Disorganized and obviously do not know how to deal with online, walk in and drive thru orders. Ordered my sandwiches online and was going to pay at the store. Arrived and it's a madhouse with the number of people that were there, understandable. Needless to say they never called out the name for my order so I waited until I saw people that had ordered most recently getting their orders (also no obvious signs indicating where walk in and online orders would be picked up). Asked where my order was in the long line of orders and search ensued. "Found" my order had been sitting on the counter for unknown amount of time.
They were somewhat apologetic, but woman (manager?) takes opportunity to use my situation as a teachable moment rather than fully focusing on getting me out of there with the usual apologies and here's a blah blah blah for your inconvenience.
I waited for 45 minutes to get my abandoned, soggy sandwich--disgusting and soaked through the bread. I was 20 minutes late for work. If they hand't found my sandwiches, I was going to ask for my money back and maybe I should have considering I could not eat the soggy sandwich.
As I rushed for the door, because I was late for work!, the woman (manager?) says in low volume voice would you like a free sandwich. How will a free sandwich recoup my lost work time? How about an immediate "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" and acknowledgement of my presence rather than using me as an example then returning to continue with me. You all made me late! You are making people late!!! Pay attention!!!
As for her (manager?) comment regarding IT being at fault for their inadequacies, it's usually the user that's the cause for problems. If you don't know how to deal with technology perhaps another job without it would be in order.
This establishment needs A LOT of work to get their affairs in order. Slow sandwich making, slow delivery, inaudible voices calling out names, staff that looks and performs confused, managers making dumb comments out loud in front of customers (some people are IT people). She was louder about the negative comment about IT than they were at calling out the order names.
Sad. Shape up or ship out. There are lots of other stores in the area. E&G was decent when they were here a few years ago but obviously time has not healed for their return. read more
