We have been coming to Erebus every year and I enjoy it every time. We went on a Monday because it was only $20 a person. You can skip the line by purchasing VIP tickets. If you don't show up at opening, be prepared to wait in a long line. We arrived 7:10pm and there was already a line, and they opened 7:30pm. Luckily it was nice out. When we purchased our tickets we were within the first 200 people so we got free t-shirt tickets. We went to three other haunted attractions that all sucked. The hayrides and hainted houses were awful. We were rushed and no one enjoyed them. We were hopeful going into Erebus. We were absolutely shocked that they changed a lot of the entire walkthrough. We actually got scared a few times from people jumping out at us. They did get rid of the ballpit. However, if you are claustrophobit be warned there is an area you walk through that gets tight. My sister and others behind her were freaking out telling us to walk faster. It was actually a lot of fun. We picked up our t-shirts at the end. They had some cards for the escape room to get a discount. There was a sign that said "ask me how to save 50% off" for the escape room. They also have a little shop area for drinks and food. I got a blue raspberry slushie for $5. Overall, if you are looking to actually have a fun time I highly suggest Erebus because we were all impressed with the quality compared to the other haunted houses/hayrides we experienced this year. read more

OK, so I bought into the hype but honestly... kind of overrated. Yes it's long and has a lot of elaborate scares, but it is so damn cramped and dark with so much noise and activity you don't really get to see what's going on before you are quickly shoved into the next noisy claustrophobic scenario. Sorry, but Eloise Asylum is much better and scarier, (but a little more gross). Friendly staff though. read more

Finally, I get to go to Erebus haunted House! I've wanted to go for years and never made the trip out there, but I happen to overhear some friends making plans to go so I kind of invited myself along, and there were eight of us and I believe I was the only one that had not been there before. We had a weekday at 7:30 ticket and we got there about 7 o'clock to get in line so we didn't have a long wait and they got us in pretty quickly, and I believe the entire event was over an hour. And it was pretty exciting and a lot of fun. Would I go there again? Absolutely what a blast. From what I understand, they mix it up every year so you don't always see the same thing. We did get split up from our group of eight. We were together at the beginning and then at some point they were doing four at a time but most of the time I was following my friends for a while, they put me in the lead, but that was pretty scary because some areas are so dark. Brought a group of teenagers on a Saturday night and paid for the VIP entrance and it made it very easy to get in and out without having to wait in the line that wraps around the building. All of the kids had a great time. The surrounding area is not very nice. If you stay close to the haunted house, everything is fine, but I wouldn't wander too far away. read more

Please know that if you try to book their "family friendly" experience, it is NOT family friendly. They offered a family friendly version and told us that the actors would not go after us. I was with my 11 year old daughter and they specifically went after her and not me and we both had glow sticks. Then they only responded after facebook gave me a survey about businesses I frequented and they totally blew me off. They do not care about their customers and do not provide an experience they do not provide. Beware before you buy tickets for something they are falsely advertising. read more

Effects 5 stars! Actors 5 stars! The creativity blew me away! Fun time! Wish they had a lost and found section. I lost my prescription glasses. In the last room, they drop pit balls on you to give you an illusion of a claustrophobic scare. Tried calling and email... there's no way to reach for my lost glasses. We are from CA and have done universal studios, knots scary farm, queen marry, you name it and this is by far the best haunted house I have been to. What made it extremely creepy is that it is just you and your group that go in so one of you are going to get scared. You don't have the luxury of hiding in the middle of the line. Great time here!!!! We were prepared for a long wait but were pleasantly surprised. At max we waited maybe 20 minutes on a Sunday night!! This place is legit! The actors were on point from the door. It's a three/four story in the dark, jump scare experience. There is a point that requires a bit of bending/stooping over so back/knee pain sufferers be prepared. There was a part that simulated you walking through a swamp and a room that fills with balls so claustrophobic people be fore warned. All in all it was a fun time read more

