Really expensive food without flavor. But that wouldn't be a big deal if you just try it out once. Instead, they ask you to choose your meals as if it's a one-time order and then they send you the exact same meals weekly. HORRIBLE. I've ordered from plenty of food delivery places and I've ALWAYS understood whether it's a weekly service or not. I just got the first shipment on Monday morning and it is wonderful! I ordered 8 meals for this week for my husband and I and we are both very pleased. The packaging is nice, and the provided reheat directions for each meal is a nice touch. Last night I ate the veggie Thai curry and my husband had the turkey meatballs; both dishes were delicious and seasoned very well, my husband didn't even add extra salt which is a rare occurrence, especially with low fodmap food because he can eat all the tasty onion, garlic, mushrooms, etc that I can't! Having to eat low fodmap is tough, especially when you work a lot and don't always have the time to cook, so I plan on ordering Epicured every other week to alleviate me from cooking duties. They catered an event I was at, and out of 50 participants, around 20 of us were with our knees on the bathroom floor hovering over the toilets.. Classic case of vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain- a true public health headache (or stomach ache i should say)... We finally linked the culprit to the smoothies (which were delicious, I will not lie) that the 20 so of us consumed. If you are going to be hippy and 'all natural, no this, no that', you need to be EXTRA careful with your handling of foods. I will never eat from here again!!!!! read more

This is a really good idea. I tried it for the first time at the recommendation of my doctor. I have been having a lot of stomach issues, probably IBS related. I don't cook, I am bad at it and I really don't have time for it, and it is very hard to know if what I am eating out is low FODMAP. Even if it seems to be, you can't be too sure, and usually after eating, I instantly have a painful bloat. These foods do not make me feel bad after I eat them. I am full, but not bloated. They options are really good, and they taste good. They are a little bland, but I guess that comes with the territory. My only problem is the high delivery fee, $10 per delivery. I would love to get deliveries 2 times a week, but I can't afford it. Update** I have been having a lot of trouble communicating with these people. My order has been wrong 2 orders in a row. Nobody answers the phones, they may answer emails, but much much later. Disappointing. read more

I received a gift card for Epicured as a Christmas gift and placed an order. It was received as promised on a Wednesday and arrived early afternoon. All good, except whoever delivered it left it beside garage in the snow. A covered porch ten steps farther away. The box was extremely well packed and the direction sheet enclosed was great. The food.... Enjoyed the majority of choices. The shrimp was excellent. All vegetable dishes were fresh and tasty. My Issue? The cost of shipping. $20 on an order under $100. And still $10. For order over $100. Really? I've ordered from at least three other food delivery services. Most failed on either delivery or the taste of the recipes. read more

Being on a low FODAMP diet is a pain, and having a service with such high quality meals, prepared beautifully, delivered freshly, is just a joy for everyone who shares these dietary restrictions. I had a pretty bad bike accident recently, and my team at work organized 2 weeks of Epicured for me as a gift to accelerate my recovery. I loved the meals so much that I ordered one more week of it afterwards when I was still home, and I'm convinced that these wonderful meals helped me heal so quickly. Especially when you are on a complicated restrictive diet like low FODMAP, not being able to go out and get my own food for the first couple of days after my accident was so hard. Their website is well-designed to answer any question you could possibly have about each dish, and the fact that the menu is overseen by a registered dietician and chef-prepared gave me extra confidence. They offer enough delivery options to please even the toughest person, and the boxes are carefully packaged to arrive safely. I was very excited when I learned about this service. My experience was a mixed bag. Skipping deliveries has never been an issue, but I would really encourage you them to fix the backend so that one doesn't need to cancel their subscription in order to change their on going meal choices. I ended up missing a full week of deliveries even though I received a confirmation that they were coming because of this. Also it would be nice if the delivery windows could be shortened, and at the very least adhered to; I've had several late deliveries, which of been costly to me because sometimes I hire someone to wait for the package so that they can be put away as the cooling system in the box is not very good and so they can't sit outside until I come home. So when I hire someone to wait for the delivery window and no one comes, it's wasted money and food. The new manager reached out but clearly hadn't read my concerns as I just got a copy paste reply. I sent him essentially this review before posing it and never got a response. read more

Convenience cuts both ways and with all the food delivery options in New York, my eating routine somehow evolved into coming home from work every day, ordering too much food on Seamless and then eating till I felt sick (a la Louis CK...haha). I'm not gluten sensitive or averse to any specific foods but I signed up to try something new and was so happy I did. In short, all the food is delicious and fresh. It's pretty amazing how the low FADMAP dishes leave you feeling full but light. No more food comas on the couch after crushing some greasy food. The reheating takes 3 minutes and the food keeps really well, even if you wait a few days to eat them all. The delivery service and website are super easy to use and compared to other food delivery services, it's one of the most reliable and convenient I've tried. read more

This service is great for someone new to a low FODMAP diet who lacks the time to research, shop, and prepare meals for people with food sensitivities. We started ordering for my daughter a few weeks ago. The food is hit or miss. Baked goods and smoothies are great, however the entrees lack flavor and taste awful after freezing and thawing. The delivery and customer service are awful!!! The first time we ordered the food arrived at the wrong time. It was just before a long weekend trip so we missed our order and had to get a family member bring the food in and freeze it so it did not go bad. I contacted customer service via the chat online and I was told we would receive a credit for our order. We never received our credit. The following week, we changed our order as the options we picked were bland. When our new order arrived, it contained all of the items from the previous week. I now have a week's worth of food that is sitting in my fridge and going bad. I have since called epicured and left messages on the customer service line and I have emailed them at the customer service email listed on their website and I have yet to receive a response. I have skipped this week's delivery and I am waiting to see if I get charged again and/or receive another delivery. If I don't hear back from them, I plan to cancel my subscription because of all of the headaches and bad customer service. read more

I placed an order with Epicured but my food did not arrive on the day they said it would. I got an email 24hrs later stating "If you happen to receive your box, please do not consume any of the meals". What a big disappointment! Food I can't eat and very little done about it! My doc put me on the low FODMAP diet recently and I was completely overwhelmed during the initial phase especially. Without this service, I never would have made it through. I can't say a bad thing about them - the food was delicious, held up well throughout the week and very easy to prepare. My deliveries were always on time, and the one time they missed packing one of my 12 different items, customer service was great. I'm now able to go back on my regular diet so next week will be my last week with Epicured, and I honestly considered keeping the service for a few more weeks just because of how convenient it is and how good the food is. I can't recommend them highly enough! Even my non-FODMAP challenged boyfriend loved all of the meals. read more

Epicured is a lifesaver! This is the second time I've had to be on the low Fodmap diet, and the first time I did not know about this service - I was constantly hungry, miserable with cravings, and confused about what to cook. Now that I'm back on it for the second time and know about Epicured, it's so much better. Everything has been made so easy! Every meal I've tried has been delicious and filling, and it takes so much of the stress and planning out of this extremely confusing, limiting diet. Personal dish favorites are the truffle mac & cheese, lasagna bolognese, Thai green curry, and crab cakes, but you really can't go wrong with anything you order. I have tried several delivery programs and this is by far my favorite! The food is packaged beautifully, delivered on time, and is as fresh as if I had made it in my own kitchen. Both meals were outstanding and, with the sides that accompanied the meals, totally satisfying.
