We hired Eminent Electrical for a major and expensive project to replace our old knob-and-tube…read moresystem with a brand-new, grounded electrical system. Our top priority was the safety of our home and family as we had a less than a 1 year old at home. What we discovered post-completion was frankly terrifying, and the company's subsequent non-response is completely unacceptable. Alex completely brushed off our concerns Early in the project, we raised concerns when we discovered a cosmetic "shortcut" (a drywall patch done with toilet paper instead of proper material. they literally stuffed toilet paper in the wall then laid joint compound on top). We were personally assured by Alex that even though there were minor appearance issues, they would take absolutely no shortcuts on the actual electrical work. A few months later, while I was installing a simple light fixture, my father and I discovered an unmarked hot wire. In this switch box, a white conductor was being used as the LINE-Hot wire (constantly energized). This unmarked wire could have easily been mistaken for a neutral by anyone working in the box, which could have led to someone getting killed. When I informed Alex, he said I shouldn't be doing wiring, and admitted it should have been taped. He offered to come over and tape the wire (I already did it myself). No apology at all. It feels like they took short cuts throughout the job- if they failed to properly mark a live wire in the first box we opened, we simply cannot trust the integrity of the rest of the expensive rewiring job. When it comes to the safety of your home and family, avoid this company.

Look no further, hire Norman for whatever you need done in your home! Best work I hired Norman for…read moreseveral small jobs around the house and would absolutely hire him again. I reached out to several highly rated handymen on Yelp. Norman was the only one who asked a bunch of questions by text, asked for measurements and pictures and videos, told me to buy particular materials and measure/test them and send him pictures, etc in advance to make sure everything would work. His estimate for the work was similar to what others quoted and I appreciated his attention to detail before even arriving so I hired him for the work. With some of the parts of the job, there would have been no way for it to have been done when he was here if Norman hadn't done all this detail-oriented planning in advance. When at my home he told me what was cosmetic and what needed to be fixed to avoid damage. He told me what he wasn't comfortable doing or he didn't think needed to be done. He had creative solutions to making things work (altering a standard closet bracket from Ace hardware to fit in a closet with weird dimensions). He explained what he was doing and why and showed me how to do a few things on my own. He was open to feedback when I was a perfectionist and asked him to go back over an area he had patched/painted. An example of Norman going above and beyond: There was a small crack in the wall I had asked him to patch/paint. While other handymen would have done it and left it at that, Norman investigated to find out the cause (cracked caulk on the outside window pane) and offered to fix it. Very knowledgable, detail-oriented, skilled, and kind. Stop scrolling and bookmarking and hire Norman!

Norman is great. Quick availability and very respectable demeanor in your home. Norman quoted me…read more$450 to replace my kitchen faucet, fix a leak in my bathroom sink, and re-caulking my bathtub/shower walls. 1/3 of the jobs were fully completed (the kitchen faucet). Norman looked at the bathroom faucet and advised me to get a plumber out to fix it. He went through the work of taking out the cabinet drawer, phoned a plumber friend, but no work could be done by him. Not an issue, I understand a plumber was needed, but the project wasn't completed by him. For the shower re-caulking project, he said the existing grout was an issue so he only caulked the perimeter of the tub and didn't re-caulk the walls. Also not an issue, but the job wasn't completed as intended. Norman still charged me $450. I asked him, "still? Even with the bathroom sink not fixed and the shower not fully re-caulked?" He just looked at me and nodded his head. I paid him the $450 but I don't feel great about it. I feel like there should have been a price adjustment because I agreed to $450 under the impression all 3 projects would have been completed. Kitchen faucet looks great and no leaks. I know Norman is a professional and does solid work.
