My hair was down to my waist and it just had to go. It was sheer luck I got an appointment with McKenzie the same day! I met the most cheerful young woman I've met in a very long time. McKenzie is personable, knowledgeable experienced and fun. she explained to me what I wanted wouldn't look right with the texture of my hair. And she was right. I can't say enough about how fabulous this appointment was I will definitely go back and I think you should check her out.

She's always been just a 5-minute drive from my place. Today, I decided to follow Grace from Fort Mill to her new salon, Salon 131, in lovely downtown Matthews. (Of course, I had to follow Grace! She's a treasure.) The drive was a quick 30 minutes from Fort Mill, and the salon is nestled right in the heart of downtown Matthews. It's right next to a café and surrounded by restaurants and local shops. I'm already excited to explore the area more when I visit next. The salon itself was welcoming and spacious, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Today, Grace gave me the works--full highlights and a haircut! I left feeling so cute, lighter, and like I'd turned back the clock ten years. Grace is such a genuine, kind, and down-to-earth person. She really listens and knows exactly what my hair needs. Plus, she cares deeply about me and my family. As a 55-year-old with fine, thinning hair, I'm very picky about hairstylists. I want someone who listens but who also knows the latest styles and trends. With Grace, I get all that and more. She interprets my aesthetic desires with skill and artistry, creating something truly beautiful, current, and elegant.

Mary Moore has the Magic touch!…read more Mary owned a successful salon in Vermont before she moved south to Charlotte, worked in a few salons and finally opened one of her own. I've pretty much been a client from the start. Most recently, I asked Mary to cut my thick wavy hair into a chic short style. That was last summer. I get compliments on my hair all the time, yesterday from a waitress in Matthews, today from a professional financial planner. I've found less expensive salons, but never quite come out with the wow I get from Monte Bella Salon.

Previous stylists dismissed my concerns and offered nothing. Tabitha met me with empathy and respect, and then began to share her wealth of hair knowledge at each appointment I've had. She has done a stellar job dialing in my hair color and also providing me with a true relaxing spa experience while I'm there (I have 3 young boys, so peaceful experiences are worth their weight in gold!). Tabitha has recommended products that have steadily improved my hair growth. But the real value has been in the tips and tricks she has taught me: how to dry my hair without damaging the ends so much, what brushes to use on my fragile hair, why not to go to bed with wet hair, and how to style my hair with beachy waves and have it actually hold longer than 5 minutes! Where were all these tips in the earlier part of my adulthood?!? And if that weren't enough, you can also have her prepare an at-home root color touch up kit, to help keep the grays away between appointments. And she has a video to coach you through the technique so you do it correctly. All genius! Needless to say, I am a happy client! Lots of fantastic hair days for me!!!

I moved to Charlotte from NJ in 2018 and it wasn't until this year that I found a place where I can…read moretrust someone with my hair! I was thoroughly impressed by the covid safety precautions of this place and their wonderful service. I went to Mo2 for a haircut after the phase to re-open hair salons happened. My hair was a mess with split ends etc since it had been awhile so I sucked it up and made an appointment. I was afraid to go in but I was really relieved with the amount care they took to make sure everyone was safe. They were specific about their check ins so there weren't too many people there all at once. Everyone was masked, there was 6 ft distancing between customers and air filter machines. I felt really safe there even though I was very apprehensive at first. Moving onto the haircut- I don't think I will go to anybody else other than Mohsen after he did wonders with my hair. I am picky about my hair and had quite a few specifications and Mohsen listened and asked if everything was looking the way I wanted every step of the way. I wasn't afraid to share my thoughts and he was really attentive about what I asked for. He even taught me a few tricks on how to make my hair look perfect when I'm on my own! ! I was so happy and received many compliments from friends and family afterwards. Also the trick he taught me (I asked for wispy bangs) was a life savior as getting bangs to look good after a shower can be extremely frustrating!) If you want an amazing haircut and plenty of helpful advice for your hair to go along with it, I would highly recommend this place and Mohsen!

I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience at this salon. After receiving haircuts…read morefor myself and my daughter, the salon later attempted to retroactively charge us more because of our hair type--something they were fully aware of before the appointment. I had even provided photos of my daughter's hair in advance, so there was no surprise or misunderstanding. Further, the "master" stylist was very rude and accusatory when he approached me about retroactively charging us. Mind you he was the one I showed the pictures to, as well as the one who submitted the payment slips to the young women at the front desk. Changing prices after the fact is unfair and unacceptable. It also raises serious concerns about discriminatory pricing practices. Customers deserve transparency and honesty, not hidden or after-the-fact charges. I would not recommend this salon to anyone who values professionalism, fairness, and respect.
