The past year or so this location has went downhill. The consistency that used to bring me back isn't present anymore. The cheese quesadilla which now is $7.00!!! wasn't grilled much at all and there were cold clumps of inside. They forgot the pico salsa with my $6.00 chips (stale) and salsa . The real dealbreaker happened last night when I purchased my favorite shredded beef tacos I've ordered over the last 8 years - so, the meat has changed, with entirely different texture, and a strange taste, and odd seasoning. Just a "thank you". So get my burrito and I get my horchata and I feel the ice I tell the guy I asked for no ice and he gave me a dirty look. I he gave me the cup back but it was 9/10 like that line you see on the rim of the cup well below. I saw that and didn't even want my dad to drink it because I felt like something was done to it. Eribertos isn't just another "Bertos" place like the others. Far from it! This small walk-up spot serves some good Mexican food. The breakfast menu and lunch/dinner menu is extensive. I can tell you that I've tried several items and not one has been bad. Idk what these other reviewers are talking about, but the food is great! Yes, I understand the wait can be long, but it's worth it. In fact, I would freak out if my Mexican food was ready any faster because I'd think they just plopped it in the microwave. Not the case here, everything is freshly prepared and it's evident in the first bite. Last night I ordered a chile rellano burrito. Sounds strange, but I love rellanos and burritos so why not? This thing is possibly the best burrito I've ever had in my life! Now, I've tried most of their other burritos, but this one has another element of magic. I highly recommend it. This will always be my favorite 'Bertos'! I have been coming here since I was in high school & I've tried so many menu items and have only ever been dissatisfied with the chopped chicken. The staff is always so kind and friendly. The food always cooked/fried fresh and they're really accommodating to my extra-ness. (Extra this, no that). The horchata is the best I've had, not chalky like most. The burritos, carne asada fries, rolled tacos, crunchy shredded beef tacos and most recently, the El Pastor tacos are all my favorites. The meat is SO juicy and flavorful. Dessert wise, you can't go wrong with the Tres Leches or filled churros. Love this place! read more

I've been coming to Phoenix a lot over the last 10 years and have always taken advantage of the many berto's that you have here as they are far and away better than any burrito I've ever had outside of Southern California. I always hit the bertos nearest to where I'm staying so they are always random. On this trip, I'm staying near this particular bertos and I promise it's the best one. I'm about to go for the third time in one week because I know it'll be another 6 months before I have another carne asada burrito. This has literally been my favorite taco shop for the last 6 years and will be for the next so many years. I go out of my way to come here. They have a carne asada fries burrito that's to die for. Their dollar tacos are on point and they will make you a burrito with whatever you want in it as long as they have it. I asked for the dankest burritos I found in Facebook and they made it with no questions. It was literally so amazing I wish they had it on their menu. I plan on getting it almost every time now. it's carne Asada, shrimp, rice, fries, sour cream &a gauc. I got mine without gauc added cheese and lettuce and cilantro! I like the #2, two shredded beef tacos with rice and beans, love it. My Alex likes the Chorizo, Egg, Potato and Cheese Breakfast Burrito. Not sure what is up with some of the other reviews, but we really love their food here at this location. With the other 4/5 star reviews, you have great taste. You get it. They have made many changes by adding a nice outdoors patio to eat at and two drive-thru windows. That's how busy they are. We pulled up to the speaker to order and the guy could not hear our order and then when he tried to repeat our order back to us we couldn't understand him as the speak was very muffled. And then there was one car infront of us it took them 25 minutes to get their food and they made it wrong making us wait even longer to get our food. Currently drive through only. Staff was patient with regional miscommunication (my husband wanted chalupas, which are called tostadas here) Lol. We've lived in this area for 3 years and only had stopped in one other time but recently "rediscovered" this place between shopping. It was great, last week we went three days in a row :-). I'm a picky eater and always order no lettuce, sour cream, etc., and they haven't screwed it up. Lots of options, the AlPastor is excellent but weird with green peppers, or were they jalapeños? I love the ground beef tacos, or the carne asada, and the price is right! Sometimes crowded, others not, but with two drive thru lanes it goes fairly quick. The drive thru guy seems to be nice and friendly. Food wise, please do not waste your money. Expensive and tasteless food. The meat that they used seems to be boiled only and do not have taste.
