WANT YOUR MONEY FORSURE. As far as Mr Powell he is an okay dentist. I definitely wouldn't put a 4 or 5 star review. "Hattie" is a very judgmental person, and isn't true to her word. I came in for an emergency dental visit on a Friday for a tooth/gum pain. Mr Powell told me I could have periodontal disease or something stuck in between my gum and tooth.i also had major sinus pressure on the side that hurt of my mouth. Came down to me having a kernel stuck in between my tooth/gum when I went home and flossed and did my daily hygiene properly. Was told by Hattie she would communicate with me by the end of the day with a referred "sinus doctor" whatever that means, to go to... this was Friday. Calls me back at the end of Tuesday (they are close Sat-Mon ) " very employee not patient centered" and told me not to worry we didn't forget about you WITH NO DOCTER INFO GIVEN .when in fact by then I had told her I already had taken care of the sinus infection and was seen by a doctor. So I start feeling better tooth doesn't hurt anymore I go in for my cleaning which I had to schedule myself after getting a treatment plan for my cavities but in fact no cleaning treatment was scheduled. in that plan even though Mr Powell told me what the two causes could be of my tooth/gum pain. (I TOLD THEM I HADN'T SEEN A DENTIST IN YEARS AS WELL) I called back in and was told I would be scheduled for a cleaning when I get my cavity done. So I said why are we waiting till then to schedule a cleaning if it could be infact I have something stuck in my tooth. Cleaning went well as I don't recall her name but was very nice and informative as I hadn't seen a dentist in years. Get one of my cavities done goes fine although I did have a lot of pain hours after the treatment and could barely open my mouth . And this was treatment for one cavity. I go to my next appointment for two cavities everything goes fine until I noticed a week later I have dots on the areas that cavities were done. I call in ask to get seen as I've been brushing for over a week and it still appears to be noticeable . I was seen by Powell and HE SCRAPES THE AREA OF THE TOOTH where the red dots were and asked me if I see it anymore when in fact this was his job to do! I call back when I get home and there are scratch marks all over my tooth and asked Mr Powell as I was transferred to him directly if I was supposed to get a polish because it just didn't look right. I was told there was no scratches on my tooth when how do you tell that to the person that is looking directly at there teeth. I was also told to get a lawyer by Mr Powell himself which I infact will if it comes to find out cavities were done improper or tooth damages were done and cannot be helped. Not to mention I was pretty much judge by most of the staff of my clothing brand that I am partnered with. VERY JUDGMENTAL STUCK UP PRACTICE BE VERY CAREFUL. They take advantage of a naive population. Look at the reviews on yelp. Never judge a book by its cover. I WOULD SAY AVOID THIS PRACTICE IF POSSIBLE. read more

We called on a Friday and, even though we had never been in before, they were able to get my husband in the same day. I was very pleased with that aspect and also how friendly the staff and dentist were. The office is also very nice and comfortable! What I was not so pleased with were the results of what my husband had done. We were told that what was being done should be good for a few months to hold him over for a root canal that he needs done. This was not the case. On Sunday evening the tooth they had worked on, Cracked again. After paying almost $200 out of pocket, needless to say, we were not very happy. We wont be visiting this dentist again. read more