Erebus is one of the few haunted attractions I've seen that has effectively taken a huge variety of scenes and managed to tell a coherent story. I love the idea that the guests are being used as test subjects to time travel. The addition of a small archway between scenes combined with the story at the top was enough to tell an interesting tale while still allowing for creative freedom in the different sections for amazing scares. The large, unique location adds so much charm to the event. Erebus uses the four levels that houses the haunt effectively having you go up stairs and down ramps in a way that really made me uncertain of where I was and what was coming next. I love the buried alive moment. I found the set and props impressive. I especially loved the Dinosaur. Overall I think Erebus puts on and incredible event and I hope you'll check it out. I am writing this review to make known and bring to attention my extremely bad experience at Erebus. I am not satisfied with the quality of customer service within Erebus. I attended Erebus on October 19, 2019 with my cousin. About midway into the experience, we were asked by an in make up employee if we kicked someone. I, through confusion, responded asking out of concern "someone was kicked?" She had an attitude which is understandable as you want to be protective and caring of your employees. As a business owner, I understand. The actor continued moving forward to the larger group in front of us and asked them also if any of them kicked an actor. This group seemed to also be confused and after a moment a few of them said no. The actor then came back to my cousin and I, pointed at us, and said vehemently "One of you kicked an actor!" I let her know right away again that neither one of us kicked anyone. She insisted that we did and that they have us on camera. I pleaded to her to go ahead and run the tape. She then left in a huff. This experience was offensive and disappointing, ruining the entire attraction. This actor approached two seemingly young looking black women and accused us of kicking someone, and spent little time "interrogating" any other group or individuals. I am a martial artist and I don't take accusations of physical violence lightly. I don't know if someone from the group in front of us kicked that person. But I can assure you, my cousin or I did not. read more

Erebus was "okay". I'm a huge scaredy-cat and wanted something to make me shake in my boots, but this was not it. There weren't many jump scares what so ever, and I felt like it was just a museum of props and special effects. The actors didn't really seem into their job, and kind of just stood there as if they were there only because they were getting paid. Our tickets were discounted from $23 to $20 which was nice, but personally I won't be back. It wasn't anything that made me scream and run quickly, I'm disappointed to say the least. They also have you go in large groups which takes the fun out of it, because you know what's coming if you're in the back if someone screams or makes a comment. There are some boring parts, where you wait, and then wait longer, with little to look at. The house can be undermanned at times. These are the bad parts. I've been here two years in a row. It's just a fun experience. The last time I went I was worried it would be the same as the year before, but nope, seems they changed some things up to keep it fresh. I took my 14 nephews and friends, the screams from them and holding each other hands, was a testament to how scary this place it. ive gone to erebus 3 times and every time i was in love UNTIL last night... the 6-7 different waiting areas before the attraction are annoying, very cramped, and hot. Once my group was inside they just kept cramming more people in :(( we got stopped inside the attraction to make room over 8 times and TWICE cast members broke character and opened up exit doors, lighting up the room with white light, it wasn't scary or immersive with the amount of people we were literally shoulder to shoulder with. Not to mention a couple in front of us purchased light up FLASHING masks and headbands, no one around us could see ahead with their neon lights flashing extremely bright, idk why they let you buy those honestly it ruins the whole vibe. I was really disappointed this year, the few actors were cheesy, we were not scared, it was a complete waste of $60 this year for sure. :/ read more

I enjoyed the adventure, however they desperately need to get some air conditioning through the mazes because it's entirely too hot there. They have a board for people who made it through and people that fainted. Those people fainted because there's no circulation of any air from the beginning to the end of the whole thing. They said it takes two hours but it doesn't. Unless you include your waiting outside in the line time. I was sweating my Halloween makeup off and could barely breathe in some areas of the maze. As much as they charge being greedy for $30 a ticket plus $15 for ONE PICTURE THEY CAN AFFORD AIRCONDITIONING!!! Plus they don't want us taking pictures because they want every penny!!! read more

Parking: there's a lot across from the haunted house for $5. Lines: I highly recommend purchasing your ticket on-line before going. Use promo code FB2016 ($4 off on weekday tix only). The line for "timed" tix is really short and on the left side of the building. The tix to buy when you get there... is on the right side. You walk in & there's a guy who takes your professional photo. They can't take pics with your cell phone. I forget how much the professional photos cost, but you view them at the end of the maze. Time: it takes about 45min-1hour to get through the place. Scary: if you have been to many haunted houses... this is well done, but not very high on the scary factor. Cool stunts & effects tho!!! The actors didn't really jump out and scare as much as I thought they would. I would probably recommend going on a weekday instead of a weekend though. Not sure if spending $28-30 + parking is really worth it on a weekend. There was one room where "spiders" are dropped on your head in a super small room... that was a bit scary esp if you get claustrophobic. you can buy glowsticks there. Drove 3hrs because of all the hype on how scary this place was. It was more a fun house, nothing scary about it. The workers were lazy inside the 'haunt' and really didnt do much to scare us They crammed so many people in at a time that we just kept catching up with other people and vice versa. It had interesting props but that's the only positive thing I can say about it. There was multiple people walking out complaining about it was the worst year and not at all what they expected. We went in a very big group around Halloween this year. I enjoyed the actual house a lot and they had a lot of unique structures that I haven't come across at other haunted houses. I wouldn't say it's very 'scary' but it is thrilling and a fun experience especially if you go with people who are a little jumpier. The line was long but understandable given the time of the year. I've seen a lot of negative reviews on the staff which I cannot agree with. The ones interacted with were very pleasant and did their job well. My main complaint is with the lack of actors. Towards the latter rooms, the excitement of looking around the corner had completely died as there was almost never anyone actually there waiting for us. I understand that this was a consequence of the pandemic, but I really think that this is an issue they should deal with as soon as possible. read more

