I rented from Eric Goodman when I first moved to New York. I have since lived in multiple apartments, rentals and those that I have owned, and I can assure you that Eric Goodman and his company were the least professional, even sleaziest realty corporation I have ever worked with. My apartment, which I just checked out on Streeteasy, was in a state of shameful disrepair nearly 20 years ago, with poorly maintained appliances, a bathroom with grouting coming out and moldy, etc. Well, it still looks the same - even the stove. So, with whatever can be said about the rental market right now and the difficulty finding an apartment, avoid this company at all costs. read more

We just finished moving out of a building managed by Eric Goodman Realty Corp. Matt Goodman helped us find this beautiful apartment a few years ago. This review is to appreciate how seamless the move-out was (just like the move-in.) Matt worked with the LL to secure an agreeable listing date, move-out date, inspection for us to get the security back. Coordinated with the Super (Neville is a gem) to get the place fixed up for the new in-coming tenants and gave us a letter of reference for our new place. If you are looking for apartments in the UES you can't go wrong with this firm. read more

Responsive and responsible real estate company. Did a great job repairing fence. Good people! Especially Matt! read more

I've lived in many apartments over the span of 10 years in NYC and Matt made my rental experience easy and positive. He is extremely responsive, professional and reasonable. He is a genuinely good guy and worked with me in a kind and flexible manner when I had moving in/out and rental concerns during COVID-19. Thank you Matt! read more

I've rented from many places over the years in NYC with many different brokers. Working with Eric Goodman Realty - specifically broker Jen Lewis - was the best experience I've ever had. Jen was thoughtful, kind, genuine, and detailed on every aspect of viewing, applying and signing the lease to the apartment. Everyone in the Eric Goodman office was kind and helpful during what could've been (and usually is) a stressful experience. I'm hoping to stay at my new apartment for awhile, but when the time comes to look again, I will be asking Jen and the Eric Goodman team for assistance again. read more

Landlords in NYC can be a true nightmare, but Matt and the rest of the Goodman team are pleasant and accommodating. Leases and rent payments are nicely streamlined, and issues are always addressed with care and expediency. read more

In a city notorious for unprofessional and sneaky real estate brokers, Goodman Reality does nothing to distinguish itself from it's peers. I rented an apartment from these guys a few years ago, and I recently moved out. Getting repairs done to my apartment was always a chore, and when they finally were "completed" the quality was second rate. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Great experience with Eric Goodman Realty Corp. Rented a studio apartment in one of their buildings for 3 years, the best apartment I've ever lived in during my 10 years as a New Yorker. They were always quick to respond if there was ever an issue with my apartment (which was rare) and never acted like I was an inconvenience to them. Very reasonable rent negotiations as well. Highly recommend. read more

Eric Goodman Realty Corporation New York, NY Review Date: 06/15/2010 I always suspect 5 star reviews of anything in New York, since most places these days seem to forget about being just plain nice as a way to get business. Also overly enthusiastic reviews I tend to suspect come from the businesses themselves. Well surprise!: this is it, the real deal. I always believe that everyone should know when businesses are good, not just when they are bad, so I am writing this review accordingly. My experience: nice, patient people who found me an apartment that I'm very, very happy in, especially considering the apartments I was shown by other brokers..(one cute little gem that had a toilet in the closet and a makeshift shower hooked up next to the sink in the kitchen, no lie). Minimal hassle applying and getting leases signed. FAST process. My broker was Lena read more

I started searching for my first apartment towards the end of 2020 and it was not a great experience. Dealing with pushy realtors, looking at apartments that did not match the pictures and the lies I was told made it even worse. Just when I was about to give up I found a listing with the ERIC GOODMAN REALTY CORP and I am so happy i contacted them. They introduced me to Jen Lewis who is absolutely amazing. She is attentive smart caring genuine and most importantly HONEST. She knew this was my first time renting without me even telling her lol and she went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. Even till today she'll contact me to make sure everything is ok with my apartment. Everyone in the office is also amazing as well. When you walk into the office you can feel that it's family oriented business. I love my apartment and just want thank everyone at ERIC GOODMAN for making this transition easy. And special thanks to Jen Lewis you're the best!! read more

I had an excellent experience dealing with Matt. He was professional, warm and transparent in all our interactions. While he was unable to give me my first choice of apartment as someone beat me to it, he reached out to me first when another apartment in the same building opened up. Through the duration of my stay, he was responsive every time I reached out, and no issue took more than a day to resolve. I'd also like to put in a special word for my super who was genuinely outstanding. I'd highly recommend Matt to deal with in the midst of the ginormous mess of finding an apartment in NYC. read more

I am fan of Eric Goodman realty. I like Eric and Lena is an absolute sweetheart. My only complaint is that my rent went up just because the new people moving in the building don't know how to negotiate theirs and somehow that reflected mine come lease renewal. That being said, I really can't complain. I love Eric like he's family. read more

I worked with Matt from Eric Goodman Realty and he was extremely helpful and most importantly flexible in n helping me find the right apartment. Highly recommend these guys. read more

I had no issues with the apartment I ended up renting but this 'management' company is very sketchy. They collect a broker fee in cash for unlocking an apartment that I found on my own. Plus they are not even supposed to take a fee as the management company which is probably why they keep it untraceable. Then, they 'manage' your apartment by ignoring any issues you may have. Sleezy as hell... read more

I worked with Matt from Eric Goodman Realty on my most recent apartment and found the group to be professional and courteous, guiding me through a lot of the process with smiles and patience. I also noticed that the apartments that I saw that they represented were definitely of a higher quality than many of the buildings I saw during my whirlwind tour. They listened to all of my needs and concerns and replied quickly. I would recommend them. read more

Both Eric and Matt are great to work with. Matt found me my apt - and Eric managed the building. Eric was great because he really cared about his tenants. Whenever I had an issue with my apt (nothing major at all - just typical wear and tear) he and his team (Ariel - the amazing super in my building) were on it. I lived there for 5 years - and always found his office to be professional, attentive, accommodating and all around great. Just good, nice people to work with - I truly can't say enough nice things about them! read more

Great experience with these guys, I only dealt with Matt, but he was extremely personable and very helpful.