I have known Dr. Powell for over 10 years, he is our family's personal dentist, he is a great dentist, and these accusations are completely false, but typical of the left. While Dr Powell seems to be a nice man his staff is not...or was not. Many years ago I bought a crown from them. After experiencing one of his staff members absolute rude behavior I decided not to ever go back there again. I called to purchase my crown from him that I had already paid for and they would not let me. Not only would they not let me have my crown that I had already paid for they would not reimburse me. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Powell and his staff. I started seeing Dr. Powell about 10 years ago. I always had anxiety with going to the dentist, but the staff at this office always put me at ease. After moving to Yakima, I was very hesitant about going to a new dentist, but decided I should give it a shot to save myself an hour and a half drive. Boy was I wrong! After seeing a new dentist for three months, I called Dr. Powell's office to schedule a second opinion on my new dental treatment plan. Not only did he save me over $1,400 in out of pocket charges, he saved my healthy teeth from unnecessary treatment. Even from Yakima, going to Dr. Powell's office is well worth the drive! I needed to find new dentist, chose Dr. Powell because he took over for Dr. Christopherson, who I had seen for over twenty years. I was extremely disappointed. I was overcharged my co-pay, still fighting to get refund. The filling that apparently was needed to fix toothache, but two days later, same toothache. I went back in and my insurance was charged again, for them to tell me that when they did filling it cracked tooth and I now needed a $1200. crown, along with a new list of dental work that I needed. This was a month ago, and I am still trying to get overpayment refund. I have no intention of going back for any further dental work and definitely do not recommend to anyone. Even my little children do great there, because everyone caters to their happiness and comfort! At my cleaning appointment we discussed further work I needed done. I explained to the woman at the front desk we were building a house and would be moving soon so I didn't want to pay for any work out of pocket. I have double coverage insurance so I only wanted work done that would be covered and I would wait til the 1st of the year to have the rest of the work done when my coverage started over. Pretty cut and dry right? Well, I received a bill from them several weeks later after my two insurances paid, for 1400.00 dollars!! I called them to ask what happened, if there was a mistake but they informed me the woman that helped me no longer worked there and the bill was correct. I was shocked, appalled, and very angry. They offered no fix or apologies. I will never be back, and I tell everyone I know. I just wish I would have wrote this review as soon as it happened. It was 6 months ago. I had my 6 month cleaning and checkup yesterday. When I moved to Richland 15 years ago a colleague recommended Dr. Eric Powel and I have been coming ever since. He is the best dentist I have ever been to. My daughters as children were terrified of dentists, but not Dr. Powel. He ensures that dental work is as painless as possible. He is always willing to explain any work to be done or recommendations on things to watch. I never have to wait in the office, his appointments are right on time. If I did I wouldn't mind as the waiting room is warm and inviting as are the front desk staff The treatment areas are spotless and also inviting if that is possible for a dental office which for many is a scary place. Molly my hygienist is excellent and clearly cares about my dental health. I can not recommend Dr.Powel and his staff highly enough. read more

I attended a pre-scheduled appt. yesterday afternoon for the installation of a temp. Crown, this being the first one I have ever had to have installed. I have been until yesterday, a steady client of this Dr.; that time is now gone, permanently, due to the atrocious service I received from his resident staff! This Dr.'s predecessor, Dr. Christopherson, was my Dentist of choice in Richland for well over ten years, until his recent retirement; he is sorely missed on account of his office's complete professionalism and mutual respect for all their clientele. Yesterday's appt. with Dr. Powell put myself over the edge of my mutual patience and tolerance for unprofessional, hasty, and slovenly workmanship, in regards to my individual dental care needs!! My procedure was fraught with continual screw-ups, in my estimation; one of the Hygienists attending to myself, could not even remember my first name, for God's sakes!! They additionally gave to myself, an anesthetic that escalates overall heart rate, when THEY KNEW FROM THE OUTSET, I have an existing predisposition to high blood pressure, WHAT THE HELL!! The culmination of the mishaps that typified this entire botched procedure came, when the same damn dumbass Hygienist, INTENTIONALLY ground down an upper Tooth, WITHOUT APPLIED ANESTHETIC, to my upper jaw, JESUS CHRIST, WHAT GODDAMN IGNORANCE; I was neither appraised of this sudden turn of events, nor did I have a chance to consent to the preceding; I was utterly enraged and pissed off at this!! When the anesthesia finally wore off last night, the level of pain was excruciating; I contacted their office for an after-hours number to alert them to this; IT DOESN'T EXIST, just some goddamn outdated answering machine message, which sounds as lifeless as one can possibly imagine, UNREAL. I left a message, and before this, also called a few times, to vocalize my concerns to their front office; their attitude towards this entire affair was one of almost total indifference, what bullshit. In summation, I woke up this morning, and finally had my last contact via phone with their office, and this was damned unpleasant; I announced my termination of patronage on that occasion, thank God! I am now going to another, third-party Dental establishment here in Kennewick, far removed from this Dental "house of horrors" there in Richland. I WOULD NOT recommend this establishment to anyone; those that are unfortunate enough to still attend there, should seriously consider getting the hell out while they can!! read more
