I was referred to see Dr Richert for a gum graft, from the moment I got into contact with the office/him he was super informative and clear on exactly what is going to be done with the procedure, also what was required prior to and during the appointment. As for the procedure itself Dr Richert went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and had all the information I needed. Dr Richert and his team showed great professionalism and skill. The procedure went really well with minimal post surgery pain. I needed to have a gum graft and a friend of mine highly recommended Dr. Richert, so I willingly drove over an hour away to have my procedure done. The entire process was smooth and efficient from the consultation to the surgery to the post-operative follow-up. The surgery itself was a lot easier than I expected it to be. Dr. Richert was friendly, accommodating, and had great bedside manner; he even contacted me over the weekend post procedure to see how everything was going. A professional office, but the front office staff was not prepared for my visit and his associate probably needs to get some remedial training in chair side manners. He certainly lost me as a patient and I happen to be the Dental Director of a very large health insurance company in California with the responsibility of oversight of dental quality within the network of dentists. The associate was "jawing" with the front office staff for several minutes while I waited in the waiting area. I was led to an operatory after sitting for about 10 minutes, the associate never introduced himself, simply asked what I needed, never asked me about my health or medications I was taking, never took my blood pressure, and proceeded with a perfunctory periodontal pocket depth examination; he then told me I needed a deep cleaning and that one of my teeth was mobile. He asked me if I knew what a deep cleaning involved. I answered "yes." He then proceeded to tell me that a deep cleaning involved using a local anesthetic. I said "I know,". He then asked why I knew this ("are you a dental hygienist or a dental assistant?"). I said "I am a dentist working for a large insurance company, currently licensed, have 2 master degrees and my dental degree, and have 40 years practicing public health dentistry and I have done hundreds of deep cleanings." He asked me why I didn't tell him; I said "...you never asked and by the way all of this information is in my records" (he obviously never looked at the records or else he would have been aware of what I did). The associate gave me the impression he wanted to be somewhere else other than taking care of my dental needs. Maybe I was taking away from his coffee time?? I am sure the associate is well trained in periodontics but he gave me no indication he was interested in my dental issues. When there is a choice of where to spend one's health care dollars, one can find a periodontist who is just as well trained but with a better personality or at least PRETENDS to be interested in the one's treatment needs even if they are not. BTW, I have pretty damn good dental insurance plus I adjudicate all dental claims !! read more

I had an implant placed by Dr. Martin for a front tooth. He explained the whole procedure, took his time with me, never felt rushed. He used the latest in implant technology. My tooth and smile came out perfect, matches my other teeth perfectly. I am a year out from procedure with no problems. My family can't even tell I got an implant. His staff is also very nice as well. Would definitely recommend if are in need of an implant. read more

I can't heap enough praise on Dr. Martin! He performed gingival augmentation on my lower front teeth, and the results were perfect. He and his staff are very professional and caring. Dr. Martin made communication with him easy and convenient, so when I had questions or concerns he was able to resolve them immediately. I had previously had an implant done by another excellent periodontist. Prior to my appointment with Dr. Martin, I happened to be chatting with one of the other doctor's staff, and mentioned that I would be going to Dr. Martin for the gum graft. She asked if I minded telling her which teeth were to be worked on. I had an implant placed at office of Dr. Martin and honestly felt like an ATM, the office ran my insurance to later come up with the fact that it got rejected and insurance coverEd $25 and when I checked with my insurance apparently nothing was checked in advance before the procedure. Knowing the final price would probably make me check around and see my options. More to say the bill for extra was dropped into my mailbox after the procedure with not even a follow up email or a phone call. You just expect a little better attitude spending 5k for one implant. So basically they charge me for the price based on my insurance quotes and I paid everything out of pocket. Dr. Itself barely spent any time explaining anything to me and the whole time I spend in their office, for scan, implant placement and 2 check up fit in an hour and half. I used to work in the oral surgeon office and must say should have gone to the place over there as the world known surgeon charge less for implants in SF than in the small office close by the home. People are nice and sweet to have a small talk with, however are incompetent and basically cannot answer any question. read more

