Company lacked customer service and professionalism. It was extremely difficult to get in contact with the project manager or someone else with the company throughout the process. I was quoted one price and was then informed that I needed something else with a different price when the installers came out.the price went up $1200 when the installers came out to inspect prior to the project getting started. I explained what I wanted when I spoke with the rep and was quoted something else. The company does not attempt to hear customers out. Their response is "page 6 of the contract you signed." It's pointless to speak with them about anything. I went to my backyard only to find two pieces of my fence missing. I reached out to Peta via text and still have not received a response. My fence was completed on 7/16. The main reason I take stars away is because the customer service was extremely lacking with our experience. We received confirmation texts from the Ergeon project manager, including a phone number to contact them. They subcontracted our fence work out to another party. Ergeon said they would be here at 10am... instead at 8:30am we were surprised to see men in our backyard. Not even a knock at the door. They just started demoing the fence, and entered the property without communicating. Thank God our dog wasn't outside! When my husband tried to communicate with the crew about it, all they said was that they didn't know anything about 10am. Instead of hearing our concerns the workers just blew him off. We called and left a voicemail for the project manager, but never even got a call back. It actually makes me wonder if their "project manager" is just ai and people aren't actually monitoring the lines regularly. Regardless, the communication was very poor. Ive picked up a number of loose nails off the ground so far, and have quite the mess to clean up in our yard from the fence work. With that, the overall build quality of the new fence seems pretty solid and like they built it to last. My advice for Ergeon is that they need to dial in communication and quality control with their subcontractors and focus more on providing customer service and strong communication. read more

I cannot allow this 5-star review to remain. After months of being tossed around, being dismissed, ignored, and spoken to disrespectfully, I finally gave in and agreed to pay $1500 to repair the motorized driveway gate that we had installed in fall of 2021. I contacted Ergeon well within the one-year warranty and they failed to stand by their work. When I questioned them about their mistake, I was given no answer and instead I was told that I approved the work after installation, and they take no responsibility for the errors of the gate. As you can tell from my previous review, installation of the fence and gate[s] went well and we were very pleased by the outcome. All was well through the winter of 2021, until in spring of 2022 I noticed that the fence had settled, and the motorized gate was now scraping across the driveway. Upon further inspection I noticed that the black metal frame of the motorized gate was sitting 1.5" below the bottom of the lowest redwood panel. Had the metal frame been installed to be in-line with the lowest panel, it would have allowed for 1.5" of additional room and the scraping would not have occurred [as it was not occurring with any of the other gates]. I contacted Ergeon in spring of 2022 inquiring about having them come out to repair the frame, as I was concerned that prolonged scraping of the gate could damage the frame, motor, or mechanisms even further. Their suggestion was to replace the entire motorized gate, redo the metal frame completely, including the redwood panels, totaling over $3000 in labor and material cost NOT to be covered by warranty. I have no experience in the world of fencing or metalwork, but I knew that a full replacement was not necessary. Simple cuts of the metal frame, removal of 1.5" and reapplying the bottom of the frame to match the edge of the lowest redwood panel should suffice. No additional material needed. After hearing my suggestion, they took days to discuss it with the installer only to return to say that my suggestion would work, but it would discontinue any current warranty on the gate. I accepted these conditions. However, then they told me that I would need to pay $1500 to cover material and labor costs. I questioned this amount as no additional material was needed and this task should not take much time for the installer AND I believed that the work should be covered by the one-year warranty as it was their mistake that the frame was too low. On multiple occasions, discussions with multiple employees, Ergeon would fail to answer my question: Why was the black metal frame installed lower than the lowest panel? This is a flaw and should be covered by warranty. For months, I stood my ground and refused to pay the $1500 as our gate continued to not work. At that time, our only choice was to leave the gate open 24/7, which defeated the purpose of privacy and safety. I was concerned they were trying to drag out this debate throughout summer as the one-year warranty was quickly approaching in fall 2022. In late summer of 2022, they put me on the phone with the rudest employee of all who continuously raised his voice and was yelling at me. [Ergeon records phone calls and I HOPE someone heard that phone call] I knew his goal was to not let me off that phone until I agreed to pay the $1500. Again, I refused and again he shot back. Ergeon was proving to me that they do not believe in "the customer is always right", but instead will attempt to steamroll you. Eventually, feeling abused and beaten, I conceded. All I wanted was the safety and privacy of my family. The installers came and repaired the gate [as per my suggestion]. I watched from my home as they took a 45-minute job and milked it into a 3-hour job [including their one-hour lunch break in the middle]. I agreed to pay $1500, and no new material was needed, no additional redwood panels were needed, and no metal was needed other than to weld the edges. After installation I contacted Ergeon to say, "please let me know the best form of payment" and an invoice was never sent. I assumed they had reconsidered and after performing the work, agreed to cover the issue under warranty. Fast forward to 2023 tax season and I began to receive multiple alerts from a third-party hired by Ergeon to address unpaid invoices. They were claiming I had received an invoice and had failed to pay. Not even one week after receiving the first third-party notice, a stranger interested in the services of Ergeon messaged me privately on Yelp regarding my gate as they wanted to know more about my experience. Hmmm... is that an investigative tactic? I paid their invoice and am glad to have this distrustful company off my back. If you are looking for a fence or concrete company, take my experience into consideration... Ergeon will not stand by their mistakes, work, or warranty. They treat their customers with disrespect.
