I was referred by my primary dentist regarding getting some implants. My regular dentist recommended Eric Tsai very highly. I tried to schedule an appointment for a consultation and evaluation through his website and entered the name of the referring dentist and what my needs were. I received a call from his office later in the day and the person who called asked me for all the information I had submitted online. I was in my car and I referred back to the information submitted and that I would prefer to discuss my situation with the dentist after my exam. I was disappointed that the person calling didn't read my submission and I felt why did the online site ask for it if they were not going to look at it. When I said I would wait to review everything with the dentist because I didn't want to have to repeat everything again when I met with him, she said she would have someone call and hung up. Hanging up caught me totally off guard. Based on this call, I posted a 3 star review relaying my experience and later that evening the dentist called me directly. He explained that the call had been recorded (was not disclosed that it was being recorded during the call) and that his office person handled the call in appropriately and he apologized. Based on my conversation, the dentist and I agreed that someone from his staff would reach out to me to schedule an appointment (our conversation was after office hours) and that maybe with next Monday being a holiday (Mondays is when he did his consults in Walnut Creek), that something could be set up for Thursday in his Danville office. Again this was last Thursday evening. As a gesture of good faith, I removed my review, hoping for a fresh start. As of today, three business days later, no one has reached out to me. When looking for someone to perform oral surgery, one of the most important things is trust. But when your first impression is a rude office staff person (who the dentist acknowledged responded poorly) then there is no follow up when the dentist said someone would, it erodes your trust in the care and level of communication the office will give you. It shouldn't be so difficult, just read what I sent you can call back when you say you will. It's just respect. Again, I cannot speak to the dentist's skill or ability, but as a business owner myself, I don't think this is how you build a loyal client base. I guess that is why the Perioperative programs at Stanford include MBA classes to teach Doctors the business side of a practice.

Tylenol only helped 50% of the pain and I hard time sleeping. There was no cell service at the camping site. Upon my return back home, I did not hesitate to call Dr. Lacrampe's office. Marie, the receptionist, was able to make an appointment the following week. Thank you for the great customer service for a semi-emergency visit. I knew the tooth needed to be extracted. At my appointment, Dr. Lacrampe examined the back tooth and agreed it needed to be removed. Apparently, I had a big abscess, and my tooth was still loose. He and his SUPER-STAR assistant, Tracy, were able to help calm my anxiety. I hate getting shots. Tracy held my hand to comfort me. Both DR. And Tracy distracted me by talking about life while the procedure was being done. P.S. I'm not sure why recently a few YELPERS gave Dr. Lacrample's office low reviews. The "this is how we do it, take it or leave it" attitude was particularly disturbing to me. If I had a reasonable alternative with another provider I would have taken my business elsewhere. Having an implant is such a lengthy process that changing practices in the middle of a treatment plan was not reasonable. When dealing with the business aspect of Muir Oral, I feel more like an account and not a patient. It's very dehumanizing. My future oral surgery needs will be with a different practice. Regardless of whether or not you have insurance, this place makes you pay up front for everything. I was told by Jasmine, the billing clerk, that she would bill Delta Dental for the services. Whatever Delta would not pay, she would bill my health insurance for. I told Jasmine at that time that my health insurance was going to require a pre-authorization for anything like this. She assured me that they do this all the time and not to worry. She had a copy of my medical card. Shortly after my surgery, I received a letter from my medical insurance denying my claim. I called Jasmine and asked what was going on. She told me Delta had denied my claim, as had my medical insurance, and she had sent in a dispute to get the situation resolved. I told her I wanted to be kept informed of what's going on. After not hearing from Jasmine for over a month, I called the office. Let me tell you, Jasmine seems to take a lot of time off. And, when she's there, she always seems to be unavailable in meetings with the doctor. When you do get in touch with her, she is about as rude as you can get. If you question anything that she has done, she will become argumentative and talk right over you. When I did get in touch with her, she told me that my medical insurance denied my claim because it's an HMO. Apparently, she can only bill PPO insurance carries. I asked her why this happened, given she had my medical card, that clearly says HMO on the front, when she initially spoke with me. She had no answer. Had I known this, I would have gone elsewhere for the surgery! I asked to speak with the doctor, and she told me she'll pass the request on to him, but he doesn't usual respond to billing questions. I called again today. Of course, after identifying myself to the operator, I was told she was in meetings with the doctor, and since she was off all next week, I shouldn't expect a call back until the following week. Again, I asked to have the doctor call me, and the clerk told me she would pass that request on to Jasmine. As of today, I'm stuck with the cost of my $1000 surgery, even though I have full medical and dental insurance! This place is an absolute joke!!! If you have insurance, go elsewhere!

We changed doctors for my son's procedure from my daughters because the previous doc changed his scheduling policy and would not let us schedule the surgery until after we physically had the consult and I wanted the date on the books since summer was running out. I called Dr. Rainero's office and they were very friendly and helpful and allowed me to go ahead and schedule the consult and surgery in the same week. They were very thorough in explaining the procedure, risks, pre & post care as well as a detailed explanation of every single charge. Everything was upfront with no surprises. All of the staff and Dr. Rainero had an excellent demeanor with my teen son which put me at ease. Everything went well and he's home resting. The recovery nurse was great, the doc came in to check in with me and my son before we left. I was impressed when the doc called this evening to check in on him personally. I could tell he was on his car speakerphone which shows that his patients matter even on the drive home. Every single person we came into contact in that office was friendly and pleasant. My only complaint would be that there was a bit of a wait to see the doc for both the consult and also the procedure but since everything else was better than expected I felt the full 5 stars were earned.
