I had purchased a jeep many years ago from another Jeep dealer in town and had a miserable experience, so we went to Rubitrux. They are PHENOMENAL! All the guys are knowledgeable and helpful, but I especially love Clinton. He sold us a Gladiator Mohave that had 4000 miles on it for a very reasonable price. Great vehicle with 35" soft rock climbing tires. I bought a second set and had them studded for winter. He found me a used set of wheels for $400! We have a very large dog that goes everywhere with me, and the rear seat wasn't the safest for him. Clinton had 2/3 of the back seat removed and replaced with a locking goose gear. It eliminates the "leg room" space in back which is dangerous for the dog in an accident. Now I have a place in the car to really secure a firearm if I need to, and it's flat - perfect for a dog bed. The original owner tinted the windows really dark. I didn't notice it until the first time I tried to make a turn in the dark - couldn't see anything out the side windows. I took it back and the first guy who looked at it thought it would have to go back to the tinting shop. But one of their mechanics gave it a try and had the tinting off in 20 minutes. I've had the truck for about 2 years and other than modifications, oil changes and inspections, I haven't had to do anything to it. When I've taken it in for routine service, they've always given me a loaner. Even when they are crazy busy, Clinton works me in around my schedule. I spend most of the time alone in the mountains, and I'm 100% confident they will take care of my truck without taking advantage of my lack of car knowledge. They know Jeeps. Great guys, great company!

This year we stayed in Beech Mountain which is 45 mins from Boone. This trip had taken a turn on Saturday... my husbands new truck (purchased 4 months ago) started acting up on a mountain while we were returning to our cabin on Beech Mountain from downtown Boone (not wanting to accelerate or go into any of the higher gears). We had my 2 year old son in the truck who was sick and we were just trying to get back to our cabin. My husband pulled over and found Team Chevrolet and we started in that direction (approx 20 mins away just praying we would make it) Once we arrived at Team Chevrolet my husband met two of the most helpful individuals we have ever met! Justin and Albert were in the service office when my husband entered and after taking a moment to listen to the situation we were in (pretty much stranded with a sick child not even being able to make it back to our condo) these two guys immediately started helping us. Albert came and jumped in the truck and drove us around diagnosing the problem just in that short 10 min ride ( the transmission was ruined)! Tears came to my eyes at that moment not knowing what we would be facing after the phone call with the dealership back home provided no reassurance. Albert assured us that we would be taken care of! Once back at Team Chevrolet Justin met with us and Albert and immediately got to work on the warranty portion of the situation. Please keep in mind that the dealership is not normally open on Saturdays for new service so these gentlemen went above and beyond to help my family! Albert assured us he would have a new transmission installed by Monday at 1! Justin drove my husband around town looking for a UHAUL after calling for an enterprise rental for hours and not receiving an answer! On Monday we went back to pick up my husbands truck! When I tell you we are beyond gratefully it's an understatement! Justin had worked with GM and handled every step. Albert had replaced the transmission and re geared the truck! We were able to leave Boone on Monday afternoon only 2 days after the issue arose because of the amazing service we received at Team Chevrolet of Boone! I will drive four hours one way to purchase a vehicle from these amazing people and would recommend this dealership to everyone who will listen!

