    Welcome to Laura's BBQ
    Joel H.

My friend's Kiwanis Club run a fundraiser and partnered with Laura's BBQ Shack. I am so glad they do. They are located within the Glen Cove Marina so there is plenty of parking and it's very simple to get there. It's a lovely setting inside with plenty of space and rooms. Having a party here would be no problem at all. The staff (including the owner and family) are always so kind and appreciative of their guests. We pre-ordered one ribs and brisket dinner and one chicken and brisket dinner. It came with and order of coleslaw and their delicious BBQ sauce. All the food was definitely a treat! We love their dry-rub for the ribs, it is OUTSTANDING. These ribs are packed with flavor and they are tender and moist. All things necessary for a great rib. We also love their chicken and brisket. Again, both these items are packed with flavor. They are moist-tender and overall delicious. We just love the food with their BBQ sauce on it. This is the perfect package. When you come to Lauras', it not just the food but the whole BBQ experience. KUDO's to the team (especially the cook) here at Laura'a BBQ shack. You all rock!

Thick coding but calamari is very fresh

Calamari: Coding is a little thick but calamari itself is well prepared and super fresh. Fries: Crispy n flavorful. Ribs: Dry rub. Well smoked but too dry for my taste. Briskets: Too dry! We would love more marble! Pulled pork: Too salty. Very tender. Collard green: Very salty and a bit overly cooked. Tastes soggy. Coleslaw: Very good. Not watery nor sour just simple veggiely refreshing Overall, it is overpriced for its quality. Specially we have just gotten back from TX

Excited to try the bbq based on positive reviews by others however was disappointed that the meats lacked flavor. Nearly no seasoning, not enough smoke and just a tad drier that I could have liked. The Mac and cheese wasn't cheesy enough and the collard greens was way too salty.

I finally made it down to Laura's Bbq shack (2 min drive) and was pleasantly surprised. No longer is it a food truck but a restaurant on the marina with indoor & outdoor seating! The ribs are delicious! Dry rub - no sauce needed although it's included & tasty. Ribs were meaty & tender! The cornbread was also yummy. The other sides- baked beans & collard greens were okay. The staff was very friendly. I can't wait to come back & explore more of the menu.

The truck parked out front of the party

Laura's BBQ Shack is reinventing the backyard BBQ party scene. I attended a backyard BBQ here in Brooklyn and thought it was a GENIUS idea what they had a food truck parked out front. Laura's BBQ catered all the meats and fixins - melt in your mouth pulled pork, brisket, ribs, smoked chicken, smoked salmon, and since that obviously wasn't enough for the 50+ people, and ENTIRE pig. I opted for the pulled pork, ribs, and brisket and smothered it in their BBQ sauce. The pulled pork made the perfect sandwich, the ribs fell off the bone, and I had to hold myself back from going for a second helping of brisket. SO GOOD! I didn't really try the coleslaw and potato salad because.... MEATS. That's what we came for, and that's what we got. Clean up was seamless. The trays that were put out were also taken back in by Laura and team. This was a great help to the party's host. If you're looking for a super cool party idea, Laura's BBQ is a perfect catering option and crowd-pleaser.

I'm always looking for a good bbq place and we thought we'd try this one. I know they say it's in a marina but there is no view as you are in a marina parking lot and only see cars and dry docked boats. I almost missed the entrance luckily I had my phone giving directions. It's a bit off the beaten path and not really worth the trip. The meats were dry and the bbq sauce on table(2) hot sauce and a very vinegary sauce. The onion rings were good no chopped onions real rings and the fries were fine. The Mac & cheese had no flavor and the potato salad was very mustardy (Dijon). I ate one rib and took the rest home and doctored it up so I could eat it. In fact everyone did. The food wasn't worth the long drive. There are many tables inside with a second room with a bar and a pool table. Tables outside with umbrellas and a bar. The parking lot is lots of pebbles so not conducive for heels or wheelchairs although it is handicapped accessible. Service was fast and friendly.

Died and went to heaven, i had the brisket with coleslaw and collards. Very nice smoke ring and the spice rub gave the brisket some delicious flavor. collards were 100 legit! Can't wait to com back.

It's a small place tucked away in a marina, but I definitely enjoyed eating here. Great food and great service. It was nice to find a place with actual outdoor seating and not just an enclosed tent as well.

Overnighted brisket and onion rings. Extremely dry.

Driest brisket ever. Was better off wasting my $15 on power ball tickets. They also skimped out on the onion rings. Would never go back.

I stopped here with a friend of mines who ordered the grilled cheese because she's a vegetarian. But not I! I'm an omnivore all the way, leaning more to the carnivore in me. This is where Billy excels. Billy has great meat! Did I say that?! Yeah I did, but I mean it. His burger was delicious & he makes a mean cheesesteak hero. Also be sure to ask for his special sauce. Cousins Maine Lobster recently rolled into Forest Commons in Staten Island, and I finally had the…read morechance to see if the Shark Tank hype was real. As someone who is permanently avoiding corporate coffee in favor of supporting small businesses, I was more than ready for a local food truck pilgrimage. The Culinary Reality Check: Maine vs. My Expectations. I went in with one goal: the Connecticut Roll. For anyone wondering, yes, I am the rare foodie who is actually allergic to mayo, making this the only safe harbor for me. The Lobster: Scrumptious, soft, and undeniably fresh. Even though it arrived "bone dry" (mine was definitely missing the signature butter drizzle), the quality of the meat was top-tier. The Bread: Perfectly soft and fresh. However, since it lacked that buttery goodness, I ended up skipping most of the bun to just savor the lobster. The Portion: Let's talk about that $30+ price tag. I opened my small box to find a bun that was... well, let's just say it wasn't exactly a cruise ship buffet portion. It's a respectable sandwich, but definitely more of a "special occasion" snack than a full-on meal. The Tater Tot Engineering Project: Now, while the lobster was the intended star, the tater tots absolutely stole the show. When I saw the large box, my brain immediately assumed it was for the roll. Nope. It was a literal mountain of tots. They were "Perfectly fried and crisp." Zero grease (a miracle for food truck fare). Plentiful enough that I "engineered" two additional meals out of them over the next 48 hours. Even on day three, these tots were still delicious and crispy. I basically had a three-day tater tot residency in my own kitchen. The Verdict: Insight for Fellow Foodies. If you're headed to the Cousins Maine Lobster truck, go for the taste and the freshness--it truly is some of the best-tasting lobster around. Just be aware that you are paying "NYC-on-wheels" prices for smaller portions. My Pro Tip: Don't let your expectations fail you like mine did. It's a food truck, not a seated restaurant. Enjoy the lobster for the delicacy it is, but prepare to have enough tater tots (if you buy these) to feed a small village (or just yourself for the next three days). Do you think the "butter-less" Connecticut roll was a one-time fluke, or should I explicitly ask for extra "liquid gold" next time? Let me know. :-)
