to her services feels very well spent. When I moved into my new place I left behind a basement storage unit and I was completely at a loss for how to fit everything that I once had in storage into my new room. I contacted Erin in sheer panicked desperation because my Aunt was coming over I wanted her to see my place and see the room of a young adult and not a tornado. I had called two other people, seemed like they could help one lady even said to have an honest talk with my aunt about the mess and to hide as much as I could. Soon after our engagement, our wedding plans changed rather drastically after receiving news that my fiancé would deploy within a matter of months.