While this is a fun place to visit, especially if you're going in a group with fun people, it's not really scary. For the most part it's just a lot of jump scares and a few optical illusions. The only actor that did really good was the scientist they had at the intro, but the rest of the actors were either boring or embarrassing to watch. 6-9-18 Attended the Apocalypse World tour with escape room. This was pretty cool. Fun. My first time haunted house type thing what more to do than run through with a gun shooting zombies. It will be hot so don't wear a hoodie or long sleeves. We were dressed for the rainy weather. I Recommend for good family fun or groups. Honestly wasn't as scary as I thought. Went to this place last night for the first time. My friend had been there years ago, and said it was one of the best haunts he had been in. This year, there were a few of the animatronics working, but several were clearly not. Also, according to my friend, they shortened the size of the haunt down to about 30 percent of what it had been. They still charge 25 on a sunday, plus five for parking, even with these negative changes. read more

As far as Michigan haunts go, Erebus is probably the most elaborate. The scope is impressive - three stories taking approximately 25 minutes to complete. My crew and I bought VIP tickets ($50 per person) in order to circumvent the line. Having done this a few years in a row during peak Halloween (mid-to-late October), I'd advise the VIP tickets or the quick pass (a tier below VIP - for 35 dollars, you can get in within a half hour). Otherwise, you're buying regular tickets (25 dollars per person) and waiting in line for 1 - 1.5 hours. The haunt is standard but imaginative. Most of the terror relics in jump scares. There are a few segments of the haunt that are unique and inspired; they replicate wading through a swamp by forcing you through a path in shoulder high inflatable walls. There's also a section where you get compressed in a narrow hallway where balls (plastic - think ballpits) fill up the remaining space until you're close to "drowning." The staff is great; if your one of the "laugh my way out of the situation to make it less scary" folks, they'll adapt to you and make some gags. It's good fun. read more

DO NOT GO IF you have epilepsy or sensitivity to flashing lights! I am mildly sensitive to them so I didn't have too much trouble. Not knocking off a star for that reason though, as it was pretty much expected and definitely made it scarier. Other than that i had a lot of fun! Very elaborate and well organized. For people who have experience in horror attractions, you probably won't be very scared. This was my first time in any sort of haunted attraction and it was spooky but fun! I am a major haunted house connoisseur. I go to at least three every year. I've moved around a lot so I've seen them in PA, MI, and CA. Tonight was my first visit at Erebus and it was definitely fun and among the top I've seen, even though it wasn't even 100% functioning. (They gave us a small discount bc it wasn't up 100% but we didn't even notice any down areas.) There was no available street parking and we paid $4 to park in the lot just across the street. Factor that into your costs for the night. There were a lot of actors, which makes it more exciting, and my mom was scared A LOT. Kids and even young adults were screaming. The staff separated a few of the parties and sent the scaredy-cats alone for much of the house. A young kid was separated from his male friends and sent into the house with us by the staff, just to scare him a bit more. He met up with his friends halfway through. I really liked the staff and thought they were a lot of fun. There are a handful of quite large animatronics that come out at you, I mean very large. They're quite fun. These are the things that grab you, touch you from above, attack your legs, and so forth. None of the human actors touched us. The animatronics were pretty cool like a large dinosaur, gorilla, and so forth. Another thing I liked about Erebus is that it wasn't all in one big room. You have to climb stairs to other floors, you have to squish your way through walls that try to suffocate you, you have go through a spinning tunnel, you have to go through places with uneven floors, go through an elevator, and so forth. There is another haunted house called the Realm of Darkness about one mile away. It is definitely worth visiting and I think the sets were more impressive at Realm, but Erebus was scarier. Also, Realm has a VIP pass (no waiting in line) available while Erebus does not, Realm had free parking, and it has a choose-your-own-adventure feel to it. Both places are worth visiting. read more

erebus is great. i have went almost every year since it opened. they keep a lot of the same displays but they also change a lot of it up. the line is usually pretty long, but you get to wait inside and you are entertained while you wait. sometime on the weekends they have a live band playing. i miss the elevator that fills up with plastic balls to give the feeling that you were being buried alive. bring it back! and the swamp they added a couple of years ago is fun too. i do not like the spiders. i always close my eyes during the spider parts. one time they took me and my husband away from our group and sent us into a corner, the wall rotated and we were in a room filled with 'dead bodies' hanging and twitching from the ceiling. i was scared. just watch out because some of these animatronic things can knock you down. i don't want to give too much away, but this haunted house is great. and you usually get a free t-shirt and energy drinks at the end. read more