I…read moretried to get it fixed at the dealership here in Raleigh where I get all my work done, but there was no availability that lined up with her breaks. The estimate provided for the work was about $899.00. I contacted Elevation in the beginning of October and was able to get an appointment for the work to be done on 10/30. The vehicle was brought in first thing that morning and my daughter was told the work would be completed by the following day at the latest. I called the dealership on the morning of 10/31 and the person I spoke to didn't seem to have any knowledge of the work being performed, and once he got some more info, he told me it was "unthinkable" that the work could be performed in such a short timeframe but that he would check with the shop. I got a call later that same day telling me that the vehicle was being worked on and would be ready at the end of the day. However, I then received an immediate call back telling me that they had ordered the wrong part and that they would need to reschedule the service. I was told that they would call me once they had the part and then get the vehicle back in "immediately" to have the service completed. On 11/4, I got the call saying the part was in. When I asked when my daughter could bring the vehicle in, they said that their next appointment was not until mid-December. I expressed some frustration with this given the previous issue and need to reschedule due solely to their ordering the wrong part, and was then told that my daughter could bring the vehicle in on 11/12. The car was again there at the appointed time, but neither myself or my daughter received any type of update for the next two days. I finally called the shop around noon on 11/14 and spoke to the manager, who assured me that they could see the car in the shop being worked on, that the work should take "no more than four hours", and that it should be ready by the following morning at the latest. I did not receive an update that day, so I called again on the morning of 11/15 just after 9:00am. At that time, I was told that the work had not been completed as a tool they were using broke and had to be ordered, but that tool was not going to come in until 11/17. When I expressed further frustration (my daughter works two jobs in Boone and needed her car to get around at this point) and asked why I was not called the day before and informed of this issue, the representative could not give me any answer. I asked that she have the Manager contact me as I needed more information so I could decide whether I wanted the work to continue. Two hours passed and I had not been contacted, so I called and spoke to the same representative who said that the Manager was going to be calling me as soon as she was done with a customer. Another hour passed with no call, so I called again. The same representative told me that the Manager had spoken to my daughter, even though the instruction was to contact me, and that the work would be completed Monday morning. At the end of the day Monday (11/17), neither my daughter nor I had received any update. It was not until this morning that she was called and told that the work had been completed. I had told my daughter that if they contacted her to have them contact me as well, and I did receive a call from the shop. I asked for a breakdown of the charges and a total, and was told that the cost to repair was over $1400.00. When I told them that I had been quoted just over half of that amount at a Chevrolet dealership here, all the person said was "I don't know what to tell you. Not that I think it matters to anyone there, but Elevation lost a customer today. I have owned Chevrolets all my life and received nothing but top-tier service and professional care from every dealership that has ever performed work on one of my vehicles. This was the exact opposite. No communication. No consideration. Nothing. Avoid this shop if you need work done on your vehicle

So, no car and out $200 in insurance for a car we don't have. Forrest continued for 3 days to tell my husband he was trying to get him a car and then says sorry can't do it but he'd get us our refund for the insurance. Still haven't heard back. I have no problem coming here to this location, as I do another one in Charleston. The employees are courteous, kind, and quick to respond and complete service work, and they never try to up-sell me with needless stuff. Somehow, every time I go to another Nissan in SC, they try their hardest to bamboozle me and say I need to spend $400-$800 for the safety of my car (fake!) but when I come to Autostar in Boone, they are always honest and my bill is never more than $100 for service, and is usually much, much lower. When I'm sitting in the lobby, almost every employee greets me and asks whether I need help, yet doesn't try to con me into purchasing a newer vehicle. Awesome stuff that I can sit here and truly relax while waiting on my car to be serviced. This dealership is located in Boone so it's not busy as others I've been to in more urban cities, which is also another advantage. Also, the music they play is good and relaxing (eg, Mumford and Sons playing now) and not annoying, which truly affects my experience. Phew. Great job Autostar!!

Before my vehicle ever arrived, I clearly told them I believed the issue was the brake shoes and rear axle seals. That information was completely ignored. Instead, I was hit with a $2,845.86 estimate and told my rear differential was "locked up." That claim was flat-out false. They then went so far as to disassemble the car to support this fabricated rear-end failure, only to eventually admit there was absolutely nothing wrong with the rear differential at all. After tearing the vehicle apart and finding nothing, they conveniently circled back to exactly what I said from the beginning -- brake shoes and rear axle seals -- yet somehow the price came back nearly identical. Different lie. Same money. Then came the most insulting part of the entire ordeal. They claimed a job that is booked at roughly 5 hours of labor would somehow require over 9 hours. No complications. No rust. No damage. No justification whatsoever. Just made-up labor hours designed to inflate the bill. When I called them out on it, Paula and Jonathan (the manager) admitted on a recorded phone line that they were trying to overcharge me using false labor hours. That wasn't a misunderstanding. That wasn't a clerical error. That was an admission. As if that wasn't enough, the estimate also included overlapping labor charges, billing multiple times for work that happens during the same teardown -- a textbook padding tactic used to squeeze customers who don't know better. Because of their false diagnosis, unnecessary teardown, and constant rewriting of the story, my vehicle was effectively held hostage, forcing me to pay for a hotel and alternate transportation while they chased imaginary problems and inflated numbers. Every bit of that cost and stress was completely avoidable -- and entirely their fault. Here's the pattern, plain and simple: I identified the real issue before the car arrived (brake shoes and rear axle seals) They ignored it and invented a catastrophic failure They tore the car apart to justify that claim Found nothing wrong with the rear differential Fell back to my original diagnosis Kept the price nearly the same Nearly doubled the labor hours on paper Admitted on a recorded call to overcharging using false labor hours This was not incompetence. This was not miscommunication. This was deliberate, predatory behavior -- and they only backed off because they were caught, and started adjusting prices fast.