I went to doctor Eric Martin for gum recessed problem. He suggested Gingival Augmentation surgery (grafting) for upper and lower gums totaling six teeth. The surgery went fine but i was still bleeding when he sent me home. The bleeding continued and got worse at home, so I went back to the office and he had to add couple of more sutures. I found out that the gingival Augmentation was done only to the lower teeth. Now after a month it looks like the grafting is too low in the gum and may not cover desirable area's of the teeth that was originally promised. I was told that I will need second surgery to do the same for upper teeth. After one month from the surgery, i will need a separate surgery to move the graft up to cover the lower teeth. He is very friendly the staff are very nice, but I am not sure if he was a right doctor for me. read more

I don't know if I have ever been compelled to leave a review for my Doctors but I have been so impressed with Dr. Martin & Dr. Ferrier. I am posting this to both of their sites because my procedure requires both of their participation. From both of their sincere & caring demeanor to their incredible skill I just can't find enough words to express how impressed & grateful I am. I must have read a couple hundred reviews & researched so many Dr.'s in my quest to find the best implant specialist I could. I had several consultations prior to meeting Dr. Ferrier for the first time none of which compared to how I was made to feel when I met him. He is so real, so sincere & has such a caring nature about him. Although we're giving Dr. Martin 5 stars, this IS a real review. Dr. Martin treated my 8 year old son for his phrenectomy. It's a simple procedure but my son was terrified. He explained the entire procedure to my son, step by step. He told him what to expect. With no surprises and a great deal of care, he brought my son through the procedure quickly and painlessly. I received an implant from Doctor Martin and staff in Dec-12 and everything went wonderfully well. I cannot imagine anyone performing this procedure better than how Dr. Martin and team did it: communicative, gentle and careful, assured and decisive. So, I'm giving a 100% endorsement to this office for doing implant work! A couple more comments on the general experience of receiving implant work: a few people had shared with me their concerns/fears about this sort of procedure -- but in my case, at least, they were unfounded, as my recovery was really quick with only mild discomfort for a few subsequent days. At no time did I have actual pain or problems during the 90 days post surgery. I think this means if you're a "normal healer," implant work is really no bigger a hassle than, say, getting a crown done. Dr. Martin is a relatively new but experienced Periodontist in Lafayette. He performed a sinus lift with a bone graft and subsequent implant. I had been reluctant to have this procedure done for over 10 years due to its complexity but on the recommendation of two dentist friends, and after meeting Dr. Martin, I was convinced he was the right person due to his education and knowledge of the latest techniques. I've just had the last step completed before Christmas and the results were nothing short of spectacular. I'm not a yelp poster but felt compelled to let people know about Dr. Martin's exceptional abilities and most importantly, dedicated approach to his patients. Dr. Martin is awesome!!! I took my 9-year-old daughter for a surgical procedure; she was SO nervous that she couldn't sleep the night before. As soon as we walked in Dr. Martin's office, he came out to greet my daughter and made her feel safe and comfortable. Today is Sunday, June 17, 2018. I am recovering from the last surgery that I will need in my restoration treatment plan. I'm doing great! On June 14th, I had an implant and gum graft performed by the eminent, Dr. Eric Martin! This was another amazing accomplishment as Dr. Martin had to place the implant carefully between two other teeth - very small access area; and measuring precisely, he did an excellent job! I saw the X-ray and it's perfect! Super impressive! He and his staff always make sure I am comfortable and help me understand the procedure, which is very helpful to me. Dr. Martin is not only highly skilled and well versed in his profession, he has a sincere and caring demeanor; and he is truly one of the nicest people I've met! It's not easy for me to trust, and Dr. Martin took a lot of extra time to ensure that I had all my questions answered, including going over X-rays with me! He has a great sense of humor, he's down to earth and easy to talk to. He is always a phone call away if I have a question or concern. His team is also very responsive to my calls and questions! Easy scheduling as well. They have made this dental marathon manageable and I might say, "enjoyable" if you can enjoy dental surgery!