When it came time for me to look for my first apartment I did not know where to start and I was overwhelmed. For two months I spent day and night online looking at listings and trying to set up viewings with unreliable realtors. I finally found the apartment of my dreams and messaged Eric Goodman Realty. They quickly messaged me back and connected me with the lovely Jen Lewis. She was wonderful. She was attentive, caring, informative, kind and respectful. She met me right away for a viewing. I really could not say enough nice things about her. My elderly parents came to check out the apartment with me and she was especially caring to them and happily answered all of their many questions. She gave me her direct number and made herself readily available to me and walked me through the entire process all the way to signing my first lease! Everyone I have come across at Eric Goodman Realty was extremely professional and kind. I would definitely recommend them. I am very grateful for their help. read more

I was under the impression that when I put a deposit down on an apartment with Eric Goodman Realty, that the apartment would be taken off the market. I guess I was wrong. Eric Goodman Realty and the building owners that they represent (307 E. 89th Street LLC) do not value their word. My boyfriend and I were approved for an apartment, had scheduled a time to sign the lease, and had even obtained cashier's checks when we received an email from Matt Goodman that the owner decided to give the apartment to a long time tenant who wanted to switch apartments. That's just bad business. read more

* This is a NO STAR review, but I have to chose 1 star in order to post. This guy Matt is totally useless. I made an appointment with him to check out one of their apartments. Right from the get go he had a bit of an attitude and wasn't very friendly. He seemed to be distracted the entire time I was viewing the apartment. I was a very uncomfortable experience. Despite his attitude, I was interested in putting in some paperwork and a deposit so I could to hold the place. I was going to go home, fill out the application and email all of my documentation to him. I wanted to do everything quickly so the place wouldn't get taken. I did what I was supposed to do but I didn't hear from him for two days. When he did finally get in touch with me, he gave me some lame - I was out of town - excuse. Then he told me he didn't think I would be able to get the apartment because the landlord blahblahblah. Waste of time and totally unprofessional. I'm clean cut, I have a great job, excellent credit and I've never had a problem renting a place. How could he possibly know what the landlord was going to say if he didn't even submit my paperwork. He sucks and I'm pissed I wasted even 1 hour with him. read more

I am not one to write reviews but felt it was necessary for Eric Goodman Realty. When I was first introduced to the company I was hesitant to work with them based on the one bad review I came across. I expressed my concern and received a response back immediately. I would highly recommend Eric Goodman Realty and have had nothing but positive interactions with them. It's not easy finding a trustworthy, reliable service in New York and I feel they fall into this category. read more

It is a pleasure to work with Matt at Eric Goodman Realty. Matt always keeps me in the loop of anything going on in the building and has always been available to answer my questions. It is clear that he always keeps tenants in the front of his mind when any issues come up. read more

I took a job in NYC on a whim and needed a place to live that was a) near my work on the Upper East Side and b) decent. I was very particular about what I was looking for. I worked with Matt, Senior VP, who turned out to not only be one of the nicest people I've met in this town (we all know how impatient and crazy NYC real estate agents can be) but also was extremely loyal, and wouldn't stop until he found me the right property at the right price. He worked with me day in and day out to look at apartments (sometimes I'd meet him on my lunch breaks-- he was very flexible) and get all the necessary information together to apply for one, and, lo and behold, I got it. I couldn't be happier. Eric Goodman Realty (Eric, by the way, the owner, is actually in the office-- a wonderful man who is always willing to help if there is ever an issue) is comprised of agents who are down-to-earth, and take the time to listen and discuss with their clients what is most important to them, and try to accommodate their needs as best they can. I dealt with some other real estate agencies in NYC who charged a fortune of commission for their (less than standard) services, and didn't seem to have the same values as me (they kept trying to bait me into paying more than my budgeted amount). What a waste of time that was. I found exactly what I was looking for with Eric Goodman Realty, and I can't express enough my thanks and gratitude to their staff, Matt in particular, who worked so hard to get me exactly what I wanted. If you are looking for an apartment around the Upper East Side, trust the company that is located right in the area for quality work and effort, and rest assured that your needs will be met with the utmost sincerity and professionalism at Eric Goodman Realty. read more

Matt Goodman is the most conscientious, hard-working and diligent realtor-manager you will ever meet. Inquiries are answered almost instantaneously. Repairs and/or other issues are addressed immediately and with precision. Matt is a master of detail and, at the same time, one of the most honest and genuine people you will ever meet in this business. And this is a family-operated business of native New Yorkers who offer a cordial, warm experience far removed, for instance, from working with your usual real-estate management firm. They know the city and know Yorkville, in particular. And they will help make your new apartment a true home. read more

Nothing but problems with these people. Moving in the sink and tube were a mess, took a while to fix the sink, the tub is still not in good condition and we moved in over the summer. Next the hot water was out for a week or two, and since then we have not had gas for cooking, this was in October, I was given a hot plate but one of them does not work so cooking on one hot plate for two people is very impractical. Stay away from these thieves. read more
